I'm a Finnish student who's been in japanese middle school for 3 years, currently on my 3rd. Idk what school you went to but 70% of the stuff you said I couldn't relate to, for example I have a classmate who calls himself ''big penis'' and when some girl was showing me around the school a guy in a group yelled ''she is small boobs'', the group laughed including the girl Kansai and Kanto area are like a whole another culture, kanto aka tokyo kanagawa whatever is full of those lemon faces who are and act like slaves to the school, In Kansai, places like kyoto you can find guys going to school with dyed hair and stuff. Piercings just aren't allowed There are some shadows in the class who are ugly as fuck and don't say a word because they always have a book on their face, but the other half literally can't keep their mouth shut even mid-class, yelling and shit. Befriended half of the school during the first 2 days and right now I'm spending half of my weeks out with friends Point being, if you're a foreigner going to school somewhere in japan, you should absolutely stay in the kansai area (also no offense just the truth, if you're not a white blue eyed blonde, life is hard)

Hi gotta break something to you, Japan is very strict with its learning in high school, even though I came here in middle school the fact that I couldn’t get good grades cuz of my Japanese really effected my emotional state and obviously grades. If you are planning to drop your kids in elementary school then great they still got time and with some more help it will be fine cuz grades in elementary school don’t at all play a big part in their future unless they want to get into a prestigious middle school and high school. So it won’t stop them getting into good high school if they study in middle school. When I came here my language level was trash I could only speak a bit here and there and not being able to make friends rly kinda effected me but it really helped make my psyche stronger in a way. They did make separate classes 1-2 a week for 2 hours and it didn’t really help me since I didn’t try at all in those classes but still those exist pretty much everywhere I think I made a vid about japan so I think u might find that interesting and I’m also working on going a bit more in depth on this topic If u got any more questions I’m glad to help :D

Love the cuts bro! Anyways, went on a two week trip to Japan. Travelled all over. Even got some fun hiking in Osaka. On my way back to the hotel, came across a whole bunch of kids on a field trip. Must have been an international school, because looking at the teachers and the students I thought it was back in California. But there's a healthy amount of Asian kids in the group. I don't mean like Malaysian or Indian. They looked ethnically Japanese. I think some of the locals are trying to get around all the problems you mentioned? For sure, want their kids to learn English but that can't be all of it.

Like I just took a chance and found a trail that was an abandoned train track. Walking in tunnels in the dark for a while. Or random bike ride between islands, crossing bridges and using fairies. I didn't do any research and just took a chance and they all turned out to be fun. I have no doubt that Japan is littered with stuff like that all over the place.
I wonder what they will think of me. But you say they are boring well in my classroom they are very boring as well. I want to be around people who are smarter it would make me feel happier.

hold up you get 3 weeks off of school breaks? when i was little here in the US it was just 2 weeks then when i was in high school. they changed it to 1 week. you should be thankful for them days off. also cleaning up the place is not that bad. no talking is understandable. they want things done and dont want you distracted. people are probably thinking im a weeb and i dont know things. well. i been in a military program and sounds like japan is treating you guys a little like that. nothing wrong with that. its to show you more about life and how to be more responsible. learn how to keep clean. well here in the U.S rarely anyone is clean there fat lazy people that bitch all the time and love drama. teachers will even bully there classes now. if there is a kid they dont like. now my husband is Japanese and he told me that his school would shave off the kids heads if they did something wrong. then boy or a girl. it dont matter. now to me. i think that way to far. but he said its for the kid to know and remember not to do it again. the trauma makes you stop.

It’s good to go to other countries for the culture even if ur not super good at that language it’s still a good idea I personally wouldn’t go with out the basic knowledge but that’s not too hard to learn. hold up you get 3 weeks off of school breaks? when i was little here in the US it was just 2 weeks then when i was in high school. they changed it to 1 week. you should be thankful for them days off. also cleaning up the place is not that bad. no talking is understandable. they want things done and dont want you distracted. people are probably thinking im a weeb and i dont know things. well. i been in a military program and sounds like japan is treating you guys a little like that. nothing wrong with that. its to show you more about life and how to be more responsible. learn how to keep clean. well here in the U.S rarely anyone is clean there fat lazy people that bitch all the time and love drama. teachers will even bully there classes now. if there is a kid they dont like. now my husband is Japanese and he told me that his school would shave off the kids heads if they did something wrong. then boy or a girl. it dont matter. now to me. i think that way to far. but he said its for the kid to know and remember not to do it again. the trauma makes you stop.

Hi! I’m from Ukraine but I live in the Uk and I would like to go to Japanese school as an exchange student for semester. Maybe it sounds really stupid but I don’t know Japanese ( I’m actually learning it right now), so I’m not sure I will be able to go to school even though I really want to, also I was trying to find a program to exchange but I still can’t find it, so is it worth to go to Japan in my situation or is it just a rubbish idea? 🥸
It’s good to go to other countries for the culture even if ur not super good at that language it’s still a good idea I personally wouldn’t go with out the basic knowledge but that’s not too hard to learn.
I’m actually making a video like literally right now on how to exchange with different programs and stuff so u might like that
