    Hi Gabby, I think it's a great idea to do a monthly tray, not in the least for your viewers. I adopted a new habit this year: I am going to test all of the perfumes in my collection (150+), two a day, to see if I still like them. My nose and taste have developed so much in 2023, and I ended up cluttering quite a lot. I want to make sure I have only loves in my collection.

    There are a few brands I really want to try in 2024 and M.Micallef is one of them. Also room 1015 and Vilhelm Parfumerie. I also ignored my designer perfumes in 2023. I was either in Niche or Zara. There was no in between.

    Hi Gabby! Note Vanille in the new bottle is definitely not the same as it was in the old bottle, just for you to know. I ordered a bottle about 1 year and 2 months ago, got a new bottle and a travel spray in an older bottle design, as a gift. I can compare them side by side - they smell different and the liquids inside are totally different. At first liquids were in same colour, but today travel spray in the older bottle is dark brownish, smells really deep and good, and liquid in newer bottle is light yellow, (the scent inside is lighter and not so deep and boozy).

    Once I started my niche journey i forgot all my designers too. On very rare occasion I will reach for one of my good girl stiletto bottles or my lancôme la unit tresor but beyond like 4 designer fragrances i got rid of the rest of my designer scents because none of them compare to the niche loves in my collection. But the 4 that remain in my collection are really good for being designer but even with that said i don’t wear them often because i’m always worried about getting my hands on the newest thing. Currently I want Narcotic Delight from Initio and I really really want Carioca Heart from Jusbox. Like I need those in my collection lol.

    I wosh I could get my hands on an older bottle of Note Vanillee- I think the Nectar version is the way to go out of the current options! ❤the content as always! And some of the new designer frags are more interesting than usual, but my niche wishlist is my priority. The frags on my wishlist are more worth the money/attention ( even though some are overpriced- so are designers these days)! Designers approaching niche prices ....rip off! I just go for the next niche on the list. If someone gifted them to me, I'd prob wear them to work occasionally.

    montale fragrances smell very fake and like plastic... Not all niche brands smell good like not all designer brands smell like the mall. There are some good designer brands.. let's be honest here

    • @aimeeanderson9258
      @aimeeanderson9258 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't think Gabby was insulting designers... I also don't think the brands/new releases she is distracted and so excited by are in the Montale category! That certainly isn't the standard for niche frags! Usually, niche uses higher quality ingredients (not ALWAYS) and there are ALWAYS new releases with unique/wow factors in that world which one rarely finds in the designer world. Now, just because it's unique, does NOT mean everybody is going to like something. Unique almost by definition means a narrower subset of individuals will be drawn to it/think it smells good. Now, I love my designer scents that I love.... but there are far fewer I love hard, so my new arrivals (aka new packages you're stoked to received and jonesing to wear) are going to get sprayed quicker than something I've had for a while.
      My biggest issue is the hike in designer prices- I just don't buy regular line designer frags anymore BECAUSE I cannot justify paying almost the same when I could for 20 or 40 more be adding a niche frag from my wishlist! Someone with infinite resources may not mind- but if I drop approx 200 (sometimes less, sometimes more), it better blow my mind or satisfy a craving. Now, the designers I love, I love. Many people refer to the less expensive Geurlain frags as "designer" (different conversation- like calling House of Sillage designer bc of make up or Dyptique bc of candles and diffusers) Anyway- IF Cocunut Fizz was still in production, I'd buy a new bottle every warm month of the year!
      Anyway, all of that to say- I didn't pick up on any disrespect toward designer scents in what she said.
      And you are absolutely right that every niche and Indie house isn't phenomenal. .. but generally, they are of quality and NEED to be to get business since they don't have a designer name to get people's attention! They Def don't all appeal to me- I am getting pickier it seems. And sometimes the creative direction goes too far down paths I'd rather not travel... Man, but the absolute GEMS 💎 / LOvES ❤️ I stumble across on this journey absolutely thrill me- make my daily experience so much less mundane- Bring so much pleasure!!! ...to me (perhaps not everyone around me lmao 🤪). If you are wearing more designers, more people day-to- day prob appreciate your scent!!!

      @@aimeeanderson9258 I wasn't implying it to Gabby not sure how you assumed that I was directly talking to her. NGL I didn't read this entire subjective reply but based on the synopsis.... What I was implying is that just like designer isn't everyone's cup of tea; neither is niche or some niche fragrances. I myself have alot of both tbh but there were some niche fragrances that I had to sit and wait a month or more to even enjoy the scent which is pretty crazy given the outstanding prices compared to designer which can be worn as soon as purchase...my point is also to not forget where you started in ur journey.. I'm sure almost everyone started in bath and body works or Victoria secret/ malls.. now there are people acting as if they're beneath the same scents that put a smile on their faces less than 5-10 years ago..
      I guess that's the same for me when it comes to designer shoes and purses.. I wouldn't be caught dead in old navy or thrift anything!! Lol I don't wear hand me downs.. but that's my personal preference... I'm just not wearing anything someone decided they wanted to get rid of... 🤷‍♀️

    • @aimeeanderson9258
      @aimeeanderson9258 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I feel you on that. Next time, read something - the whole thing before your subjective reply, though. My response wasn't rude. Your comments are presumptuous with a bit of an unpleasant undertone peaking through. Even if you didn't require some of the fact breakdown, I actually took great care to be pleasant and demonstrate where I agreed with you. I presented facts, softened with personal anecdotes, and agreed with you often. And I'm equally enraptured with designer, quality fashion. Last point: designer frags are NOT of equal quality as their clothing, bags, shoes, etc. These frags are the affordable bone they throw people who want to own something Dior/Chanel/etc. But cannot afford anything else. They are the soft drinks of the restaurant industry- cost little to make, but the money maker due to low cost creation and massive sales due to widespread accessibility (a non-exclusive product mass produced for everyone). In line with this business model, they use adequate but NOT superior quality ingredients (save for exclusive lines) bc its intended to be low cost/high sales volume. WHEREAS quality niche houses use the finest ingredients- they can charge high enough prices because the exclusivity is a huge part of the appeal! These customers want to smell different from the masses and seek fine quality. As a rule, I, like Gabby, am more excited to reach for such fragrances.
      I think you are generally correct about where many people begin their fragrance journey...but not all. But once you start buying the Hermes bags, would you really consider popping into Dillard's or Khol's to grab one? So it would have to have sentimental value or something to make me choose a lower quality scent over a FDB, Xerjoff, MFK, etc.
      I was just trying to diplomatically defend Gabby against a seemingly snarky comment WITHOUT insulting you if you had a designer frag budget and/or very few niche frags.
      But all the more, you should get- you don't go for the canvas Mark Jacobs Tote if the Chanel large classic handle with grained calfskin and gold tone metal is hanging next to it!
      I get your point: you were trying to " get real" and remind Gabby where she came from, insinuating she wasn't being authentic! Maybe you didn't intend it to be condescending- whether it was defensive or condescending, your diction revealed something about your character- your initial comment and your response to me. Read the last part of my comment- I tried so hard to be kind and gentle and considerate towards you.
      And why are you talking about second hand clothes?!?! Where did that come from??? Good for you! Is that what you perceive qualifies you as the superior specimen of humanity you presume to be? Interesting benchmark. Perhaps that is "where you come from"?
      Anyway, if I read you all wrong and you are a decent person, I'm sorry. Neither of your responses suggests that, though.

      @@aimeeanderson9258 again, I wasn't talking about Gabby at all.. actually I like her content. My reply was to the general audience..
      Second, I have been wearing/ buying niche fragrances for over a decade and switch between designer and niche because I buy what I want based on what I like because it's my perogative....
      I have zero canvas bags and only purchase desigber bags or shoes that are high quality and staple pieces.
      It's not my job to remind anyone of anything... I can give my opinion because that's my right as a law abiding citizen.. please don't try to shut me up because I'm not agreeing with the crowd or YOUR opinions on the subject matter.
      let me point out to you that although you feel like "you were trying to be nice" it isn't ur responsibility to defend anyone unless I was directing the comment to you personally..
      Through my time of actually defending my country I have observed a lot about civilians.. Civilians feel the need to defend everyone even if they don't see how it makes a situation go from bad to worse.. also, civilians take everything so personally including when someone is giving their opinion. It's ok to give an opinion. It's also ok to disagree but it's not ok to feel the need to tell someone on an open platform how YOU THINK they are as a person based on a post on TH-cam?!?! Like what?!?! You don't know me.. and we don't sit at the same tables or will ever cross paths..
      I honestly don't care that you view what I said as condescending because my reply wasn't for you or Gabby but you were offended when all you should be doing is watching the video and/ or reply to the content presented... Stop allowing social media platforms to cloud ur judgement or perception of reality...
      My comment about thrifting was a remark to add that "YOU ALL" only like niche fragrances like it's the new trend or something... (I'm generalizing to my point)
      I personally like designer clothes and bags versus thrifting because I don't want anyone's left overs or items they decided to get rid of.. Just as people seem to not like designer because it is all of a sudden beneath them or whatever..
      I have niche fragrances that doesn't even have a website. Brands such as EBK... I also have Guerlain, Byredo, MFK, Le labo, Kayali, Mancera, 7 virtues etc.. but I also have lancome, Jessica Simpson and Zara.. I like what I like..
      I am educated.. I say that again, I'm very educated and highly intelligent.. the branch of service I work in people can't even fathom or have the discipline to endure.
      My education is in business. So unless you have a Business degree higher than an MBA don't tell me about the fragrance business and how I should respond to anyone on an open platform used for business purposes...
      That's standing on business.
      This will be my last reply as I don't have the time or energy to further this discussion with someone who is trying to interpret and analyze me based on a opinionated post on TH-cam.
      Take care ✌🏽
