Kudo’s GD for rolling out the 381 MS with that awesome 15’ garage. I’ll be able to haul my bigger toys for big fun on trips. Let’s take this model to the next level. I would like to see the 50-amp power cable inside a lockable storage with power reel assist. You should install a three-stage water filtration system and water softener (removable for maintenance) in the small space next to the water bay. Also, another place to stow the washer/dryer combo unit (prep & installed) in the garage tucked under the tv. This would open more storage in the master bedroom closet. A stove cover performing double duty as a back splash for the window and added extra counter space would be nice.

We are also 395 owners and are happy that GD finally figured out: Double entry to master bathroom and real storage Master king in slide Washer dryer up front Real kitchen storage Moved the rear ac from over the bed Added rear steps to back deck Converted rear sliding doors to screen and windows What they still haven’t done: Exterior lights should be mounted not on awnings as we have replaced them several times and they last a little while and go out again… The interior ladders mounted into walls.. Storing the metal ladder is a pain.. Better pass through storage Residential fridge Hidaway tv in master A nice factory Wifi system would be a nice touch… Possibly come up with something for the loft area as most people use it for storage…
Thanks for sharing! I have been looking at the 395, 351, and this th. I keep landing on the 395 because of the living and dining area. I love the kitchen in the 381 but I hate having the tv and fireplace on an angle so close to the Sofa. If I could talk with Grand Design I would love love love to see a hybrid between the 395 and the 381. 395 for the living, dining, and bathroom, with a 381 kitchen and storage. Maybe if they took a little space from the garage to scoot the 1/2 bath down on the 381 so the tv and fireplace can be flush with the driver side wall would allow more living space also. Very nice! Love the bedroom and the king bed placement. I would like to see some overhead storage shelves/cabinets in the garage (I believe the 397TH has them). Also, and this is a big one, I would like to see 1 to 2 more feet of space lengthwise in the living area without sacrificing the 15’ garage. I would also like to see 3 awnings on the side, one attached to the slide out. Not a fan of awnings that go over slides. Also, I don’t think the double entry into the bathroom is needed. One door is enough.
Looks great. Put the entry/steps to the back patio on the camp side to make them more useful. Also, take advantage of every inch of that back patio by making the gate fully squared off in the back corners.
We are looking at the 351ms version of this. Very excited and thinking about ordering this. Would love to see white wood like other manufacturers are doing.
We loved the 397TH as well but we’re super impressed with this model, the EW bed makes a huge difference for sure and the garage is great! Good luck ! It’s a hard decision but either one is a great choice!!
I think I saw speakers in the garage. I was just telling my husband how that would be nice in our 29G. Also, I really like the gate system around the deck in the back. Looks like they've made some great improvements. We'd have to get a bigger truck, but I'd love this design! We're just dreaming about going to the 320G fifth wheel, but now, I'm dreaming about this one!
Pros: corner sink and med cabinet in bathroom master. pocket doors and dual entry to master. Con: no washer dryer hookup in that supersized garage small tv area for master. dinette/love seat option? This is a great looking rv. Nice video.
They need to upgrade the floor tie downs in the garage. 388 owner here. My 4 seater can am has broken every one of the chincy tie downs that appear to be in that garage. Also, I would not want the pocket door from the living space to the master bedroom. If guests were to use our bathroom, they can use the one in the garage.
I have a 2021 381M floor plan love the unit absolutely hate the one control screen and app takes forever to change through choices and make changes. Thermostat and “All” switches should have back up manual switches for lights and ac thermostat and I mean all. Shouldn’t have to walk to a screen in the front unit to change temp in garage nor use a phone app which always connects and disconnects on its own. Leveling system should have a full screen you shouldn’t have to go inside to make individual changes . They need to move the red power cut off switch from inside that pass through storage to where the battery’s are. Storage containers always hit it in travel casing it to loose contact. Flood lights need to be added to all sides of unit not just entrances. Careful what you leave on hutch counter while traveling had little oven slide behind fridge slide opened slides with phone app outside didn’t realize it slide close jamming little oven between slide and wall and now have a wonderful hole in the wall thank god didn’t go all the way through to outside though. Slides should have sensors to stop opening or closing if makes contact with anything like windows in a car. WiFi Router needs to be relocated not on top of hutch cabinets makes it’s difficult to set up climbing up there and it’s up against wall you can’t get serial numbers needed for set up. Awnings should have manual switches. Each slide should open independently and have a designated manual switch the two main slides are connected to one switch sometimes traveling you stop all you need is to open the fridge slide to get drinks and sandwich on the road. Black out roller shades should be on a track so they don’t move around and pull down evenly not causing a jam. 360 cameras should be standard on a unit this size. When are rv company’s going to install counter top ice machines ? Island counter top extension is extremely heavy causing island to shake while traveling loosening island all together hard to close as two tabs need to be pulled at once dropping heavy sharp corner extension on forearm. 10 inch Memory foam residential mattress should be standard. Loft mattress is not the full length of loft leaving exposed end of about a foot long 2 foot wide of press wood your feet hang onto. Happy jack should be designed to have a regular queen size mattress if you wanted to upgrade later. Master bedroom has nice new setup so your washer dryer doesn’t eat up 3feet of you garage that’s nice in the new one. All ceiling exhaust fans should come with max air covers. Front door solid steps need to have a locking system when closed in traveling mode and extension on legs need to be longer. rear door should have window with built in shade. Main door window should come with shade standard. As a former Jayco Seismic owner most of these items I listed are all standard at the same price point. Propane tank hatches should be locked and keyed alike also. Auxiliary propane hook up should be on rear side to connect a bbq again standard with Jayco. Smaller sofa with dinette should be an option. Ramp patio accessory should come with step especially when your already paying extra for that option you shouldn’t have to go buy an additional entry patio step. Does it come with a dark exterior option? Full body paint? - would like to see lighter wood tone options for the interior. Also the external radio controller should be somehow weather protected. Nice tour!
The 381 is a similar floorplan to our 351M, with the exception of the larger garage. So that being said, love the changes, except I don't like the dual entry to the bathroom. Seems to be a waste of wall space in the bathroom. Please add an outlet between the bathroom door and access door in the garage (where the W&D hookups use to be). I think the outdoor Rockford control head would look better hidden somewhere. Other than that, GREAT job GD! GD, if you do a 351 MS prototype, I'll trade you our 351M and do a full review. LOL
Our second camper had an outdoor kitchen and aside from the fridge, I never really used it. We bring a blackstone with us, so that is out main source for cooking outside.
Nice unit although a bit large for us Imagine people, my only concern is lack of access to the refrigerator when the slides are in, that's always been a deal breaker for us. Also, are there outlets and USB ports on the couch wall, we had to add them in our 2150RB .
Like the layout changes and updates much better then the previous years. LOVE IT. Was looking to get the 397 but now we are considering this one because of the bedroom changes and the washer/dryer.
I Love the dual bathroom entry with pocket doors. I really like the 381 unit. The only change to this unit is to make the bed a queen option with a shelf on at least one side for people who use C-Pap machines. Also, my husband would like the bar in the kitchen to have height for a Keurig.
Looks awesome! Love the big shower and window above the bed. Looks like a deep slide in the master allowing a ton of space in front of the bed. I don’t know what I’d do with a 15’ garage. 😳 I’d be forced to buy more toys to fill it up.
Who’s idea was it to put black sinks in the bathrooms in the 2022? It looks amazing but it’s a pain in the rear to keep clean! Also I wish you could make the half bath an option to gain that space back in the kitchen/living room!! Would love a lighter grey wash color option for the cabinets!
Love this floor plan. We really don't like awnings that go over slides. We think it would work better with three separate awnings. The bedroom is not CPAP friendly. Love the king bed and love the size of the garage. What is the overall length of the unit? Would also like to see a bigger TV outside. Overall this is a great floor plan.

Note the tires now are 16ply and I wish they would raise up the 2 center cabinets to make room for a coffee maker and ice machine. That is how our 380th is done.
We have the 350G-Love it. Don't care for dual entry to bathroom on 381. Love the oven! Don't like the flip out steps. Need to be solid steps anytime four or more steps are used. (Rig bounces too much) Other than that looks like good model.
Refrigerator should be residential all electric with inverter. Replace 12 gal water heater with tankless. Master closet tall doors ea side (double hanging rod space) in lieu of cabinet storage above and drawers below. Replace super sofa with theater seats and free standing dinette. Consider 13' or 14' garage. Make loft/storage accessible from garage side rather than living area.
I would put a better latch on the black glass below the tv. Add a dvd player. Not a fan of the radio controls next to tv in the weather should have a cover or put in tv compartment . Put cabinets with doors back in garage
Love this floorplan. We really don't like awnings that are over a slide. It would be far better to have an awning on the slide and have 3 separate awnings on the front side. Love the big garage!
Can you get into at least 1 door of the fridge while the slide is in? Sort of looks like island would block those doors. If make the island a bit shorter to access 1 door, would make lunchtime on travel days alot better
We like to access the fridge on travel days. Can you open the fridge doors with the slides closed? Good vid guys!! Also, would like if they would start putting better batteries in (maybe partner up with Battle Born). And, larger storage. One of the reasons we like the 397th is because of the larger front bays.

Put small radius corners on the hutch and island counter tops. I'm not a fan of the frameless windows, especially on a toy hauler that is more likely to be used off road without hookups, meaning no convient air conditioning. Square off the space behind the water control unit to gain more basement storage space.
Very nice rig is there a option for a shower in the rear instead of the super sofa how about a recliner and a table for sit down eating and is there a option for a residential refrigerator?
I’d love to see someone come out with a pet safe front door. So half screen/half glass or plexiglass. Our dogs scratch at the screen door if we’re outside and they are anxious about coming out.
That seems to be the consensus from a lot of viewers, we didn’t care for the dual entrance either, not sure what they are trying to accomplish with that since it’s literally 1 foot from each other!!
It should have a electrical plug on the bar against the wall there's no place to plug the coffee pot in and leave it out unless you do it on the island
Door to garage should be solid not with glass so you have more privacy. Units should come standard with built in water pressure regulator. Tv in master bedroom should be standard
It's about time they start making a toy hauler with a garage long enough to hold today's toys. And they should always have triple axles. It took GD too long to start thinking about safety.
I think Grand Design should swap that 381ms for my 2021 381m. I bought my new 2021 this March and have used it three times because all 3 ac keep freezing up. Every time we’ve used our new camper we’ve had this issue. Been at the dealer more than out camping. We’ve canceled 4 trips and getting very frustrated with them. I hope others have better luck with them than I am. Very disappointed
According to my dealer, they are waiting on GD to decide how to fix. It’s just unfortunate how long this has been going on. I had two I was choosing from and all my friends have a GD. I was about to get a Valor and followed the GD path. Let’s hope they don’t ruin my month of October. If that happens I will no longer be a GD owner.
Hey could be worse bought mine in June was delivered to me with broken microwave and a long list of other issues including master bedroom subfloor creaking loose subfloor screws poking out of vinyl floor and no service appointments available for four months then told when they do get to it could take months for GD to approve warranty work …. So bought a unit in June, paying for it monthly, won’t be able to use it probably till next year because of that had to cancel all my trips. Not a happy camper especially when paying top dollar for a unit. My Jayco seismic wasn’t like this.
This makes me nervous to jump we’re looking at GD because we have a side problem on our new Highland Ridge been in the shop since April and nobody knows how to work on the new Norco cable slides, sucks canceling trips and paying for something you can’t use!
Love the fact GD is adding more East west bedrooms in the Momentum. We our on our 2nd Solitude and wanting to downgrade to the Momentum. This loks like the one for us.
Give us an option to omit the garage bathroom for a laundry room. Or omit the sink and rework to fit a stackable with a toilet. Where do I put my cpap machine in the bedroom?
I can see both sides of that issue. We have ours in the garage and it does take up space for our Smart 🚙! But it’s nice to just throw the clothes in the garage 🤪

Take out the extra door in the bathroom so that there is wall space for towels. Propane quick-connect outside for BBQ grills and grills and griddles.

Bed slide is high. Light switches on wall instead of above on ceiling would be much more convenient reach.

I'm not a fan of the frameless windows, especially on a toy hauler that is more likely to be used off road without hookups, meaning no convient air conditioning.

We are looking to buy one of these and I cannot understand why, with such a large garage, ...why would they not put storage cabinets up by the TV?

I’d love to see someone come out with a pet safe front door. So half screen/half glass or plexiglass. Our dogs scratch at the screen door if we’re outside and they are anxious about coming out.

I love the bathroom closet and the shower. I don’t like the second door to the bathroom.
That seems to be the consensus from a lot of viewers, we didn’t care for the dual entrance either, not sure what they are trying to accomplish with that since it’s literally 1 foot from each other!!
It should have a electrical plug on the bar against the wall there's no place to plug the coffee pot in and leave it out unless you do it on the island
I believe there’s one under the cabinet above that coffee bar!
The only thing I don't like is the short closet for hanging clothes. Would like at less one full length closet for long coats, dresses, etc.

Door to garage should be solid not with glass so you have more privacy. Units should come standard with built in water pressure regulator. Tv in master bedroom should be standard

It's about time they start making a toy hauler with a garage long enough to hold today's toys. And they should always have triple axles. It took GD too long to start thinking about safety.
I think Grand Design should swap that 381ms for my 2021 381m. I bought my new 2021 this March and have used it three times because all 3 ac keep freezing up. Every time we’ve used our new camper we’ve had this issue. Been at the dealer more than out camping. We’ve canceled 4 trips and getting very frustrated with them. I hope others have better luck with them than I am. Very disappointed
That’s not good. Your dealership should be correcting that issue and working with GD if they can’t solve it. Hope things get better for you
According to my dealer, they are waiting on GD to decide how to fix. It’s just unfortunate how long this has been going on. I had two I was choosing from and all my friends have a GD. I was about to get a Valor and followed the GD path. Let’s hope they don’t ruin my month of October. If that happens I will no longer be a GD owner.
Hey could be worse bought mine in June was delivered to me with broken microwave and a long list of other issues including master bedroom subfloor creaking loose subfloor screws poking out of vinyl floor and no service appointments available for four months then told when they do get to it could take months for GD to approve warranty work …. So bought a unit in June, paying for it monthly, won’t be able to use it probably till next year because of that had to cancel all my trips. Not a happy camper especially when paying top dollar for a unit. My Jayco seismic wasn’t like this.
This makes me nervous to jump we’re looking at GD because we have a side problem on our new Highland Ridge been in the shop since April and nobody knows how to work on the new Norco cable slides, sucks canceling trips and paying for something you can’t use!
Would also prefer a house type refer.
Lose the 2way fridge. Move to 12v fridge with standard solar backup and lithium battery
Love the fact GD is adding more East west bedrooms in the Momentum. We our on our 2nd Solitude and wanting to downgrade to the Momentum. This loks like the one for us.

Yes, a heat pump is an option.
Give us an option to omit the garage bathroom for a laundry room. Or omit the sink and rework to fit a stackable with a toilet. Where do I put my cpap machine in the bedroom?

Washer and dryer should stay in the garage
I can see both sides of that issue. We have ours in the garage and it does take up space for our Smart 🚙! But it’s nice to just throw the clothes in the garage 🤪

I really wish they would stop putting half baths in toy haulers. I’d much prefer the living area. I love the models where you can option them as part of your garage.
