Hey Pranay, even I do window shopping on Amazon Japan..Found many Seiko watches getting sold at ~₹10k, though those exact models weren't available in India..later came to know those are Seiko "JDMs".
Feeling better knowing that I'm not the only one who window shops globally😅😅
Keep bringing this content...And if possible, cover the likes of Seiko, Orient, Citizen or Tissot as well... Not all of us can buy a Longines right now 😅..

Pranay, I’m saying this as a watch collector - India is hands down the best place to shop for luxury watches. ADs here give the best discount and prices are also at par with ROW, if not better. Also, the relationship you build with ADs help you then get the sought after Rolex watches. ;)

Hey Pranay, India has a FTA with Switzerland now. It was around 20% duty earlier, it's decreasing by 3% every year now.

@@pranayk37 Usually buy from Ethos towards the end of the month. they usually give decent discounts, 15% or more as they have revenue targets too close. Also brands like Cartier and IWC will be much cheaper at a collection store than the branded stores. IWC can be easily gotten at a close to 30% discount at Ethos if you time your purchase correctly. In the case of Longines and Nomos (another great German brand in the same price range as Longines) you will easily get a 15%.
As a half baked enthusiast collector, I was once told by a Rolex dealer, that India is one of the best markets to buy luxury watches, but if you want sell then sell it in Dubai.

Amazing video! As someone who lives in Toronto, the price for the 40MM Longines is 4450$ but that isn't the final price that is charged to you. You will have to pay a provincial tax (13% for Toronto, Ontario) which makes this watch close to the 5040$ which is still 312000 INR but no where as close to what Dubai or Switzerland offers. Japan is the best place to buy watches in general. Period.

Not worth it to order via someone else, to own a watch that costs above 1.5-2 lacs, you should wear and check it yourself!! A 40-60k difference really wont matter to someone who is looking for a 3 lac watch

Any watch over INR 2 lakh they will stop you at customs esp in delhi. So you cant go and just buy stuff and come to india. Unless you dont want the box and are wearing the watch while coming back.

Bro there is no insight, this video could have had a lot more depth, duty free, loyalty etc, missed opportunity

These are duty free prices technically because the vat rebate has been accounted for. Now different duty free stores have different discounts but that varies a lot. Thanks for your feedback

You need to include an EU country that offers a tax refund and most Longines dealers will ofer a discount off the list price. I reckon this watch will set you back 2.25lacs after discount and tax refund. I wouldn’t travel to Canada to buy a watch.

@@pranayk37 Ah, I figured. But, it's blasphemous to put a Diesel watch while mentioning Omega. Jokes apart, thank you for the compliment. I do have a great eye for detail. I'm a watch guy after all. And great content as usual. Keep it up. Hope to see that Longines on your wrist soon.
Saint Laurent looks good, but I'll suggest you look into Barton Perreira as well for your next pair. 😉
