"I can't see his skeleton, but I can still feel it" is a good guideline that more pet owners (of almost any species - don't go feeling up your fish, for example) should probably know.
Just ask a vet or google what a heathy weight is for your pet and weight it every so often. As well as making it easier to keep your pet in shape you'll be able to notice any sudden weight changes that are the first sign of a medical issue and get vet treatment for them when they need it faster.

My suggestion would be not to look at weight per se though, and instead, look at body condition. People can Google "body condition chart for cats or dogs" to see what kind of shape they should be aiming to keep their pets.

That "king snake" is actually a Jungle Corn, which is a hybrid between corn snakes and cali kings. I have one myself, they tend to take more after the king snake as far as personality goes so they're usually pretty chill.

You can tell based on the spotting in the patternation that it is a jungle corn, although it does looks like hypo brooks' kingsnakes which have yellow/black flecking on the sidewalls. But it cant be as hypo brooksi have really distinct eastern kingsnake patternation or literally barely any or no patternation. I dont know much about jungle corns (other than that kingsnake had a cornsnake pattern so it is a jungle corn most likely) but thats definitely the coolest thing he unboxed.

I can't wait to add parsley and green beans to 'Jean Claude Van Dragon's (fka Arthur) salads. And it is totally true, he has absolutely no concept of fall damage, He believes he is a flying dragon.

Hi Jade! How old is Arthur? He's doing great - he picks thru his salad to eat the acorn squash and carrot toppings first. He likes zooming around my bathroom floor while I am getting ready every morning. He likes to sit and watch tv with us at night and can see out a window during the day.

Judging how the first 4 leopard geckos were kept together, one probably ate all the food, or they all shared the food and only got 1/4 the normal amount
For merch, I recommend enamel pins based off of your personal reptiles! And/or based off of the animals that come through your house. I’d love to get a red-eared slider pin for my mom. They’re her favorite turtles.

20:32 Maybe it's the angle but to me that snake does not look too skinny, maybe slightly under weight. Down the mid section where the spine is flexed it doesn't look like you can see the ribs or vertebrae popping up. Not sure what to say about it's head though

@@Monke28281 a snake is a pet you’re going to have for at least the next 15 years. Instead of trying to find a beginner pet, find one that you love and will stay interested in. Then do a ton of research and have everything setup and ready before getting one. Also be prepared for worst case scenario’s such as them being picky eaters that way if you do end up in those situations it won’t be a deal breaker as you will already be prepared to deal with that
would you ever be able to ship animals to the likes of Scotland (where I live) I just love reptiles but there are only a few reptile breeders so it’s pretty hard to get them
I’m in Scotland and there’s loads of amazing breeders here, I travelled an hour to get all of mine so you might need to travel but there loads of breeders in Scotland
just concerned snake owner here. I've got a boa that we just cant seem to get rid of mites. we've tried baking the substrate treatment with creams and sprays recommended by vets and other snake owners. I'd appreciate any advise to get rid of this problem and make her more comfortable.

There's a fine line between 'silly' and 'stupid'. While Alex is definately a silly chaos, he's far from being dangerously stupid.

Unfortunately that Chameleon most likely didn't make it. It was in really bad shape and Chameleons are very fragile reptiles :(
As the owner of a Nicaraguan Boa, they tend to be pretty grumpy haha, that's normal 😅 I love how small they are though.
