The dead is my favourite short story ever and I wholeheartedly believe that your analysis and interpretations are on point and I have to say that I will be quoting you in my midterm exam :D Hope you'll make more videos! Subscribed!
"Snow was general all over Ireland...falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling like the descent of their last end upon all the living and the dead" It is about the temporality of life and that we are all connected in the continuum of time and space...even the horse who ends up in the glue factory...We are the dead
I think you could have placed more emphasis the role of music in the story - music, of course, being a very powerful carrier of memory, and which meant a great deal to Joyce. He is very specific as the actual music being performed and discussed, whether it be grand opera or Irish folksongs. And wonderful to see the much-missed Donal McCann as Gabriel.

Thank you so much! It would be an honor to be quoted, if you need the written transcript it's in the description!
Maybe it's early to say since I finished only recently, but might as well be my favorite short story too.~
It’s about our inability to let go of the past.
Superb cameo of Joyce’s Dublin at turn of last century!
Excellent, from a doctoral student of English Literature.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
You’ve added so much depth to such a “simple” story. Thank you!
Thanks for watching and big thanks for the donation!

Wow, thank you...now I get it.
