I love them all, Caroline. My friend's father passed away suddenly a few weeks ago. He had just gotten a stage 4 cancer diagnosis and within the week he was gone. I was trying to figure out how to honor him and let my friend know that I know how heartbroken she is. So, to honor my friend Carol and her father Bob, I am inspired to make a watercolor card and plant a Christmas tree in our yard. You always inspire me but this year it has so much more meaning. Thank you.
Oh Laura, that is so sad. I'm glad that Carol has such a caring friend as you. I love your ideas. Love and care are just what is needed at this time and you have come up with a lovely way of showing it :)
@izzpop781 Thank you. He was a beloved patriarch of a beautiful family. Until the day he died, every night he would say I love you to his wife and "goodnight, my love."" See you in the morning."
@lfurches Oh that's so lovely. I know it won't be an easy time for them but can only hope that if they're surrounded by friends as equally compassionate & caring as you are, it'll help to make the time ahead a little easier to bear. My thoughts & best wishes to them (& you) at this difficult time.
I have always admired watercolor paintings, they seem so ethereal to me. But I have never had the nerve to try. Well, you make it look so easy, so I think I may have to at least give it a try. Very much enjoyed watching, Caroline. (I have a granddaughter by that name and she is quite the artist at age 10)
I never knew it was so easy to paint a tree . Saying that, I've not done one yet, you do make it look user friendly. I'll give it a go. Thank you Caroline.
Love the personalised cards and variety of tree designs and the whimsical holly too. Thank you for sharing these wonderful ideas. Love the shimmer paints too . Happy crafting 👍🏻🎄🎨
Oh Caroline, such beautiful cards one and all. I used to make all cards (Valentine, Birthday, Anniversary, etc.) Its been some years since I invested time in such things. Yours are beautiful and makes me wonder why I ever stopped.
Thank you so much Peggy! I hope you get started making cards again. It is a lot of fun but the small size means that they are so convenient and fast too :)
They're all really artistic looking and I can't pick just one favourite 🤔 However I think my favourite part of the actual video was the way you captured the holly & ivy card cos the fine-liner overlay has given the Ivy leaves a variegated look & is very effective 👍❤
I love the simple understated elegance. Your first green on your Holly and ivy looks to be Phthalo green. You can always tell because it is a bright green not found in nature.😉 that card has a line and wash effect. But you did the wash part first which I think is brilliant because then I'm not tempted to stay in the lines, which is how it's supposed to be looking like a nice loose free wash! I'm definitely going to use your technique 🎉 Thanks Caroline❤
Thank you Annette! AH yes, that unnatural green must be Phtalo green, thanks :) I like putting the colour down first on buildings too. It is a nice, loose look. Happy painting!
Love these watercolour cards 😍 my favourite was the first one. I don't have watercolours but I'll try my acrylic paint and see if it works. Thank you Caroline for the lovely ideas ❤😊
Thank you Jeriann! They are pretty easy when you have made one or 2 to get the feel of it. You can always practice on some cheap paper first. If you use something like aged paper or old music book pages for that, you can then cut them out and glue them to a card if they go well :)
@letsgetcrafting thank you, I may give a go as it will be good for journaling as you do. I do miss seeing your three ladies. They would look lovely in real homemade clothes in a journal.
First time to see your channel. Love your personality!! I love watercolor and am trying to learn. Your cards are lovely. I subbed and liked you. See you next time. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄
Realised I tend to paint when it's a nice sunny day so if it's cloudy and dark I don't paint a lot and it's been so dark lately I've needed the lights on all day lol.
These are fun! I usually use rubber art stamps when I make cards, but some of my friends sure would enjoy me trying free-drawing! Thank you!!!
Thank you Rebecca! I hope you give it a go. I think you will do very well :)

These cards are gorgeous, and I love the tip about creating cards with mindfulness about the people you’re giving them to.

Thank you Chris!
Your cards look beautiful! I really love your washi tape technique! 🎄
Thank you Anne! I love finding uses for my least pretty washi tapes, so this was a double win for me :)
They're all really artistic looking and I can't pick just one favourite 🤔

Thank you Izzy! I really enjoyed adding the fine liner on the holly and Ivy. It looks so much more technical than it actually is :)
Absolutely wonderful! I started watching thinking this would be so beyond my skills but you explain everything so well! Can't wait to try ❤
Thank you Angela! I hope you have as lovely time making them. I bet they will turn out great :)

@@myhomeonthehillside I did it and it came out beautifully. Thanks again Caroline for the inspiration. I've been lacking that lately. 😀

Thank you Deb! I would imagine that acrylics would work too :) Happy painting :)
Your cards look beautiful. ❤
Thank you Penny!
Nice ideas, I like the bonus card ❤
Thank you Charlotte :)
Wow! Did I foretell this video? As today I bought some card to paint some Christmas cards?

Thank you Jeannie!
I absolutely love the first two trees. Never worked with watercolors before so not sure how they would turn out😂😂😂. Happy Christmas Caroline

I miss them too. They had such fun! I'm trying to get back into them but have left it so long that I struggle to get them to look right nowadays.

Thank you Vikki and thank you for subscribing too! I hope you have a fun and productive time learning watercolour. It is a fun medium to use :)

The joys of living in Wales lol
Hi Caroline. I would like to try the water colours. It’s too late for me this year but I will give it ago for next year. Lynda
Thank you Lynda! It is getting so close to CHristmas now. I can;t believe that it is almost here :)
