    I had a rat in my crawl space for roughly 3 + 5 weeks. In that one month he caused 2000 dollars in structural and material damage . Completely demolished 60 ft of insulation , a hole the size of a softball in cement and at least 5 holes in drywall before he got there. He was too smart for traps until i poissened him and he got desperate for water.
    I had holes coming in but he came up my flood drain in the basement. worst experience of my life. Listening to him dig every night .ruining my fathers house. The twins videos helped me alot, never had a rat before. I learned alot.thanks man

    If these guys videos have taught me anything it’s that A) They are addictive. And B) Most plumbers and pest companies are worth crap! It seems they do the absolute minimum. The twins go the extra mile and use their actual brains! Not to mention useless builders who short cut around everything. I lived in a place where it was finally discovered that the bathtub drained directly onto the dirt floor of the crawl space. Not hooked up to the septic system at all!!

We will go months without hearing anything and then they suddenly reappear. We have had two dishwashers ruined and they chewed the drain pipe under the sink

    I just wonder why American plumbing is such a mess ! I have never seen so many pipes in an attic space. Even the crawl spaces are crammed full of stuff

    • @PinkAgaricus
      @PinkAgaricus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those "pipes" are duct work for the vents, that roof has so many vents. Plumbing doesn't run through the roof (unless it's a fire suppression system), it's mainly in the walls (incoming water for sinks, tubs, and toilets), under/through the floor (to drain sinks, tubs, and toilets), and underground (for hose bib taps).
      Underfloor pipes, bathtubs installed within the floor, and possibly wiring are probably why crawlspaces look "crammed full of stuff".
      Yeah that's probably the first time I've ever seen a tub embedded through the floor. I'm used to seeing the tub being installed on the floor, not in it.

  • @javiergomez5671

    I disagree with your method of dealing every hole at once. Sealing every whole might in turn trap a rodent inside an area that one might not be able to get to. I recommend sealing exterior things first and once all the rodents are caught, then it would be a good idea to seal holes inside and under the house

  • @SubjectDredd
    @SubjectDredd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Can’t believe how much you don’t make sense. Holes inside like that aren’t sealed off because…
    1. There can be a million holes especially under insulation depending on the house, so good luck finding them, you have to charge the customer more now to close them, and don’t forget about the same holes coming from the sub area
    2. 99.99% of the time closing the holes from the outside will solve the customers problem.
    3. There’s other risk when closing off those types of holes, for example early in my career I wanted to close everything including holes like that, so I closed a hole in the kitchen they knew the rat was coming from, I got a call that night because the rat chewed a hole through the drywall in their daughters bedroom and was running around because it wanted to get inside and it’s usual path was blocked because of me.
    You guys are great because of your plumbing background and you’re learning a lot, but you paint this picture for your audience (who don’t know pest control or plumbing) that these rodent companies could be doing better or are not doing the best job. But I think you still have a lot to learn, you guys are new to this.

    • @TwinHomeExperts
      @TwinHomeExperts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Appreciate the great feeeback your offering!
      We are constantly learning and try to push the limits utilizing technology and our 30 years of being in the home service business. We are constantly coming in after 3 to 5 rodent companies have failed to try to stop the infestation.
      We maybe new, but we have solved more rodent issues and have developed our own process that may not suit well with everyone, and that’s ok.

    • @SubjectDredd
      @SubjectDredd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TwinHomeExperts you have to understand you’re dealing with the bread crumbs compared to the amount of rodent jobs pest control companies are doing/solving. So these weird rare instances where they come through the pipes are not at a fault of a pest company that can’t do plumbing as well. At least for my company I explain to the customer that this is a painful possibility at any home and isn’t included but we know the process of what needs to be done thanks to you guys. But that doesn’t make you the authority on this and it seems like the success with these rare instances goes to your head and comes out when you paint a bad picture for some companies. You guys wouldn’t be doing rodents at all if it weren’t for someone at some point taking a wild guess that they maybe are coming through the pipes somehow and decided to call a plumber in to help (you).

      @flatbush9117 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand where you are coming from. They are implying that the pest control company didn't do a good job when they very well may have done everything they could within the scope of their field of expertise. Or they may have done a crap job. No way for us to know.
      I work with a lot of pest control companies in South Florida and by and large, they do a good job. They call me when they've done everything they could and still can't resolve the issue. We do extensive and thorough inspections and smoke testing when the plumbing is suspected to be the issue and we have a very high rate of success if the sewer and drain lines are involved.
      What I see watching these videos is a couple of guys weaving a story. Sometimes they take some "artistic" liberties with that story, painting themselves as the heroes of the story. That makes the pest guys the defacto not so good guys. I wish they'd take a different approach but it's not my channel so I don't have any say on it.
