I like his voice sounds so confident
Best president in our lifetime. Balls, charisma and humility in one package!
Ones after him are not worthy to shine his shoes.
He gave 2 really outstanding inaugural addresses
The greatest president of our generation.
I liked the guy his sense of humour and his charisma I am sure hes a sound bloke wished I met him
So proud of President Reagan!!!!
When he looks to his right - camera left - its incredibly moving and powerful. His 1:30 to 2:00.
This inauguration was held inside the Grand Foyer of the White House. The temperatures were harsh, at near 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
Hugs from Brazil to the Land of the Free. I'd like to have a president like Reagan here in Brazil someday. I know that is a dream, but I believe. Ronald Reagan, the best president in the History of the World.
Notice how he tries to UNITE, not divide, notice how he says "WE" and not I, notice how he doesn't whine, point a finger and blame. What a contrast!
The weather was bad that's why the inauguration was inside
Boy, could we sure use President Reagan's guidance now! Too bad this second inaugural address of Ronald Reagan's couldn't be held outdoors (as it was too cold that day). But gosh, Mr. Reagan had a lot of great things to say about our great nation. His was the greatest two Presidential terms in our nation's history. Well spoken, Mr. President!
Ronald Reagan = Champion of Freedom! I miss you, Sir!
We sure need a President like this great man in 2012!!
we need another one of him right now
we are here for common cause. ..that we got from him
As true today as it was 3 years ago.
Amen!
I wish you were here now MR President. RIP.
Eat your heart out Obama! You can never touch this level of leadership.
Ahhh the 80s those were golden years but we've definitely gotten off track with all these terrible anti job policies enacted since 84'
The most recent indoor Presidential inauguration ceremony to be held.
The best leader in my life.
Ronald Reagan.
George Vreeland Hill
Sniklefritz: answer - because we are not a 3rd world nation.
I am in awe of Ronald Reagan. I got to shake his hand once- I touched greatness. No speaker since has moved me like he still does. God please send us another.
why was he sworn in inside?
MahBoi232 The event took place inside because it was very cold. Here is a detailed description of the weather during the second inauguration from Wikipedia:
"As the weather outside was harsh, with temperatures near zero degrees Fahrenheit, the planners were forced to cancel most of the outdoor events, which had been planned to take place at the western front of the U.S. Capitol; the ceremonial swearing-in and the inaugural address were instead held in the Capitol Rotunda."
Thank you for visiting our channel!
ReaganFoundation Alright thank you
MahBoi232 Major Artic attack on eastern 1/3 of US. -20s all the way into Dixie. Huge snowpack. Just brutal conditions all over.
9 Dislikes ........(9 votes for Hillary Clinton)
Wonderful words artfully delivered. Wish he had taken the action he had promised.
"Speed it up" -Donald Thomas Regan, Merrill Lynch CEO.
Is the man who introduced him FDR's son? Striking resemblance.
+Ciaran Ryan thought the same thing, but he died 40 years before this was filmed
wow 1/21/85 , i wasnt even yet in world that day :)!!
How was he so great? I am dumbfounded when people say this. Can you name one great thing he did without looking it up on google?
One, because January 20 fell on a Sunday and two the following day had very freezing temperatures , coldest day yet about under7 degrees Fahrenheit so they did it inside the Capitol.
We need Ronald Reagan today.
fear not my friend..Donald Trump will be 3rd an 4th term Ronald Reagan!
Great leader. Wish he were here nowadays. We could certainly use him.
Yet totalitarian darkness has slowly creeped up again, I WANT to FEEL the warm SUNSHINE of HUMAN FREEDOM AGAIN...the pride and excitement I have develop within hearing this I desire for someone to ignite this passion and take us there once more. Hope...I do not want anything handed to me or our country just an opportunity and hope.
the greatest president in the 20th Century !
Coldest day on record in washington D.C, hence indoors!
in my opinion, as today we 're in 2014 - RONALD REAGAN WAS THE STRONGEST PERSON since - Abe ...day for day I remember the great time of the 80ies Reagen Years - this man made USA big again ..
the best president we ever had
1/21/17
Is it just me, or is it obvious that Reagan's acting career gave him great skills as a leader and a speaker? Or has the absence of such honesty in todays politicians left us over-sensitized? A stronger nation ours was then, and as a result an easier to topic to give a speech on. Today there are so many problems with no solution that any speech, no matter the credibility, has no impact, no glue, with which it sticks upon us, the American people.
This sounds waay more hopeful and fills my heart with joy far greater than anything Obama has ever said ever.
What a beautiful couple! And no one can hold a candle to President Reagan--he's the very best---EVER!! We will not forget him!! Sadly, the bulk of history books will, probably, be biased against him. But we will tell our children, and their children, how great he was, nonetheless! Liberals hate him. That's about the best compliment a president can get! Accolades and kudos to President Reagan. Forever and always, the greater share of this country will miss him!!
The last greatest President. After him, all hell broke loose.
@Ranger337 Technically he took the oath on Sunday the 20th at the White House. Presidents have a had a tradition of not taking the oath on Sundays and postponing it until the next day (Monroe, Taylor, Hayes, Wilson, Eisenhower). However, out of concerns of power in the event of a nuclear attack and who would be in power, the presidents will take the oath "privately" on a Sunday and then publicly the next day, but in RR's case, it was below 0 so they moved it inside. 2013 is the next year.
We love you in Ireland President Reagan! God bless you. ~
There is no one who talks like this anymore. Did you see the politicians crap their pants when he said freeze federal spending? He was definitely an outsider.
Such class compared to O
@cano21 You do know who Ron Paul is right? If not read up on him
@urbanncowboy They held it in the Capitol Rotunda and could only jam about 1,000 people into there, including all 535 members of Congress and staff, the Marine Band, TV crews, etc. Not much space.
okaaaaay i still have to send my kid to college and i need less than 13.1% interest on a car loan in the 80s
It is too bad he did not get it "Let us make it unconstitutional for the federal government to spend than the federal government takes in"
Think about how wealthy and even more prosperous this great nation would be today
You are so very right !
why is the inauguration inside
why is this such a small crowd
It's a damn shame that only 15,xxx people have watched this video in the last 3 years. And I personally account for somewhere around 20 views of it. As for the 3 of you that disliked it; read a book or two.
Reagan always reminds me of this girl I know who would fluently read a whole book in her infant years, but have no comprehension of what occurred in it's pages.
This is Stalin's American cousin I sweat
