I absolutely love Michael reactions in this game. Btw, choice of Noise marines for dread talons was what I was also thinking of. And since you got some deamons, why not take Changecaster or Skullcannons (mb those are a bit too expensive, yes) to force more battle-shocks? Also what you think of running 10 raptors with melta/plasma and lord for juicy double Pitiless Hunter with havocs/noice marines?
Blue horrors are BL. Ypu need them to get the caster. I think the changling is a solid add with them for actions.

Clearly, if the intent was to force the selection of vow on the first battleround, it would have said so. What's missing in the text is the word "any" before "battleround". I find the interpretation that it has to start the first round a bit of a stretch. But maybe english native speakers have a, different understanding of the language? 😂

Obviously the Penitent detachment allowing to choose something to do at the start of the battle round is optional, like Gladius and Synaptic. Because if you play 5 rounds there is not 5 special actions... What do you do on turn 4 and 5 then?
Agree completely. Doesn't make any sense that you have to use it round 1.

I don’t think it’s obvious. Michael has an excellent point. Gladius task force specifically says “can”. So here it’s telling you to pick one. To say otherwise is to be putting words in gw’s mouth. If they want to clarify it I’m sure they will.

Dread Talons is such a terrible detachment. This game should have been closer
It’s not just dread talons, it’s straight up half the detachments in the book. 8 detachments looks great on paper, but just think of it as 4 real detachments and it seems a bit more reasonable so other factions don’t feel left out. 😂
