Not sure, I’ll suggest you to take Shimla-Kinnaur-Nako route for winters as they are open year wide :)

If you want to see some snow then go in the May mid or June (latest), In this video we travelled to Kaza in the last week of August/Early September.

Depending on the mileage, food & stay…. Agar Pura Spiti Trip krna hai toh 15K at least lag jaega baki apna kharcha extra jitna krogey utna hoga…

Apache 200 performed beyond my expectations….. No issues at all & infact constant performance even at high altitudes beyond 15000 ft….

Nai yeh road ki best conditions yahi hai jo video mein dikh rahi hai. Baut baar isse b buri conditions hoti hai, so prepare accordingly brother 😅

I drive by car and some of these roads look 2 narrow for 2 vehicles or worse truck/bus to pass each other.. can that be a problem? fyi, I am from Mumbai and did a drive to Gramphu/Manali and back in about 6 days!
The road from Gramphu to Kaza is pure off-road and only recommended for experienced driver with a 4x4 vehicle unless you are local who can drive lord alto 😅.
And at some place the roads are too narrow. Best choice for you is to go through Shimla-Kinnaur-Nako-Kaza Route but that also needs special caution & it’s risky due to some landslide prone areas.

Hey, I'm planning to visit spiti in 2nd week of July from Manali route only, so it's safe to take Manali route in July? How's the overall Manali patch?
The only concern from July onwards is the stretch till Manali from Bilaspur onwards as because of frequent rain, landslides can happen... But as soon as you cross Atal Tunnel everything will be dry and sunny. Same problem exists from Kinnaur to Chanidgarh or vice versa Onwards.
So, plan everything up and don't compromise on safety and weather updates.

Bhai koi permit to nhi lg rha atal tunnel k yha par.
No Permit is required for the Manali to Kaza via Atal Tunnel and Kaza to Chandigarh via shimla, kinnaur.....
Although at places you might have to register yourself in order for the authorities to keep a record of you for safety purposes. (only takes 5 mins.)

How long did it take from Manali to Kaza, when should be leave from Manali to be in kaza before it gets dark?
Also, one of the best videos of Manali Kaza road on TH-cam, I have been wanting an overview of the road and this was really wonderfully made.
If you are riding for the first time then it might gonna take around 6-8 hours depending on the riding experience and stoppage.
However, starting early is always better in mountains... 😃
