Oooh, you must watch Nothing Else Matters for awesomeness OR Drunken Sailor for more silliness (and SO MANY in between...) - they are awesome. 🌹🕊

The fact that they don't take themselves too seriously, and allow themselves to have fun is one of the things that drew me to VoicePlay in the first place. I've loved a cappella music for a long time, but could never connect with Pentatonix. That group always seemed too focused on polished perfection, and their attitudes always struck me as being Super Serious about their music. Which is fine, but it meant that for me, their music felt cold and almost sterile. Enter VoicePlay- a group of grown men who are perfectly at peace with their inate silliness, and songs overflowing with emotion and experiments as well as crazy vocal antics... I was sold. Been a fan since then, and never looked back. These guys are clealy still having fun with their craft, and the pleasure that they take in their music shines through every track. Check out anything on their channel- it's all fantastic. One of my favroites is their cover of Edvard Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King (yes, the piece of classical music from the Peer Gynt Suite). No, it doesn't have any words. Yes, they manage to tell a story with it anyway, and it's some of the best makeup/prosthetics work you'll see on TH-cam.
Oh, and in case no one else has mentioned- these guys are independent, so all the music, all the videos, all the arrangements-- it's 100% coming from the guys you see on the screen. (Well, maybe 95-98%; Geoff's wife, Kathy, is their production manager, and you can't very well film and be in the shot at the same time. But for all intents and purposes, it's all them.)

FYI- J Nunn is currently in the elite Navy choir…as a bass! The range these guys have is unreal.
    This is so joyous.

This was originally intended to be a 'mini'--a short piece that they usually do film there in the mall using a phone. But Layne (the beatboxer/baritone/violinist) was having so much fun putting the arrangement together, he just kept going. Some amazing things had just happened in the guys' lives and you can really tell they were all in high spirits and having a great time that day, which is even more evident in the behind-the-scenes available in their Patreon. Great reaction, liked and subscribed, looking forward to more!

Thank you for the insight. You could tell they were having fun. I've literally heard 1 other voice play song, so I'm looking forward to hearing more

They'd planned it as a short and the steadicam wasn't available last minute, so they just went ahead and did it on a phone. Do watch again and focus on the background... lots of silliness, gorillas dancing, etc.

That's pretty awesome, I did see all the stuff going on in the background, but with so much ear candy, it's hard to focus on it

Another really fun one is In the Hall of the Mountain King. I love Geoff's cover of Way Down (Elvis) on his solo channel too for dorky humour.

This surprised me when it was released; it's just so wildly fun.

So you know, the music video is very quiet, I have it turned full on and it's still quiet. For next time maybe play it a bit louder?

Thank you, I'll address that in future videos
