I guess you could say it was toxic, but in the best way possible, and I really love how the fourth season had them develop a friendship before becoming romantically involved again. Their relationship is ultimately grounded in love and I think that's why they can't stay apart for too long. I also believe they trust each other more than they even realize. They are 'inevitable'.
It was toxic, but they loved each other so deeply. They kept coming back to each other bc they were meant to be. But like alex said, love is pain. And I think I’m that relationship, pain prevailed
The emotion that both Laura and Taylor show onscreen is almost palpable I felt it through the screen it was that good they are both phenomenal actresses and both deserve every accolade that they get
Tbh I never felt their relationship was toxic maybe it was kinda unhealthy at some point cuz they'd hurt each other but it was outta love, jealousy and pain but both have grown up now as individuals and as couples they'd literally do anything now to protect each other and thats what matter
Vauseman season 3 were pretty much toxic but that didn't last too long. I mean they did hit each other (Alex slapped Piper) during that famous library sex scene. But it was more of an s&m thing than abusive behavior cause Piper was into it. It was messed up, that's for sure (: Their relationship is the most healthy in season 5 & 6. Even tho people are saying they lost their magic/ chemistry, i disagree. They've been through a lot. Both made mistakes, hurt each other and now they are much better to each other. That's called progress.

They could never be boring. Whether they're dysfunctional or not, they're always fun to watch. They have an amazing chemistry & they also have a friendly connection. Best friends & lovers is always a perfect combo (:
When you love that someone sooo much, then you get hurt by your partner, the pain will be sooo much to bear that you tend to make a foolish decision of your actions that can make your relationship become worse, keep hurting each other.... If only can communicate better.. I've been experience this with my past relationship. It took 2 years to slowly get over it, reflect on myself, and befriend back my exGf (since we were in same course in college) She always had a special place in my heart, until now..
I think that Piper loves Alex because Piper was with Larry when she called Alex telling that he miss her. This night in the badroom and Piper told to Alex : something wrong in my relationship now if I'm calling at midnight to an ex girl friend. After 8 years Piper miss Alex That is truly love.
The look on pipers face just before she asks Alex to be her girlfriend is just so adorable that scene just makes my heart sing
