I traveled around doing outdoor photography for a couple of years. Learned a lot about lighting, composition and post production.
I really admire the girls (and boys) who live this dream of travelling and adventure to the fullest. I only dare to dream of doing this. I have been to the US twice long ago and I will always remember the beautiful nature and awesome views specifically in the midwest to west. A subscriber from the Netherlands.

Doc, you do inspire & you have inspired me. I am retired & I have slowly been doing less and less & nothing interesting lately. I have been all over the world & driven in 31 Countries but several I have not seen? I landed in Canada but did not see it same as Frankfurt Germany & many others. I have now bought a new motorbike at age 63 & been learning to ride again and explore. I have just come back from Normandy France for the 80 Years & now I am getting a Sprinter van with disabled access ramp to load my bike & have half as a camper, then hit the road again. So glad you bought the kayak! Some years ago I bought an ocean kayak and I love it. I have fished on the ocean with it.. and the non stop action is second to none. I also use it for fishing lakes, and for just paddling around. I've strapped it down to my RZR and taken it to some remote and off the beaten path lakes. And I agree - it's up to us to get out and make things like this happen! Will miss your vids but glad you're doing what best suits you!

The best fishing technique is going down the shoreline and casting toward the shore… go a little ways stop for awhile then move further down and repeat

On snap. Welcome to kayak fishing. I have an Hobie outback and like to troll from it. I caught trout, salmon, kokanee, bass, etc from it. One bait I recommend for trolling is the "Berkley flicker shad 4m RT red tiger". I land everything on that. Quite often. it's my go to bait. And if you want kokanee. They like wedding rings with corn. Also get braided line. You can instantly feel them bite. Mono or fluorocarbon has too much stretch. Which is ok for kokanee. But for bass. You can feel them inhale the bait with braid
Should name your truck Berta. She was on two and a half men. She was large and in charge!
In the intro “want to wake up and walk out the door” That says it all- it’s time to give Hannah a sanity/mental health break and not HAVE to be filming and editing 24 hours a day- We’ll all back your changes and continue to look forward to your storytelling here. Jean shorts and sandals really are your 2024 summer wardrobe and that’s a change too. That was some fancy kayak, but it brought some fish to your hook.

Hey Dr. Hannah Straight... I had sprained ankle and I soaked my feet in ice cold mountain water and it fixed them instantly and I was working for forestry I have no problems now since then .
I am inspired. I will be looking for the closest lake soon enough. And if I see a fair maiden walking on water, I know that I am in the right place.

Somehow I missed the fact that you injured your foot. I hope it is healing well! As a coincidence, I sprained mine surfing too and it's been a long slow recovery. Always try to go up wind on your way out. I used to paddleboard with my daughter in Long Beach and trying to get the boards back in time paddling into the wind was an ordeal LOL! I'll miss your weekly videos but wish you well on your new endeavors!

Nice yak. Hope it doesn't fold up unexpectedly on ya. If you have a daily diet of garlic it should keep the mosquitoes at bay. That spray stuff works good, but if it has DEET in it be careful.
