I remember playing cata as a priest, I was rushed through firelands as there was no priest on the server that got geared up within a couple of weeks. What I can remember is that guilds would switch between alts mage and rogue would get swapped out
I main an unholy dk but I want to switch to either a mage or shadow priest or heck even a paladin, what do you recommend?
@@CyberMonkey03 I would say that towards the end of Cataclysm, guilds will be looking for classes that can do burst DPS, particularly ranged DPS over melee. That's not to say there won't be any melee DPS. Mages or Shadow Priests are particularly valuable. You'll always want one Shadow Priest in the raid, and you might want to stack Mages.
Isn't Hand of Guldan's damage single target? The area of effect part is just for the snare, stun, and increased chance to be crit by demon pets, iirc. With the snare and stun being granted by Aura of Foreboding.
You are correct. HoG is not an AoE damage ability. It did eventually become an AoE ability in a later iteration of the game, but right now it is single target damage.
Combustion in pre patch now works as intended and adds all dots together to one huge dot. Ive done this on training dummys and i had 40k dps on them selfbuff.. so absolutely broken and i like it 😂
as a fire mage main that last section in the video was getting me pumped up for cata lol
Hot streak, scorch and flamestrike/blast wave combos are so fun! Buttons! More buttons!
If memory serves, legendary staff does not duplicate dots like you said. It does something faaaar more deadly,. When a duplication occurs, it consumes the previous dot, dealing inatant damage, then applies the new one
Baring any big changes, it’s gonna be fire Mage, surv hunter, arms, UHDK as top dps

There's lots of classes that can and will pass each other. Fury can do just as good as arms in PVE, Frost can do just as good as unh, beast mastery can do just as good as survival,

bruh.. i just logged into classic to level my warrior after taking a year and a half break due to cata coming.. my server had 22 horde players total on it XD... thank god they offered free server transfers. the AH had like 10 items on it total and org had 1 player in it

For PvP ? resilience isn’t working ,I don’t know for pve . But added mastery has increased most classes damage
Inner Rage does not remove fury cost of Cleave/HC Strike
Usable when you have over 75 Rage to increase all damage you deal by 15% but increase the rage cost of all abilities by 50%. Lasts 15 sec. so pretty much dirt cheap
and its deadly calm that removes costs

In cata Pally Ret was good in PvP but i never found one in Heroic Dragon soul that did all that well especially fully geared with the Tier and Gul'thrak

I mained a Pally in original Cata; believe me Ret was not fun. It relied waaaaaaaaaaay too much on RNG to do anything; Prot was much more enjoyable and I remained a tank for the entirety of the xpac.
Wonder if Blizzard is going to try the tanking "Vengeance" mechanic and watch their dps go ape shit again.

U obviously never played original cata, rogues with daggars as mut and sub will leave u in the dust
@@RandyMartin-jx8yiright but this is not until P3 with a ton of grinding in DS for those daggers so sub isn’t even viable until 3/4 of expac is over. Personally I’m rolling from rogue main to lock in Cata

I would dare say rogue with the legendary daggers is the highest potential single target damage in the game, their downside is that sub and assa have next to no aoe, and combat is a bit lacklustet st

@@begerbingchillingAt least as assa, isn't FoK just to spread poisons to everything? Ofc it's only strong if the targets live for a certain period of time. But in large pulls that live for a while, it can be really good damage iirc.

One day in stormwind i saw a guy recruiting for a clan i was in on warcraft 2. I msg him to talk sh1t and claim the name killer peons. Turns out he was one of my bros.
Got to raid firelands with him.
Also used the AH app to farm (i still felt smartphones were gimped laptops and laptops were gimped pcs so i got a blackberry andriod and worked the AH on break and lunch) gold, went from broke to 300k off the back of darkmoon decks.
Got hacked in mop and was stripped of all gear and gold =[

Nice, informative video!! It definitely helped me make a decision on what to main for Cata. One small bit of constructive criticism - the bass level on your mic is far too high. It's is a bit overbearing. Your "s" sounds spike a little bit also. (no offense intended and apologies if it comes off that way)

demon locks in cata is just really op, only class/spec that is able to solo many current raid tier boss's. as long as there is no enrage timer or tank swap needed then a lock could solo these boss's. mages are going to kind of suck till they get their t11 raid sets, till this point mages dps will be one of the weakest. so the first 1-2 weeks mages ya going to suffer a bit, but once you start getting raid gear your dps will sky rocket.
I couldn't care less about "guesses". I'll wait for some solid data ;)
