    Its always updated and well maintained. Got this from some amateur Ham radio operators here in Canada.

    you should have your band with wide, and Helsinki is in Scandinavia, and the station 09n 9665 was actually on 9670khz M
    I agree this is an outstand station i have a omni directional vertical and an active loop connected for short and long wave and active antenna for FM. best radio I have ever owned under 1000.00 Kind Regards.

    The list I sent you is always up to date and is based on UT. Just match the frequency with the UT time and you have an identification as well as to where the signal is directed to and the language that it's in. It site also has other nice things. Its the best I found because its always update and current. I received the link from some Ham operators here in Canada. Let me know if you already have seen it.

    I have the Tecsun 2000 version. Great radio. My favourite too. Use SW mostly but AM too. Use it with the Tecsun 200 loop antenna. Great video Tom. Thanks.

      Yes, it makes a great smaller tablet top radio.

    I have the Tecsun S2000 version. It's a great radio. I live in a ground floor flat with practically no garden so have to rely on the built in whip. It still picks up radio hams from the US and Canada and transatlantic aeronautical transmissions. Oh for a larger antenna!

    Thomas, could you create a show on what to connect to the AM top swivel jack of the grundig 740 .. i enjoy late night AM broadcasts, yet some stations are still hard to hear.
    I'm finishing up my 67' long outdoor antenna (14 awg copper wire) from house to tree, and bringing it inside with coax bnc to radio for SW.
    I sure enjoy your videos, and your moving left hand always reminds me of the end of the 'soupy sales show' of the 60's, where the hand would always chastise soupy thru the open door at the end of the show.

    • @hamrad88
      @hamrad88 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great idea but in my area there are over 100 strong AM stations and it is nearly impossible for me to do any AM DXing. Thanks for the suggestion,

    • @thomashginski8466
      @thomashginski8466 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you're lucky Tom having so many strong MW signals in your area .. where i am AM reception is poor and only very weak stations can be heard in the distance. I have the AM tunable loop but it helps very little. i thought perhaps there was an antenna that could be connected to the input on the rotating AM antenna (on the 750) that could appreciably improve signal.

    • @hamrad88
      @hamrad88 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did a show where I connected an external antenna to that input to see if I could hear anything on LW. No luck. :)

    It's the Grundig 750 still your favorite or have you moved on to the Tecsun H-501 or the like?

  • @papakrampus3062
    @papakrampus3062 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tom: Just curious to know why you prefer the 750 over it's big brother the 800 Millennium as most blogs on topic of comparison between the two state that the 800 is the superior model both in construction/asthetics-ergonomics/QC/durability as well as in signal reception/band tuning/AM synchronous detection/SSB LSB-USB selector controls vs. old school BFO on the 750. As an avid subscriber, I'm very much interested in your user-based product reviews, thoughts and opinions on this comparison. Maybe a TRRS vid on the topic, a more in-depth comparison addressing user vice reception assessments, as addressed in an earlier vid.? There are multitudes of Grundig fans out in TH-cam Land, a great many respectful of your assessments so I hope so!

    • @hamrad88
      @hamrad88 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kevin Walkowski pretty simple, the 800 is just too big otherwise I would like the 800 better.

    Bro Stair is everywhere! Thanks for the great vlogs Tom, really enjoy them. I need to use my Grundig 750 more, I really need a better outside antenna, I am just using a 45 foot long wire not to high up. God Bless!!73's

      Of my newer table shortwave radios, the 750 is my favorite.

  • @danedewaard8215
    @danedewaard8215 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have always wondered why Brother Stair is received on frequencies so close together(9350, 9370)!? They can't be images, as the G 750, in your video, must be at least a dual conversion receiver.

    • @SpectreOZ
      @SpectreOZ 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brother Stair simulcasts on more than one frequency, if you check the transmitter location/details you would see they are configured to reach different regions :)

    • @hamrad88

      He is all over the bands. I use his broadcast to make sure my radios are working when I can't seem to get anything on SW. :)

      As OZ said, here in the Great Lakes region I can always hear the broadcasts, well almost always. I am sure the beam pattern is set for either time of day and or power settings Must be quite an electric bill for them transmitters
