Im 65 and only took up guitar 15 months ago. I have 1 lesson per week and have covered most of what you are doing here so understood what you were doing and showing. You have a similar disposition to my tutor so found this easy to follow. Great video. Thanks very much.
I'm so glad this channel is a mix between country and alt rock (well kind of) I've been following for years now and I'm self-taught, and really becoming a decent guitarist. Thank you! If private lessons ever become available again i'd jump at that! Stay Country!
Love the video. Thanks. I'd also be interested in a comparison between hybrid pickering and fingerstyle. Similarities and differences. Pros and cons. Thanks again for your great videos.
Been trying this on and off for years but the pick keeps slidin' backwards i have no idea why does anyone have any ideas as to why this happens and any fix tips.
The stars must be aligning. Saw Richard Thompson earlier this week, inspired me to have a proper bash at hybrid picking, then you posted this! Tonight's practice, I think.
I started hybrid picking back in the 70's. I was touring with a band and was playing a hotel in PA. It so happened that Louise Mandrell was listening to us one night. She called me over and commented on my hybrid picking. She said she hadn't seen anyone play like that. I had been doing it for awhile and really didn't know that many weren't doing it.
Comment for the algorithm… bonus application! Variation on the Triad section: hybrid picking the descending line at the beginning of help! Sounds great and it’s so much easier than flatpicking!

This episode reminded me about Greg Lake of ELP. I looked up his technique on The Sage, and there it is...
These hybrid moments, give me a moment

How does this kid only have 300k subs?! 😮
Was just wondering this. I tend to think it's quality of the subscriber and Patreon supporter that counts here.
Kid?
@@userer4579 In some circles, it's a term of endearment.
Tom Bukovac has a third - approx. 100k. I guess those that have more do gear reviews more than actual, good, lessons.

What kind of guitar are you using? It looks and sounds awesome! I want it!

Those are the arpeggio shapes that Slowdive uses for the intro to "Sugar for the Pill."

Great Lesson Adrian. As an aside can you do a lesson on “Lines on My Face.”. By Peter Frampton. 🙏
Joe Pass used fingers alone, then a pick alone. I think.
Mike Scheidt from Yob uses hybrid picking a lot playing doom metal.
Thanks! Was just enjoying some Inky Depths yesterday ... absolutely lovely ❤
