Sarà perché essendo Italiano pronuncia bene le parole, rimane il mio preferito ,anche se amo i tenori con timbri più scuri alla Kaufman.

Kaufmann pessimo baritono dalla voce scura ingolata camuffato da tenore, se fosse nato ai tempi di Mario del Monaco, Franco Corelli, Richard Tucker, Nicolai Gedda, Nicola Nikolov, sarebbe stato considerato una nullità.

Voce unica potente ma anche pulita e non artefatta nella ricerca del raggiungimento di note impegnative perché per lui semplicemente non c'erano note impegnative le raggiungeva tutte con naturalezza estrema.
Voce potente Pavarotti? Evidentemente non hai mai ascoltato del Monaco Corelli Tucker Nikolov Bonisolli Filippeschi, potrei continuare..

Am I the only one that thinks that Pavarotti is not that great of a tenor beside his ability of singing high notes effortelessly?
There hardly ever is "only one" on anything. It is the minority for sure. Pavarotti, had great projection. Not a BIG Opera voice, not a SMALL opera voice. A full and beautiful tone. Here is a live recording, taken from the audience

Me encanta Pavarotti...pero aqui sono su voz muy seca,sin matices, sin armonicos, sin concentracion.
Tiene orgullo y no humildad.

He is forcing his instrument? :) This is as healthy a sound as it gets, at no point in that aria was i nervous or afraid that he is going to crash or crack or tighten up when ascending to the top of his range. He knew exactly what he was doing. This is pure bel canto, if you want to listen to soft singing, go listen to early music enthusiasts :)
