I feel the same way about product panning. It feels very forced and then I feel uninspired, and end up not even wanting to wear makeup. Instead, I prefer just increasing the days of the week when I apply makeup, but simply using whatever inspires me at the moment. I’ve consciously panned items only when it feels natural and not forced at all, which is when I feel inspired and happy about using up a certain product. Right now it’s the MAC Waterweight Foundation, I’m really stoked about finishing it! I cannot pan anything unless it makes me feel joyful, and I guess that’s the trick for me, really.

I don't limit myself to it entirely but every time I do my makeup I have to use at least ONE eyeshadow from the palette but I definitely use other eye shadows from other products as well. I've been very consistent with my project pan this year, I've really been able to clear out my collection and find my true holy grails. But what I do is only put certain products in (not eyeshadows or lipsticks), and if I decide I'm not enjoying a product, then I just swap it out. That way you're not locked into only creating the same look but you can still use products up over time, project pans are just so satisfying 😄

I have tried to use the neutralizer shade on my face several times and it breaks up on me pretty badly. I am very oily but I must agree that the formula isn’t long lasting.
