Am not BOSA member but Mmusi is on point when saying our budget need to be informed by our subjects priorities..... at the same time Government must try an influence our school going ppl to study towards skills in demand as part of fighting the triple challenge we are faced with
There is a politician I always thought was great, he disappeared and then recently made a return, Mr Parks Tau. Not sure he is the greatest speaker/crowd puller, but has immensely worthwhile ideas. Would be great to see him on the platform. Thanks for the content
Mmusi, you are correct we set our targets far too low,so much more is possible but we are hampered by politics ,racism and greed.Due to that I can understand why such a large part of the population is unhappy. The secret for me,on a personal level ,was when I managed to start my own business and determine my own future.I believe this is part of the solution
Profitable conversation. It's good now that he holds a position of big uncle in parliament. He sounds like he will be a resourceful uncle, and not the drunkard one like many that we know.
I Love Mr Maimane's thinking and mindset, I would really love to see the collaboration between him and Mr Ndlozi, I think that would be the duo that we never knew we needed.🙌🏽
Mr Mmusi Maimane you are on point my Brother we are experiencing these low ridaction on electricity here in Cape Town Khayelitsha every two days we are out of power for 6 hours these stated in june till now as we speak.
Please invest in fixing the railways and get the countless cargo trucks off the highways, it's overwhelming and dangerous, besides these trucks damage the roads🙏🏾
I often took Mmusi Maimane as a " Jimmy Come Lately" kind of politician. Since getting elected into parliament, I've come appreciate his place in this new GNU era . I like his honesty and purpose. Certainly a big departure from those giddy false promises by greedy and corrupt ANC elites.
One thing I'm very glad to have done is to vote for parties like Action SA and BOSA so that thinkers like Mmusi, Dr Letlape, etc can go to parliament and raise the quality of debate. I think he's right in that these parties must coalesce and put their heads together to leverage a bigger influence on our policies
Everytime I've listened to Mmusi, I've been pleasantly surprised by his political and economic interlect. Additionally, I appreciate his grasp of South African dynamics - particularly the point of there being different South Africa's from an experience point of view. What I am always left wondering is why his "vibe" doesn't resonate with most South Africans. On paper, he feels quite perfect.
That’s the very view that is holding us back! What does it mean to being black enough? His accent? C’mon man, accent has nothing to do with is. It’s about patriotism, people with substance, intel, ideas and the energy to serve and take SA forward!
Greetings Dr. Mpofu, you know, I rarely find interviews with Johann Rupert or the Oppenheimers, and some of our politicians have a lot to say about them. I believe an interview with one of them could benefit the country.
This was an interesting discussion with some valid points raised. It’s good to see different perspectives on the challenges facing South Africa. Hopefully, these conversations lead to actionable solutions that benefit everyone.

Musi is correct. We have been discussing Zuma and his MKP for a while now. It is time we moved on to discussing bigger and more progressive topics that affect us directly on a daily basis.

@tonitappous2422 Cape Town is beautiful until u go to the black communities, unfortunately that turns me off and make me believe they are a racist party... so they would rather save and have clean audits than making native Douth africans be on par with white communities. Clean audit for me does nor makes me measure a party as good. Change to those who suffered over the years, since Verwoerd madness is what makes me believe the party is having interest for all South africans😊
Thanks for interview bhut'Sizwe. I find ubab'Maimane's framing of the challenges SA economy faces and the solutions to be very interesting. I can't seem to pinpoint what his stance is on what the economics of the gov should be. He believes the poor should be prioritised but is not very critical of austerity measures. His stance on centralist politics is problematic because what we have seen repeatedly in the past and currently is that the "political centre" will often side with the interests of the elite over the interests of the poor/working class on key policy issues. Radical change from centrist politics is a fantasy we can only enjoy in novels and betrays the pragmatism he implies is inherent within this framework; we will not get economic freedom by asking nicely, ungafa. My take away from ubab'Maimane is that he is a "khohlisa" 🍼 to the working class, providing them an outlet to "play nice" when in reality the necessary reforms will not attract these "investors" he suggests we ought to pander to, it will not be welcome by capital markets, and would definitely not be welcome by the people and institutions that fund his political party.
