Say Heah Aaron, I was cleaning and stopping my knives I had out for the weekend two to be exact my Mod. Rodent 6 and my Ratmandu and I didn't click off the before video that was just in before this one where you did a review on the Cold Steel S.R.K. in the AUS8 it's ok but I like my CarbonV S.R.K. better and my San Mai is way too thin at the tip it might be a good food processing knife in the wood's but too thin for anything else, anyhow this video came up right after I didn't know TH-cam worked like this, what surprised me is that your knife has a very close resemblance to my Ratmandu blade shape infact I had to stop the video and check it out, no wonder you like your knife my Ratmandu shined again this weekend and still is one of my Olé Time Fav's but for a 1knife carry all arounder I still don't have any regrets what I had done to my Mid. Rodent 6 it's like a beefy Ratmandu on steriods and I already told you how I felt about the Ratmandu the Mod. Rodent 6 is just a larger version in every way so naturally it does chop better but what makes it shine in chopping is the way they blended the area they took the top gaurd off at, they improved the chopping swing so when the tip goes up it extends the tip causing more power on the downward chop it's just awesome anyhow your knife seems awesome I like the D-2 I have a vintage Benchmade #156 in it with serrations it's about the same size as the S.R.K. but I think it's better made they just don't make things like they use to, it came with a plain edge but I bought it on E-bay at a great price and I didn't pay attention to the serrations but it's discontinued in D-2 I don't know if it's available in 1095 anymore now but it's not a bad knife even though it has serrations it holds a great edge though.

So did you hold onto this one Arron? I'm becoming a huge Ontario fan , I bought the SK5 blackbird then recently got the SP5 bowie and I'm using the Rat1 as my edc. I've noticed the TAK1 seems to have the same shape as their folders which I love its a perfect belt knife shape IMHO.
Anyways just wondering if ya did get rid of it and if so do ya regret letting it go . I have many knife regrets LOL😁

I know you have moved up in knives quite a bit. Is this knife still one of your favorites? I have the exact model and it is at the top of my list for favorites. If I had to have only one knife, It would be this one. I agree on the finger choil. I think I am going to make it bigger by grinding it back towards the handle. I am also considering removing the funky blade paint and doing a blueing job on the blade. The sheath sucked. But I found a great sheath for it. I like leather. So the Ergo Huner Buck sheath fits it perfectly. And I can carry the TAK1 and a cutting hook in the sheath. The good thing is it costs only $17.

mikedifeo It is still a good blade, but I would prefer the BK16. Same blade length, better sheath, same price, more ergo handle, weighs less.

Which is better for bushcrafting? The Tak 1 or the BK16?

gideonstactical So the BK16 is a better knife overall? Or just for bushcraft? If you had to choose the TAK1 or the BK16 for survival, which would it be?

@@danclarke8396 Interesting because right now on their web page
they are advertising the Tak 1 with 1075. A rep told me the change
over was 2018 but a lot of vendors may have left over 1095's.
Not sure what mine is. Thanks for chiming in.
