3rd really is such a fantastic conclusion to the Sky trilogy, as well as a great lead-up towards the rest of the Trails series. The final big scene of 3rd in particular is still up there with my favourite scenes from the entire series. Excited to hear your thoughts on the Crossbell duology!
Star door 15 hits you like a block of concrete falling from above. Suddenly some weird strange remarks from a certain character in the previous games makes a hell of a lot more sense. And that story is carried over to the Crossbell arc. I won't say much more to avoid spoilers, but things will clear up even more in those games.
I’m actually playing this game right now for the first time! I’m on chapter 4. I’m in love with the trails series. I started with trails of cold steel since that’s what I had first. Now I’m playing all the trails in the sky games
The door with the children in the orpganage is actually one of the best doors! Several things of note about that door is that the baby dragon is actually Ragnard (the dragon from SC) and the happiness stone has been referenced since then (we have even seen screenshots of it being referenced in hajimari no kiseki). I think that door is intended to be a very long term pay off door.

Review is spot on! Just finished 3rd a few minutes ago. At first was kinda disappointed by how this isn't really a continuation of SC, though that one had a satisfying ending already. 3rd just felt much less important, much smaller, but the writing and side stories still made way more impact than that of any other rpg I have played (Aside from FC and SC of course!) So yeah, not my favourite entry, but this series as a whole is a LEGIT masterpiece!
I just started SC, and watching some reviews on this one I'm not so sure I want to do this one. I go for story, and I'm not so sure I want to play this game.
If you are playing for the story then I don’t know why you would want to skip this one. Like this review already said, this one has the story/lore for a lot of characters that will also be important in later arc.
