    I love how my body's held together while I've been working on my mental and emotional health. I'm finally starting to feel like I can begin taking care of my body, and I'm grateful that she's waited so patiently.

    Hey Ashley! What is the reason for beginning most poses on the right side of the body? I figured there was purpose behind that since I see it a lot.
    PS this is till one of my favorites

      Hi Amber ~ Sorry for my delayed reply!! Well the answer may vary depending on the yoga teach from addressing the energetic, traditional, historical, and scientific perspectives. I favor starting with the right side because of digestive health, which is especially important in our twists. Twisting to the right first can help to assist with peristalsis (muscle contraction that move digestive content). This compresses and massages the ascending colon first. Then we take it over to the left side which stimulates the descending colon. All supporting a happy, healthy, flowing digestive system : )
