So, You've Built a Gaming PC... What Happens Next?? | How To Install Windows, Drivers & Optimise

  • #howto #asuspcdiy #gamingpc - Building a Gaming PC is just the first step of the process. Powering up for the first time may seem like a daunting task, but following these few stages in order should get you on your way with ease.
    Timecodes
(though I recommend not to skip for visual narrative reasons!)
    00:00 - Intro - scene setting
    01:26 - Installing Windows
04:28 - The Importance of Updates
    05:27 - Graphics Software & Drivers
    07:07 - Screen Refresh Rates
07:48 - RGB Control & Updates (Armoury Crate)
10:07 - The Dreaded Activation Thing
    11:22 - A quick Summary
    12:05 - PC Build Cinematic
    13:33 - Coffee Thanks & Outtakes
When you build PC's every day, it's easy to take for granted how overwhelming it can be to set them up. In this video I take a moment to explain the process I use every time to ensure Windows, drivers and surrounding software works symbiotically.
Of course, you may be using an MSI, or Aorus motherboard etc which will change the setup stages slightly, however the order should still be exactly the same:
    Install windows
    Windows Updates
    Graphics (GeForce Experience or Adrenalin)
    Check screen refresh rates
Branded software for RGB control and devices
    Windows Activation
    Install Games
    Play Games
I didn't want to dig deep into bios, overclocking and XMP etc during this video. If this is your first Gaming PC build then it's important to focus on the details which will get you gaming rather than getting into the advanced territory.
Final roundup on the build and video below the product links:

I had no reason to watch this tutorial since I do this 2-3 times a day but I still watched the video. It was really like therapy. And btw, I really support that you build then sell the PCs. I really wish that you start making at least small profit and turn this into a small business. Cheers from Bulgaria, mate! 🤟🏼

    - Making sure the PSU power switch is on. Nothing worse troubleshooting why a PC doesnt turn on and its because of a simple PSU power switch lol

      @PCBattlestations 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@adamsterdam9049 You want to put Windows 10 or Windows 11 on a USB Flash drive, google "Windows Installation media" and it should give you a Microsoft link to Create a Windows 10 or 11 Installation Media. It'll download the media kit, run that and it'll search for the USB drive to install on to make it a bootable USB device that will install Windows on the PC you plug it into afterwards. Pretty easy, I've done a video or 2 on it in the past

The following is some of the questions I have:
    1. What is the difference in between buying the product key off the shelf and buying it online the way it's explained in the video? Are those downloadable keys legit?
    2. Does the motherboard and graphics card have to be Asus products in order to use Armory Crate software?
    3. I use Corsair AIO and therefore I use iCue software to set up fan speed. Is there a way to bypass this? How do you control the fan speed without iCue? In my case, I remember being scared of my fans spinning at its maximum capacity and I couldn't find a way to slow it down without using iCue.
    4. Similar to my previous question: How do you control the fan speed? I ask since this is the most confusing part for me.
Thanks for reading, hope to get some answers!

It would be good if you mentioned the different types of Windows Keys. Finally, there are some that you can only activate once, or where you have to hope that you are not deactivated by the actual owner.

Hi Matt. I was wondering if you could review that new cooler everyone's been talking about. The JF13K by Jiushark. Okay it's not so new, but I'm definitely interested!

Hey Matt! Thanks for the guide I found you very recently and i love your vids!
Would you say Windows 10 pro is better than the 11 pro or why did you take the 10 over 11 ?

Too bad I'm in the US it would be cool to have a PC built by Mr Matt Lee. I enjoy the voiceover videos.

If you build one like that for the US, I would be very interested. I’d like to have a faster processor though in 64 gigs of ram basically I just want to max it out for Microsoft flight Sim. That is a beautiful PC.

About the RGB lighting, when you say "download the software for the brand you are using" are you talking about the brand of the motherboard?

You save that one for later drop on how you usually set it up, am I right?

what happens when you reboot or wipe the machine or uninstall the software that controls the lighting - does the lighting stay the same colour or does it need the software running to keep the colours synced?
