In my humble opinion. Bernstein was my generation’s greatest teacher. I shifted from music to English teaching and I always marveled at how he would make subjects do accessible. His masterpiece of teaching has to be the six Norton Lectures that he gave at Harvard in which he equated music with language. I always find myself coming back to them with love and devotion.
