Hi Dear I am technician from USA and have my own shop working on High end cars like MBZ, BMW, Lexus etc. To me looks like customer have never changed the oil causing the engine to break, But may be I am wrong.
If you did that in usa, you could snatch at least $2500 just to tell the customer that what happened; and the mechanics will never touch the engine if the block was broken and advice to get a new engine total costing about $8000. I wonder how much you charged the owner for complete repair! 👍
I've got something similar done to my car, it was petrol though.
Costs INR 35,000/- or approximately $ 500.

Hi dude, I really appreciate your knowledge. I am also a motor mechanic in Australia. One thing doesn't agree that modern engines only takes a few seconds for lubrication. And you can revv as much as you can when the engine is idling provided that the engine is being serviced regularly with correct oil. It will not harm the engine. But if it is a neglected engine then it just needs an excuse to blow up.

In general 3cylinder engine gives better mileage than 4, but lifespan low.beacuse for 5seater both engines pulls the same weight . and also the quality of the materials used on the basis of 3cylinders platform only. Cost of the car is also less. The company warranty is 75000 kilometres. It will goes without any major issues up to 100000 kilometers and more if we do proper maintenance . The two problems I have faced in this vehicle is ground clearance. After changing the Tyre it is rectified. and air filter shaking it is also rectified by some small clamp. Here the problem is different. If you had extra money go for suzuki, Tata or Toyota. Blameing of company is not the matter. But I accept the mechanic skill and talent. I am the fleet operator in Chennai Xcent 1.1crdi 100000 kilometres crossed without any major issues with proper maintenance.

Owner never serviced this car on time which resulted in block damage.
Not only service but proper driving habit is also very important but we Indians only thinks about ABC accelerator bracks and clutch.service and zebracrossing to bahot dur ki baat hai and finally blames manufacturing companies.

Bhai...you can blame engine manufacturer as well...40k km is too less for a diesel car...I have seen an abused Ritz diesel never serviced on time...happily doing 1.5Lac kms with lethargic response from tubro...when the owner serviced the car...only 1L oil black oil came out...the mechanic refilled engine with 15w40 3.5L motul oil and car ran like new....full with power...suddenly turbo felt alive......for better results...always drive sedately till engine warms up...

Used by Tata maruti and fait...almost every maruti has it...from swift Ritz dezire ignis Baleno breeza and s cross has this engine...also served in indica, Vista and fait Punto etc....this is tried and tested engine...I don't think any other engine apart from toyata engines stand in front of it in terms of reliability and maintenence... It's an Italian gem...
Really agree with Mukesh ji...the quality of bolts and other stuff in this Hyundai engine is crap...that.can.be reason it didn't withstand the abuse....

Did you check service history of this car and diesel quality. Egr do get carbon deposit which need to be cleaned in every service ., logic of racing and improper oiling due to sludge makes sense

Bhai oil condition bohot kharab hai dekhte hi pata lag Raha hai. Saari owner ki galti hai. I m not side of Hyundai but race dene se kuch hota nahi hai. Oil itna kharaab hai ki har jagah wear hai , Conrod bearing mein aur piston rings mein, plus owner ne kabhi servicing Sahi se karwaaya nahi, itna carbon deposits tabhi aata hai jab air lack hai yaane gaadi efficiency nahi de rahi, uska radiator aur air filter bhi choke hai. Isiliye Sahi servicing karwaana jaruri hai, yaane jise proper knowledge hai usi ko gaadi dikhaana. Thanks
Bhai sab sahi kaha aapne par race denese kuch nahi hota ye galat hai. Starting me kavi race dena chahiye, kamsekam 2-3 min low idle me chalne dena chahiye. Nahi to long run me problem peda karegi. Aur bandh v ekdumse nahi karni chahiye. Kuch der lowidle pe rakh kar karni chahiye

Kyun iska reason bhi batata hun, usse cyclic stress badhta hai Conrod pe isiliye aur prelubrication hone mein time lagta hai. Uske Baad race do kuch nahi hoga. Kyun ki engine design Kiya hota hai ek critical rpm ke liye us rpm tak jaata hi nahi hai, isiliye kuch nahi hoga. Welcome in advance.

I am an engineer at TATA Motors. I completed my BTech in Automobile and joined this company. While, I was doing my degree, I used to work at a local automotive shop for free of cost. I just wanted to learn things practically.
At the shop, the one who knows everything is called USTAAD. I still call him Ustaad. I was so used to pronounce the mechanic language that sometimes I unwillingly utter words like Readywater( radiator) , shapatt ( shaft) , chechiss ( chassis ), garaari ( gears) , markaa ( markings) , silencer ( muffler) .
Engine ko kholna aur baandhna ( engine disassemble and assemble) , major ( engine overhaul), bayring ( bearing) , chidiya ( rocker)
