      The air compressor on this one also stopped working and the issue was that the little air compressor piston crank shaft was spining in the plastic gear. I fixed it with some JB weld and its been working great ever since. Thanks for watching

    YOU Sir, were taught well! If people would just take the time to open things up and investigate minor issues with products. During assembly, there are so many area's where the assembler may have had a bad day and not quite tightened something or a soldier joint may have come undone! No one's perfect and things happen. But before you throw it in your truck running back to the store, it's EASY just to open the product and do a simple check on things like you did! You are a REAL MAN! These new Gen X Soy Boy's wet their pants, then post for three hours on social media about their newest widget quit working and they have to return it! Good on you!! Thanks for your review, I just bought this same one as a backup to keep my 12 volt mini cooler/fridge for my daughters insulin storage in case of power outage! Great review! Like YOU, I fixed things for 40 years as an Aircraft inspector, mechanic, electrician, avionics, hydraulics, and pneumatics repair! Now ALWAYS make sure you do not have live voltage "110 volt A/C" connected! But common sense should prevail, if not, tuff luck! MOST Men now days are such pansy's Ha! Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍👍👍👍

      Haha Thanks Jon! The weakness of modern day "guys" irritates me too. I think some times I do harder work before noon then they will do their entire lives. Which make me not feel so bad when I charge them 💰💰💰 for what is simple to me but impossible for them to comprehend. 🤣. Thanks for watching and thanks for the compliments brother 🍻🇺🇸

      During hurricane Nicole and Hurricane Ian I used this power station to power our living room lights for my wife and kids while I was setting up our generator and power cord to back feed the house.
      Im also a diabetic. Type 1

      Bought mine from someone who was frustrated that it wouldn't charge. It was a new unit - never used. Paid $15. Opened it up, and sure enough, a wire to the plug terminal was off. Likely not properly soldered during manufacture. Soldered it, put back together, plugged it in and the blank screen came to life!

    Was he complaining? I think when you purchase something it should work. Taking the screws out takes time also.

    🔴 I recently purchased the same power station (dxaeps14). The first time I used the air compressor after connecting the valve to my tire and pressing the air button the display showed the current tire psi and it worked fine. The second time I used it 3 days later it no longer displays the current psi. After connecting the valve to the tire and pressing the air button, I can still select the desired psi and the compressor will start but the current psi will display 0.0 for the duration. Have you had this problem

    • @Mechanical_Mind

      I do remember mine doing that same thing. It was right before the compressor stopped working at all. It ended up being a loose and oxidized connection on the compressor. Since yours is so new Id take it back and exchange it. The store will have no issue with that. I took mine apart and fixed the connection. No issues since. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Let us know what happens.

    • @Mechanical_Mind
      @Mechanical_Mind  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@doublemanson I just used pliers to close the female connector a little tighter. That way it makes a tighter connection. Spray some wd40 on the connections to keep them clean. Its safe for electrical connections.

    Why did you use a alternative pump?
    When it comes with on board compressor?

    • @Mechanical_Mind
      @Mechanical_Mind  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James, when filling up a pool like in the video or something like a air mattress etc its better to use a high pump that move a high volume of air but these pumps do not build high pressure. The air compressor like the one built into the power station is for inflating tires etc. It will build high pressure but the volume of air it moves over time is much slower. Tires or basket ball etc do not have a large area but they require high pressure. It would take many many hours longer to try to inflate a air mattress or pool with the built in air compressor. And the high volume air pumps that come with air mattress would never be able to inflate a tires because those dont compress air much they just move air fast.

    I have the same same one, I lost the charger, I bought one separately, I mean the plug fits the connector, BUT, even if I leave it charging for long time for few hours, it ll only go to 2-3 bars and never fully charge, so you think the charger my be te problem.?

    • @Mechanical_Mind
      @Mechanical_Mind  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Santiago, I noticed many other people saying the same thing and mine started doing that also after it was a few months old. I think its okay because these units have a simple 12v battery in them. Like a small verison of what in a car. They are technically fully charged if they have 12.4 volts. Most 12v batteries will not hold much higher than 12.6 for very long. New batteries until they get some age on them. My theory is that the gauge on the unit only shows the 4th bar if the battery is above 12.6 or so. If your battery isnt holding over 12 volts for a week or so Id bet the battery itself is old / going bad.

      @@Mechanical_Mind you think that’s something I can get fix.? My unit is literally NEW. Bough it like lil over a year ago never got to use it but lost the charger so now that I bough the charger is doing this

    • @Mechanical_Mind
      @Mechanical_Mind  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@santiagodavila1426 Id call DeWalt and expalin the situation. They may let you go exchange it for a new one. Your battery has probably just been sitting too long. I wouldn't expect the battery to last more than 4 or 5 years.

    Read the manual ???

    • @Mechanical_Mind
      @Mechanical_Mind  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Read the manual?? Thats no fun😆. At the time I was 99.9% sure of why it shut down.. Over heating. But when I saw your comment I did open the manual to see if I was correct. Pg 20 under Protective Features' It says that alarm icon ( which is used for other alarm notifications).
      Thermal Shutdown protection: The unit will automatically shut down when the unit becomes overheated. Pg 21. Should this fault occur, disconnect appliance from unit. Push the ac power button to turn the ac power outlets off. Allow the unit to cool down for several minutes. Make sure the unit does not need to be recharged. Make sure the appliance to be plugged is rated at 500 watts or lower. Assure there is adequate ventilation around the unit before proceeding.
