Totally agree with second half of this vid. The lack of ball movement from Dallas is terrible. The myth on the networks is that Boston never doubles, but actually they cheat off half the team and pack the lane against Luka and Kyrie. Dallas never looks to make the pass. And they never move into the open space. Genuinely baffling.

It's really sad to see such a trash team reach the finals, Kyrie plays are just Luka near the halfcourt line and the other players just standing around, like there's no movement at all so the Celtics players can just focus on watching Kyrie because they know the ones they're guarding ain't doing anything, Dallas looked like they only have one play which is ISO, it's embarrassing 😬.

I never understood how Kidd became thought of as a good coach. His coaching record is .500, and that's after several years of Luka. His playoff record is worse. He's a Doc Rivers type - can get along with stars but brings little else.

This ASMR channel is weird
Erm the reason for not getting Derrick jones jr to set the screen is because it didn’t work in games 1 or 2. First, it gets D Jones doing a lot of things he is bad at (setting screens, shooting above the break, rolling) and prevents him from doing things he is good at (shooting corners 3s, cutting along the baseline for dunks etc). Second, it ruins the Mavs spacing. Gifford and Lively essentially just clog up the pain and otherwise become non-factors-at least removing their strength in pick and roll. Third, Horford is not a cone and is strong enough to hold up on Luka (who would also get doubled because Brown would beat the screen-see games 1 and 2 turnovers). Fourth, Tatum is not an invincible defender and Luka has had reasonable success attacking him. So yeah, it wasn’t brain dead coaching to do that.

Boy Coach is sure right about that four-corner prevent offense by the Mavs. They treated the paint like it was the DMZ. Celtics also fall into that trap. No cutters. No entry passes. But Tatum has finally grown beyond the pound the ball and shoot mentality these playoffs. And it’s Jrue making the cuts. That’s where they’re getting the 8 points more a game.

Mavs fan here, dam this got me upset. It's like they are scared to cut to the rim or get easy buckets.
The 3 point line and "modern offenses" have ruined so many players game. Jones Jr should be averaging at least 15 ppg with his athletic ability if he would just f*cking CUT instead of waiting to shoots 3 in the corner. Mavs coaching staff need to lock him in a room all summer and show him nothing but Dwyane Wade off-ball cuts. Man would get an easy 10 points a game from wing and baseline cuts off Luka and Kyrie drives.

The Mavs are either so good individually or so lucky that other teams got cold at the same time to reach the finals, maybe they're the next Phoenix Suns in 2021 lol Also role players nowadays are basically coached to "get out of the superstars way" a lot, I think that's why they have so many brain lapses. Especially on a team like Dalls which have Luka and Kyrie, the coaching staff must want them to just set a screen and space out the floor instead of letting them play the game naturally as a team.

If we are to believe what AC has said before (mostly in the GAME 1 Livestream), he actually has coached at every level, including professionally overseas. He didn't say where though, prob for privacy (although I'm sure some assholes have probably already used his face to find out where coached.)

I feel what you’re saying, but I think you’re missing one key piece of the puzzle, Kyrie and Luka have both shot their worst when Horford is their primary defender. JB has been the best defender on luka if taking account time guarding him versus the amount of shots he has taken, but as far as shooting goes, Horford has made them shoot horribly against him. He’s an underrated excellent defender for a old man and big man.
