I was so worried about you and am so happy to see you radiantly smiling. Ive had my struggles with depression and also with chronic, sometimes crippling pain. I know the signs very intimately, and watched you spiral down. Sunshine, sleep regulation, and living in the place where your spirit feels is "home", and for many of us the right combo of drugs, are the only things that can bring a depressed person back to life.
I have such a weird affection for RL dress shirts due to my resale beginnings, I found a cash of 2XLT and did very well & sold fast lol
I always pick up RL white letter blue label pieces. I think because I've paid so much for it in my past. It's hit and miss on sales. But I don't mind.
Thanks for the video Tropical Matt - can confirm - sold a Brunello Cucinelli polo shirt for $70, which I only knew to pick up because of you and the MM. Also just sold a 100% linen pair of John Varvatos pants for $40....

11:50 the brand PXG...screw the clothing, you want to be looking out for PXG golf clubs. That being said, I have sold PXG golf headcovers from goodwill for over $125 each.

Great video! Because of you I picked up a Charter Club merino wool today. On the topic of men's dress shirts. Dress shirts seem to be one of those pivots I've had to make at the bins when competition is fierce. Reject those with perspiration or ink stains (unless you think you can remove it with acetone). They are a bit more work as I think they really need to be pressed and presented well to sell. Hathaway, Robert Talbott, Woolrich, Proper Cloth are a few that I've sold in the last few days. And in only a few days after listing.

Agreed about the dress shirts. Bougie office wear is dead. Plus, the extra effort it takes for them to be wrinkle free and presentable. I am having great luck with men’s shorts this year on Poshmark, even midrange brands in smaller sizes. Go figure. Hats off to MM the sequel. Enjoy your new life, Tropical Matt.
I don't know where you live, but I live in Chicago. If you live in the Midwest, take a tour of your local cleaners and see what's on the racks. At my cleaners that I go to she has it full of dress shirts.

We actually do well with men's button down dress shirts - We sell mostly menswear anyway & I do take the time to iron them and make them look presentable. We stick to a few key brands (Ralph Lauren, LL Bean, & such) and while they don't sell for a whole lot, we do sell a lot of them. ( We have a really low COG, like $2 max and sell them all day long in the $18-$22 range). Checked and we are ranked 281 currently in this category. We don't find as many that are new with tags to sell. At any rate ,thanks as always for your great advice.

To tack one more brand onto your high-end wacky/zany golf brand list, J. Lindeberg. Not totally zany, but definitely bold, mostly stripes and colorblocks or their logo done real big and obnoxious, the sell through for "j. lindeberg polo shirt" pre-owned is 113%
(just sold a NWT huge-logo one, sold in two days)

Dress shirts: I've been doing well selling dress shirts to consigners like Crossroads. Dress shirts sell good in LOTS. For example tommy bahama, brooks brothers. I try to sell in lots. When I go to my cleaners, I notice that it's filled totally filled with long sleeve dress shirts. But, they're all patterned, like stripes and loud patterns like geometrics. Camp shirts in the summer are good for consignment.

Thanks for your information. Recently sold a pair of Clark’s hiking boots that said Goretex on them. Had no issues w eBay. Agree with your dress shirt analysis. I have a small bunch of Charles Tyrwhitts I am probably going to bundle…as well as two Ermenegildo Zegnas. Haven’t listed them yet…
Charles T was one of my favorites for so long and now I have a few that have set for a year or more. Even put them on 35% off and nada. Can’t afford Patron because of them so had to buy Jose C. Sad ending to a good brand.

I currently have a pair of gore Tex pant for sale with Gore-Tex in the title for several weeks now on eBay, no issues.
For the loud golf print, I can't help but think of Caddy Shack.

That’s true about some brands they don’t know
I don’t claim to be an eBay VeRO expert and everyone should do their own research but my policy is I don’t call something Gore-Tex unless I can prove it is. Similarly you can sell Velcro if it is actually Velcro (which would only be a new branded package, not on clothing). You can only sell a baby garment and call it a Onesie if it’s actually Gerber. And you can’t sell some courses or software because the original product sold was a nontransferable license. Like Rosetta Stone. Don’t use brand names as if they were generic terms. - oh this feels like Gore-Tex so I’m going to call it that 🚫. Just my two cents. Thanks, Matt, for your contributions to our Reseller Body of Knowledge q.v.

I know older people like my Dad buy a lot of formal dress shirts brand new he buys brooks brothers but people like him never buy on eBay. Drink plenty and water and hope you enjoy yourself down in the tropics

I have had some Dress shirts listed for years
On the dress shirts: I used to do really well on several brands. But the last couple years they suck. Even my beloved Robert Graham has sunk like a rock. There used to be collectors for his custom line. Now, not so much. I still have a beautiful sports coat Robert Graham made for BJ Thomas. I bought part of his closet from his estate. And Gloria his spouse gave me COA ‘s for his stuff. Still can’t sell. Bummer.
Oh and the Real/Real no longer accepts his brand.

just found my first bad birdie yesterday :) found my first psycho bunny the other day but the stupid staples the thrift store uses made a hole
Those suck, especially whem they use those thick industrial staples
Don't hesitate to sell it even with a hole. I sold one the other day with a fully disclosed hole right next to the bunny. I did have to discount the price as a result, but it did not take too long for it to sell. Another time, the shirt was so trashed I cut the bunny embroidery off the chest and sold it separately just to recoup some of my cost. Sold it in a just a few weeks. People love their Psycho Bunny!

One office casual brand I love is UNTUCKit. Great quality men's shirts. Found one at goodwill for $7. It sold very quickly for $50. Too bad you don't find them very often. The owner was actually on Shark Tank one time so that's how I knew to be on the look out. I was excited when I finally found one. It was hanging on the new racks so no one had seen it yet.
