Thanks for interview bhut'Sizwe. I find ubab'Maimane's framing of the challenges SA economy faces and the solutions to be very interesting. I can't seem to pinpoint what his stance is on what the economics of the gov should be. He believes the poor should be prioritised but is not very critical of austerity measures. His stance on centralist politics is problematic because what we have seen repeatedly in the past and currently is that the "political centre" will often side with the interests of the elite over the interests of the poor/working class on key policy issues. Radical change from centrist politics is a fantasy we can only enjoy in novels and betrays the pragmatism he implies is inherent within this framework; we will not get economic freedom by asking nicely, ungafa. My take away from ubab'Maimane is that he is a "khohlisa" 🍼 to the working class, providing them an outlet to "play nice" when in reality the necessary reforms will not attract these "investors" he suggests we ought to pander to, it will not be welcome by capital markets, and would definitely not be welcome by the people and institutions that fund his political party.

For the the brilliance of Mmusi,I think he misses the point that he highlights clearly in the same conversation. The question is how do you effect those changes that you wish for if you don't have the power to.(WMC has the power)he also expresses parties coming together but still holds on to Bosa.

Why is it that the love language is only heard when its said by someone but not heard when its said by someone? This is our problem. Julius Sello Malema, has said it in so many ways that we should love each other because we need each other. Now because its said by Jacob Zuma, its like a new thing.

@@sphiwedlamini5592 The one and only. I will say it again, Julius Sello Malema long before Jacob Zuma. Lets love one another and also love our African Brothers and Sisters. I love you my brother, we may differ politically due to our different political homes and principles but one thing we can be grounded on is honesty and the honest truth is that Malema has been saying this for more than a decade now.
