Derek's one of the more underrated characters that I hope will come back to the TV series. He's really just like us humans, he does have his own flaws and his issues but he kept on going despite his imperfections. He's the perfect visual definition of the old saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again".
Being honest, I legitimately felt sorry for Derek's situation during his introductory episode. He was one of the few diesels at that time that wasn't a complete jerk to the steam team. Even if this isn't official, it's still cool to see the guy finally catch a break. Kudos, man.

I really like this episode. I also like the fact that Diesel is more of a good guy than a bad guy. You also gave a good reason why there are mainline engines at brendam as that always confused me in the tv series why trains are coming from brendam on Edwards branchline and not Knaphord on the mainline.
I'm glad you're using actual SFX now, but that screeching SFX at Wellsworth is a bit too much. That sound is best for large industrial areas only to represent the factories and construction.
I liked this story and this really was very different to what I was expecting. I think Derek will be a great addition to the series and I hope we get to see him again in your series :).
Nice to see the Skarloey Railway engines and the Spiteful Brakevan getting cameos. Also, nice description of Derek's history. I also noticed Bill and Ben have red wheels now. Did they get a wheel replacement in the CGI series? Finally, Diesel has come a long way since the old days, I'm beginning to think the NRM in York really gave him a personality change.
I agree with both Sudrian Afro and SodorsNWRsteam on what they have said. It was a good move to bring in sound effects into your video, and brings that much more life to them rather than the sparsity of the in-game rendered sounds (the loop of baa-ing sheep over the static unmoving image of a radio speech during that war time episode you did springs to mind), though at the same time, you might want to play with the volumes and fade outs a little more to make them feel natural rather than a loop. Case in point: Wellsworth and the screeching sounds. Consider substituting it for the typical Thomas countryside loop, since it is a smallish station. Or when an engine rushes by, you might want to fade in and fade out to give the impression of going into the distance. Also, look into downloading the Cinesound library, as that had uncovered most of the S1-2 Thomas sound effects. I even think it is hosted on TH-cam, so a simple search should be able to get you a lot. In addition to that, story wrangling wise, it's a bit disappointing since this is the second Derek v. Arry and Bert episode I've seen with very little variation between the two, and with your last two episodes being adaptations of Brenner stories, it's leaving a lot to be desired in a way. I would also offer my assistance for drafting/proofreading and the like, since I do story wrangling a lot with my own stuff. Kudos for the The Dismissing Coach cameo btw, very nice to see one half of what I wrote appear in other videos.

While its a great episode, and I do enjoy people who utilize Derek in their stories, I feel as this episode was a tad unorganized. No offence, but I felt as if perhaps the story could've been more spread out, like Derek's history, instead of compacted together. Also, towards the end of Derek's history crash course, you gave away Derek's fate by saying he's now part of Sodor before it happened. Maybe a sort of flashback/storytelling scenario would've worked better, like what you did with that one BoCo episode you did last year. A mere suggestion. Also, this seems like the 2nd time Diesel's had to bail someone out :p
While I do accept constructive criticism I seem to remember the same happened with Emily in S7, considering that she was purchased by TFC and was obviously going to be a part of the railway anyway and at the end we hear 'Emily loves her coaches and being part of the Fat Controller's railway'. Also with Diesel, I'm making him mature like the way Christopher Awdry did in 'Thomas and The Evil Diesel'.

Due to the unreliability, all members of his class were scrapped. Since the Fat Controller sent him back to the mainland after his initial teething troubles, the canon scenario is that he was most likely scrapped. I doubt anyone would have been interested enough in rescuing such a badly-failed design.
Well done, I enjoyed this episode! However, the screeching brakes noise in the background was a tad too loud and got annoying after a while. Other than that, it was great! Keep up the good work! Cheers! -Jacob

I watched Mallardfan's Derek to the Rescue and you clearly used the problem the twin diesels had.
I'm not denying it that I took the plot of the episode. But looking back I should've thought differently.
