Sir thank you for such a wonderful video..but i had a doubt..in the first question you had described a logical enough reason as for why the larger compound is oxidized in cannizaro...but it is equally likely possible that attack by oh- and hence formation of coo- is hindered due to 3 huge bulky groups attached to that carbon...instead benzaldehyde should have been more reactive ...both logic seems equally correct...please comment and clarify...

How to decided the major product. Question asked in JEE advance is of aliphatic aldehydes only. So kindly put the name of reference book from which you have discussed the question. Benzaldehyde is more reactive so it will oxidise and when react with RMgX 1 mole is consumed..... This is right answer
