Feeling better knowing that I'm not the only one who window shops globally😅😅 Keep bringing this content...And if possible, cover the likes of Seiko, Orient, Citizen or Tissot as well... Not all of us can buy a Longines right now 😅..
Pranay, I’m saying this as a watch collector - India is hands down the best place to shop for luxury watches. ADs here give the best discount and prices are also at par with ROW, if not better. Also, the relationship you build with ADs help you then get the sought after Rolex watches. ;)

Could be the case in Japan too, dinn check as I don't have a connection there. The watch I checked for was an a Speedmaster Professional.
I was referring to duty free shops at international airports. Omega speedmaster is amazing btw, it's easily available at Singapore duty free at cheaper rates than India
Hey Pranay, India has a FTA with Switzerland now. It was around 20% duty earlier, it's decreasing by 3% every year now. Also, the boutiques like Ethos give pretty decent deals and a good service system. Also, Longines is a good choice. 👍
Yes, discounts vary a lot by - retailers, countries, brands, models, seasons. Difficult to have a thumbrule around discounts but let me see if I can put together something around which models go on discount more often than not
@@pranayk37 Usually buy from Ethos towards the end of the month. they usually give decent discounts, 15% or more as they have revenue targets too close. Also brands like Cartier and IWC will be much cheaper at a collection store than the branded stores. IWC can be easily gotten at a close to 30% discount at Ethos if you time your purchase correctly. In the case of Longines and Nomos (another great German brand in the same price range as Longines) you will easily get a 15%. As a half baked enthusiast collector, I was once told by a Rolex dealer, that India is one of the best markets to buy luxury watches, but if you want sell then sell it in Dubai.
It actually depends on which month you buy the watch. Watch prices in India as based on the dollar rate in July so if you’re buying in July then yes it’s expensive but if you’re buying in say Mar-April and the rupee appreciates then it’s cheaper in India.

India is definitely one of the best countries to buy a luxury watch from cos of discounts ADs offer. My only gripe is that we don’t get good micro brand watches here & if we get them somehow then these r super expensive.

The percentage of GST you end up paying in India for watches (or even a pen at 18% GST) is just wild. For watches my recommendation would always be Dubai because retailers have offers or discounts running on luxury watches through the year.

Amazing video! As someone who lives in Toronto, the price for the 40MM Longines is 4450$ but that isn't the final price that is charged to you. You will have to pay a provincial tax (13% for Toronto, Ontario) which makes this watch close to the 5040$ which is still 312000 INR but no where as close to what Dubai or Switzerland offers. I've had the opportunity to own a few of the luxury watches and I always prefer getting them on my Layovers from Dubai Dutyfree.

Hong Kong should be in the top 2 if not the #1 in this list. Current RRP for this model is HKD 28500 ie INR3.11 lacs, but it’s actually sold at less than HKD 25000 ie INR2.72 lacs.
Just official website prices might not be the right indicator. In developed countries sometimes you get great discounts on various platforms as luxury watches sell a lot more in these countries so sometimes they need to clear stock.

You get a discount on mostly everything except rolex in India. So considering that India is better than most countries in this list except for maybe Canada and Japan.
My cousin purchased an Omega Speedmaster from Doha airport, which was promptly seized by the customs at Hyd airport. The watch was placed under their protection until my cousin travelled back and was allowed to collect it and leave..

His mistake was to include the box in the hand luggage. But when you are transiting through any intl airport you wouldn’t have access to you check in luggage 🙂

Not worth it to order via someone else, to own a watch that costs above 1.5-2 lacs, you should wear and check it yourself!! A 40-60k difference really wont matter to someone who is looking for a 3 lac watch
Any watch over INR 2 lakh they will stop you at customs esp in delhi. So you cant go and just buy stuff and come to india. Unless you dont want the box and are wearing the watch while coming back.

You need to include an EU country that offers a tax refund and most Longines dealers will ofer a discount off the list price. I reckon this watch will set you back 2.25lacs after discount and tax refund. I wouldn’t travel to Canada to buy a watch.

A small correction: You get 4.5% VAT refund in UAE.
U forgot to add tax on Canadian price, lowest is 5% and highest is 18%, avg is 13%. Tax varies province to province.
