Started shooting my Savage GRS in 6.5 over the last 3-4 months. Even with my smaller hands, the the angled grip works great.. One friend of mine is really into reloading and has worked out nice loads for me. @100 yds - Best 3-shot is .236. 5-shots at .289 I can get .5” and sub-MOA, regularly. The rifle shoots better than I can. Had fun repeatedly schwacking a 3”-3.5” swinging gong at 300 yds a few weeks ago.
The action is definitely smooth - but that’s me comparing it to my WW2 bolt actions - lol That friend of mine has custom rifles with actions like butter - but the Savage is still super sweet. My only complaint with Savage is that the rifle came with a 10-round mag which never worked. Magpul told me that the 10-rounder won’t work due to some feed angle thingy. Their 5-rounder works almost perfectly (minor hang every 10/20 rounds) and Magpul even did a swap! (Awesome customer service!)
Awesome content as usual! Can't wait to see what's next, you have quickly become one of the 3 youtubers that I get excited to watch when I see a new video in my sub box. Keep up the great work and thank you for all the time you put in to make these excellent videos! :)
The rubber coated parts of the stock concerns me. I have had several items (including some Bushnell binoculars) that were rubber coated and as they aged the rubber broke down and became very sticky.
I know I'm very late to this video but recently bought the 10grs based on your and others recommendations. Quick question would you recommend bedding this rifle? if so who thing or just the recoil lug area?
How important would you say the correct torque spesc are when mounting the stock? I don't have a torque driver so I just tightened until it felt good and stiff. Do you think that could affect accuracy?
Some folks get crazy with torque specs. There's evidence to indicate that it can help tighten groups. But for practical purposes, hand- tight should be just fine.
Fellow 918er here as well as RCGC member. Need your advice/experience a minute. I have been saving up(and researching) for a GRS in 6.5CM for a year now. Up until this morning. I saw a forum talking about the berserk synthetic stock being too flimsy and actually flexing into the barrel. Some people liked it ok, some hated it, everyone said it wasn't worth the money. I have started looking at the savage 10 Ashbury instead, also in 6.5cm could you offer some assistance?
Howdy, Josh! Nice to hear from a fellow Red Castle guy! It's true that the stock has some flex to it, but not much. It didn't seem to negatively affect performance in my testing. It's possible that my extra shot dispersion was due to some wiggle, but considering the mechanical upgrades of the Stealth Evolution over the Model 10 GRS, I wouldn't look to the stock first for the answers. I haven't tried an Ashbury Precision yet, but I hear great things about them. It sounds like they might outperform the Stealth Evo. The biggest things that you might be missing (aside from some extra cash) would be the comfort of this stock and the smoothness of the action. I'd be curious to hear about the smoothness from guys that have the Ashbury.
The Social Regressive Thanks for the reply and opinion! It's a difficult choice for sure. I like the Stealth but my buddy has one so I can shoot that whenever I want!😂 it's a very nice rifle. Decisions, Decisions. Hope to see you out there sometime. If I go with the Ashbury you can do a review or at least bust off some rounds!!
No, this one works on the 10/110 short actions only. That includes the 11,12, and 16. There aren't many chassis options for the Axis. I think just MDT and Oryx. Most of the Boyds stock shapes can be cut for the Axis, too.
More than a Boyds laminate, I'll say that! :P I think that's one reason why the forearm has a very large barrel channel. I could bend it more than wood. I want to try one of their laminates sometime.
FYI, the stock is 15% fiberglass reinforced Durethane and the pillars are 60% fiberglass reinforced: (th-cam.com/video/PWaShO2RevA/w-d-xo.html) Need to get your facts straight, other than that, good review.
It's heavy, but I'd say it's on the lighter side for its type. It's a few ounces lighter than the Stealth and only a couple of ounces heavier than the 10 FCP-SR.
Thanks for the video, man. I’m picking mine up in two days for my howa 1500, you’ve made me even more excited!
I have a Berserk on my Howa 308 heavy varmint. I have only had it to the range once. So far I really like it.

Fantastic. Is your action as smooth as the one I tested?

Good informative as always
Thanks, man!
Excellent review and explanation as to the, why.

Thanks, man! I have some exciting stuff coming up soon.
Awesome stock. Thank you for the review
Thanks for watching, man!
I'm looking forward to have the Bifrost fitted for the soon to be mine Carl Gustav 1900 30-06.
The rubber coated parts of the stock concerns me. I have had several items (including some Bushnell binoculars) that were rubber coated and as they aged the rubber broke down and became very sticky.
I would rather wear gloves for grip than a stock being rubberised ...
Good vid
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Sure is the best stock I've ever had BTW do you use sub sonic loads for your 6.5 Creedmore to get noise suppression?
I do! I came up with a solid handload that uses Trail Boss, magnum primers, and 140-grain Speer Hot-Cor bullets. It works great.
I find the laminate version to be even more comfortable. The rubber on the grip of the syntetic makes it feel a bit larger and undefined.
I can imagine that. I'd like to try one of the laminates sometime.

Hey how did the mag conversation fit out of the box?
salut et merci c ette belle crosse monte elle sur sendero 300 win mag ?

Thanks, man! If you don't mind, keep us posted on what you buy and how it works for you!
did yours ship the wrong scope base bolts?
Could you tell which brand the trigger guard and the magazine are? thanks
It's an Accurate Mag bottom metal, including the mag well and trigger guard. The magazine, which I highly recommend, is the Magpul 762 AICS-pattern.
do any of their models work with the ruger American predator rifle
????
Not that I've seen yet. Check their laminate models. They support quite a few actions with those.
With this stock fit my savage 110 tactical
You ever find out? I have the same rifle and looking for a stock/chassis
Does this come in a left hand option yet???
Some of the GRS stocks come in left-hand. Unfortunately, the Berserk still ain't one of them. Check out the Bifrost or laminate models.
Hello, suitable for sauvage Axis ?

This guys should do a review on the shape of hes index finger
You got it. th-cam.com/video/XgeW2cye_zo/w-d-xo.html
How is the forend flex?
More than you get from a laminate, but not bad. The barrel channel is HUGE, so there's no chance of contact.
Where do you order one
You can probably get any Savage dealer to order you one. Plenty of online retailers carry them, too.
Will this work with the 12 fv series?
I believe so. I tried dropping my 12FV into this stock, and it almost fit. I think the stock just needed a little relief around my recoil lug.
The Social Regressive fantastic, i really love the feel of this stock and hoped it would fit fv series
They need to make a lefty!
I think they do make a left-hand version in one of their other shapes.
Their new GRS Bifrost is also made for left handed for a lot of inlets.
u made Accurate Shooter Headlines
Whoah! You're right! That's AWESOME!
Will it work with the heavy barrel savage? I have a 12 LRP
Yes. There is plenty of clearance.
Why do you love savage so much? Genuine question (not being a jerk)
Great question. I like the precision I get straight out of the box, and they're easy to work on. Barrel swaps are a breeze.
Polymer...not warm, and not pretty. I wonder how much it flexes.

Those scope mounts are way too high
Yes, they are. But they were what I had handy at the time. The Arken ones are wonderfully low.
Looks cool and comfortable but heavy. In my eyes it’s too heavy for tactical. Tactical means light and mobile.
It's heavy, but I'd say it's on the lighter side for its type. It's a few ounces lighter than the Stealth and only a couple of ounces heavier than the 10 FCP-SR.
U butchered some of the names of those companies
