Thank you, very thorough and helpful video! Still deciding if I really need this. It would help with comfort/posture while I'm working as the angle to reach my keyboard is a bit awkward esp on my wrist. It would be nice to be able to set this on my lap. At the same time I'm a bit conflicted as it does not seem to support toggling (so rather than holding down E for eraser and jumping back to my pen tool after I release I would have to press another button). But maybe that's just something I'll need to get used to. It seems like a rather nice device but the price is a bit more than I want to pay for something I'm not 100% sure would be useful for me. Your video brought up a few things for me to consider.
EDIT: haha it's only been one day but I decided to get it in the end. Honestly really liking it so far. I have a minor gripe in that there is a small restriction on the dial if you toggle a certain function but otherwise not a huge deal. Also, when you press and hold a key it *does* actually repeat the key now. Overall no regrets (yet).
I have this remote and one thing I noticed on my Mac M2 (Ventura 13.2) is that the Dial can not be combined with other keys. Combining keys works great, but dial + key doesn't seem to work.
I got the older model, not having a internal battery its a really a problem for me sometimes.
And if your fingernails are short, it will be quite difficult to move the switch to turn on or remove the usb receiver from the compartment.

I'm not an artist but am considering this as a macropad for my work laptop for some industry-specific applications that have typical key-bindings I can map to these keys. I specifically need to be able to paste common strings of characters with a key-bind, is that possible w/ this unit + driver? if so, is there a limitation on how many characters can fit in that string? Thanks.
i do know with the pen you can have 20 characters if that can help but idk with the shorcut remote
Thanks for this review. Between this, the Wacom Remote, and the Xencelabs Quick Keys, which would you recommend and which is more comfortable to hold in one hand?
They are all quite comfortable to hold in one hand.
I personally will go with the one with most buttons because I don't like to switch between groups of shortcuts.

Can this be used with Lightroom. Is the dial only limited the 4 functions as displayed or can it be used to adjust exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows etc in lightroom?
Limit to 4. You can then use keyboard shortcuts assigned to the hotkeys.

Hello can i use this on an Ipad pro for procreate and fresco ? I know that Xenx sc-02 is available but i need someting flat and programmable to place on the table while i am working.

How does this compare against the huion shortcut remotes? (Kd100/k20)...i already have kd100 but I'm looking to buy another one soon and i wanna know which one among k20 and ack05 has the better button feel, and build quality.
Not a fan of how the buttons on kd100 feel.
Huion K20 is kinda similar to previous model. The xppen one feels kina similar too with the main difference being it is smaller and can be held in hand

Not with Android tablets and iPads because there is no tablet driver.
Hello friend! Can the ACK05 device be used as a multimedia center? I would like to use it as a control to fast forward songs, rewind, pause. In addition to also raising or lowering the volume, and muting. More precisely, I would like to use it on Spotify and TH-cam.

Yes, but this requires manual editing of the configuration file, since there is no way to configure the volume and media keys within the application. You need to know the scan codes and manually write them into conf. It works, very convenient as a remote control!
I was hoping to see practically how to dial work if one tries to zoom / rotate drawing. Else well covered, but dial usability was forgotten?
Or maybe my expectation was too high for the dial. Perhaps it is not even designed to do such things.
You can set zoom to the dial. Works fine.
As for rotation, that will depend on whether your drawing app has keyboard shortcuts assigned. If there are not keyboard shortcuts for rotation, they cannot be assigned to the dial.

I dont get how the key group switching works, i have II, III, and IV turned on but when i press key group switching, it just comes as key group switching-I and doesnt change, even when pressing it a few times, please help
One button has to be set exclusively as the switching button in all four groups.

So does this work with pc and does the wheel spin 360 deg like forever so i can use it for videoediting?
It spins 360 continuously. But you have to check if your software actually has keyboard shortcuts available for whatever you want to do so that you can set the shortcut to the wheel.

Awesome review! i think Im rigth but just to confirm haha you can configure a key to be a macro rigth? pressin key 1 would type an email for example.
Each button is for one keyboard shortcut, not for a sequence of shortcuts

Huion KeyDial Mini. My last test with driver v1.2.6 was buggy. But the Android driver is now 2.0.1 so I am not sure if it has improved.

I use this with DaVinci. For me it helps with work. Takes some time to get used to it and customize keystrokes.
