I have yet to see a clip showing shaving with the grain. 🙄 Nobody does because it leaves visible hair behind just cut shorter and not (visually) fully removed. It's also difficult to perform making the process even more time consuming.
you really only have to on areas that are more prone to getting bumps. more people struggle with that in more areas, so it’s recommended for them to go with the direction of hair growth even on legs where most people don’t struggle with that. up to you, do whatever works. for me, i only go with the direction of hair growth on my pubic area and on armpits, except sometimes i go against on my armpits to get a closer shave. generally, it’s more irritating to shave against, but it’s up to you and what you can tolerate. for me, i end up having to chose between a close shave or a ton of itchy irritation and bumps sooo i definitely have to be careful
Dr Dray and other derms tend to prefer chemical exfoliants like Amlactin, Cetaphil Rough and Bumpy (urea), Eucerin Intensive Repair Body Lotion for Dry Skin has urea/lactic acid, Alpha Skin Care Body Lotion has 12% glycolic. Necessaire has a body exfoliant.
If you have to use a physical exfoliant, scrubs can be better than dry brushing. Choose a scrub that has dense but gentle scrub particles. Do not scrub 1 spot for too long. You can also use an exfoliating wash cloth with body wash. Be gentle. Make sure to wash and dry it after each use.
I have super sensitive skin and I used to use hair conditioner to shave my legs but nowadays I just soak in the tub for awhile and then shave without anything but a man’s razor. I shave against the growth toward my knee but it’s a feather light touch with the razor…. No pressure I just let it glide. Baby smooth skin afterwards and I moisturize as soon as I get out of the shower, like within 3 minutes of drying off so I can lock in the moisture.
maybe she doesn't shave her legs. I'm the only woman I know who does not grow hair on the legs to shave. as a teenager it was alarming when I first learned that women shave their legs?
@@RabbitWatchShop wait, women grow hair on their thighs too? I suppose it could be genetics because my mom did not shave there wasn't anything to shave and I guess that's why I didn't know and was shocked when I learned. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wife
I found it hilarious how you only go through one second of the video before making that facial expression 😭😭
Please address various methods for shaving/removal of facial hair 🙂

My hair doesn’t even have a single direction of growth anyways so I’m just shave however 😅
I used Differin’s 10% BPO to shave with. It’s micronized so there’s a teeny bit of exfoliating. I liked it
Dry brushing should mainly be used for draining the lymphatic system
That's what I've heard as well!
That's what I use it for every now and then but it can be irritating, no matter how soft the bristles are
Never understood shaving WITH the hair growth.... It just SHARPENS MY STUBBLE!!!
I paid high price for dry exfoliating my skin! It triggered an unsightly rash that spread on my legs.
So is it better to use body scrubs?

Cuz she gets some extra from the companies? @@db-gb5xi

Better than what?
I like dry brushing for blood flow. Nothing else. It’s gruesome though.
To much work for me😅😂
I like simple routines

Doc, let’s be real, do you REALLY shave with the grain when you shave your legs? I don’t know a single person that does. lol
I sure don’t and I’ve never had any issue with ingrowns, but maybe it’s different for other people

Way too much work if I'm prickly 12 hours later 😂
My exact thought. Back before I did IPL, I would just have stubble again, half a day later 😭
@@raraavis7782 what's your review for IPL? I am thinking of buying an IPL too and thinking if it's a good replacement for Laser hair removal
In the direction of the hair growth? Oh man I’ve been doing it wrong for 20 years 😅
I have dry brushed my skin towards my heart for years. But I shave my legs against the direction of hair growth.
So should i brush dry skin or wet

Shave in the direction of hair growth not against???? I am today years old when I learned this!!😱😱😱😱
The best change I made was to never re-use my razors. I used to have redness but it is gone.
