    This is THE only video I could find that gave a good full disassembly for the 380 Shield EZ. I can't tell you the headache I went through trying to find something showing me how to replace the slide stop spring (or even what it looked like so I could make sure I was buying the right replacement). Can't say I watched this for the trigger replacement, but this was an amazing help all around. Especially when I decided to drop everything and really had to piece everything back together. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

    Would be great if you can do this over again. I couldn’t see a third of what you’re doing and. You got parts and springs jumping all over the place.

    Super easy install! Allen screws are a bit of a challenge and a little excess polymer inside the grove but overall piece of cake! Little 200 grit to round off edges.

    It is FAR easier to reinstall the sear housing block, if the grip safety is first removed. It is one pivot pin and removes easily, and the grip safety spring remains in the frame. With the grip safety removed, the sear housing block seats easily. Then, the tail of the lifter can be aligned with its seat in the grip safety, and the grip safety positioned and the pivot pin re-installed. NO struggling.

    I JUST installed this trigger shoe so here is my review on it
    Installation 7/10
    Besides the shotty camera angles, springs flying left right, speed that you need to watch the video in slow mo., the installation was annoying. However I DID NOT use his method due to my rear pin that holds the grip safety to tighter than a Jew trying to share Jerusalem with a Palestinian. Even with a steel punch using a full size hammer I wasn't able to get that pin out. Lucky for me I have had experience working on other triggers and some guns here and there. If this was the first time I ever worked on a gun, I would have stopped and brought it to a gunsmith because this video is only 70% useful. Regardless I got it in and function tested it and its all jolly.
    Build Quality 3/10
    It is really cheaply 3d printed trigger shoe. I felt better 3d printed objects and this is NOT one of them. You can feel the ridges, the corners and edges are pretty damn sharp and one of the pin holes is sized wrong. I actually have to use a drill bit to shave off plastic to the pin can fit. its not particularly a hard plastic either as I felt the pre-travel pin was going to strip hole as I was turning it. Im goign to have to sand down the edges as this gun belongs to my wife.
    Function 8/10
    It works, feel better than before. Actually makes it feel a bit heavier but at least the flat face gives it a more linear pull. Gotta test it in the range when ammo gets more affordable.
    Overall its 21 bucks. Does what its advertised. Just wish the installation instructions were better and the fit and finish needs vast improvements.

      It will work with the Equalizer as well. We have discontinued the Scutum and now offer the Rainier Short Stroke Trigger for the 380 EZ , 9 EZ, as well as your Equalizer. Thanks for the question, I'll update the listing.

    • @leecollins1670
      @leecollins1670 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yea I found out with that certain gun you have to leave the thumb saftey in for it to function... getting it back together it hard but you do have to leave the safety on the gun I put a stronger spring in the trigger housing to basically delete that safety,cause when you put a stronger spring in , the thumb saftey is really hard to move on and off safe. which is what I wanted to delete the saftey.

    • @GallowayPrecision

      The Scutum is flat faced and with the pre travel adjustment screw takes about 20% of the overall travel out of the trigger.

    What does it mean if my trigger isn't moving freely after install? When I tested it it will fire hammer but trigger won't move back into normal position without me manually moving it.

      Trigger return spring arm isn't in the slot on the grip frame. Only thing that will cause that.

    .050 allen wrench measurement is wrong! i have my gun all torn apart and now i cant get it set right. what happened? was the size changed or was a cheap screw with whacked out tolerances used??? I have to wait until i get a tiny set of allens shipped in now!

      The Ranier SS Trigger will work in the M&P 9 Shield EZ pistol. It does not eliminate pre travel nor reset but it will reduce over travel. It also eliminates creep and the tactile audible reset which was almost unnoticeable with the stock trigger. It is also a smoother trigger pull.

    Video helped but the product is kinda cheap. The allen set screw caught and ripped right out. Way too easy. Plastic is too soft. Instructions should say to screw in all the way to avoid that. Very sharp edges. AND what is the allen set screw in the middle of the trigger for???

    • @GallowayPrecision
      @GallowayPrecision  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like the set screw caught in or under the grip frame and not against it. Most likely the angle in which the pre travel screw was reinstalled was incorrect. The allen screw in the face of the trigger is for adjusting the post travel.

    The most critical part of your vid is when the FCG is reinstalled in the frame along with the trigger group. it is dark and the position of the three FCG parts is not clearly shown, the instructions are too fast and lacking critical detail. I have watched the vid 4 times and still am fighting mating two groups to the frame. I have done many Glock, Canik, Sig, and 1911 triggers and feel I am better than the average smith. After half a day without success I am ready to give up. I tried to call your tech dept but no answer or VM. Never had issues with Apex products. I would like someone to answer the phone please.

    Nice close up vid. However, do NOT talk w/your hands, and slow down your movements so we can see each part clearly and even to where you put the parts during disassembly. Great info, too distracting presentation.
