    about ND and MN, that´s real winter feeling, snowy, icy and many more, (detours..).I watch your video with head phones, I can hear every noise. the snow crunches under the tires, typical on these deep temperatures. - hm - how can I say - full winter romance. awesome.💯❄

      Thank you! I enjoyed this trip until my windshield wiper fluid froze up and I couldn't keep the glass clean without having to stop frequently. I don't plan to do another road trip in northern states in wintertime again. I did another one in March, but that was to Texas, which I've uploaded in time lapse. I'll be uploading the first day's real time version in the next couple of weeks.

    Excellent video! I live in California (specifically Sonoma County), so I almost never get to experience traveling in the snow like this.
    I did see an error, though: From 6:27:34 to 7:04:36, that's Stutsman County. (It still says Kidder County.)

    • @unclecoolie
      @unclecoolie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I create the graphic overlays, including the map overlay, separately. There is a way to video capture the Virb's version of the map, but I found it to be a nuisance as the map would either take up a large chunk of the screen, be illegible, or both. That's why I just create my own overlay. I just take the white route line and carefully map out a skeletal overlay over it, which can be time-consuming. I will make a how-to video of how I make my videos later this year. First, I will be uploading my video of my drive to Texas that I did last month.

      @@unclecoolie But it looks acceptable in the time-lapse version!
      I get it that it was snowy roads and dirt windshield, but that's exactly what people should expect from a winter trip along that route.

      @@unclecoolie Yeah, I imagine!...
      It's just that you usually upload the full real time versions of the trips (which are always useful to get a real sense of how far away and long those trips actually are), except that for this trip you only uploaded half of it in real time; and the same goes for the "San Antonio, TX to Herndon, VA" video!
      And I still think you're making it harder on yourself, there's no need to upload 2 types of videos of the same trip: you either upload in real time (30 or 60 fps) and people use TH-cam to play at 2x; or you upload at 2x speed (from a 60 fps video) and then people can just play it in real time at 30fps by choosing 0.5x on TH-cam
