3,000 year old Castle in Afghanistan: Qala-e -Bost

  • Helmand Afghanistan, this is my second time here at this amazing place! Qala e Bost as its called. The first time i literally had no info about the place...this time i knew a bit more and my friend that took me knows lots about many historical places. for Helmand its mandatory to have an armed guard.... nowhere else in Afghanistan has this happened, only here...you dont have to pay for this, it happens in some parts of Pakistan also. Anyone into history and archeologists would love love this place...its been untouched for about 40 years! its Afghanistans greatest cultural heritage sights. perhaps UNESCO needs to come take a look sometime and help this place, it would be a masterpiece with some renovation before it crumbles away .
this was a long day as there are ruins of buildings and another castle a couple of miles away which we explored also and met with some locals in the main area of Lashkar Gah which will be in the next vlog!! thanks for watching .. also check out Stephan the Germans channel ‪@MyExpatDiary‬

This is not a real historical site. This is a fake one . Because this certain tribe want to prove their root in Afghanistan . It might be about a 120 or 130 years old only. The real old historical site in Afghanistan is in Bamian

Mannnnn you people are pure hypocrites.
Bamyan and this site both belongs to pashtun afghans.
Bamyan Buddha was here before changeez khan left 1000 or hazar troops here.
So it's not hazara property and don't act like it's yours.
There are thousands of places thousands of years old allover afghanistan like the minnar in ghoor (1000year old) is very beautiful my birth place.

The spiral staircase is actually a spiral step well. It is common in Western India or more specifically Rajasthan and Gujarat and parts of Pakistan. Since the water table has disappeared, the well looks abandoned. Such wells were useful for water in summer months and also during siege as the enemy could cut off external water supply to the fort. It is in good condition because people would maintain it. The well would also be the center of activity of the area.

I think it was a karavan saray which is a resting station for people who are traveling.
In the past people used to travel with horse and camels and they would stop at this places, rest and give water to their animals.
Those exit holes on the ground are for Fresh air and also light.
They built it under the ground because below ground is more colder.
The holes would also collect rain water.
