- Its 23rd Anniversary of PS2, and it gave me an excuse to cover some of the hidden gems of PS2's library, starting with Genji: Dawn of the Samurai. Genji: Dawn of the Samurai is a decent alternative to Onimusha series, it offers linear hack'n slash experience in 12th century of Japan. Its one of the roughest hidden gems of PS2 that needs to be experienced.

One of my favorite games of all-time. I beat this game at least 10 times. That final boss first was difficult the first time around
I came back to this game after years and played from scratch just for the memories, and just cleared the story a few minutes before seeing your video. What a coincidence haha!
This obscure gem deserves more love and attention. I keep coming back to it like once every 4 or 5 years and it's still awesome!

@@arcadenaut I'm actually thinking of finally giving the sequel a try, too. I've been reluctant to play it considering the game mechanics were redone and not in a very good way. But I guess I love this series too much for my own good.
100% agree - this game is excellent and generally overlooked. A true hidden gem of PS2.
nice vid. I have good memories of playing this game with my college roommate. Its a pretty fun game for the era, tho yeah its short. we 100% the entire game in like 2 days . Still worth it tho. Quality > quantity
I played this game when I was 10. At that time, I didn't really understand English that much but I kept playing anyway. My brother also sat down with me to cheer me up when I was fighting Phoneix boos. I really love this game.

I loved this game. It's art style. I still have my physical copy but, I use emulators for easy peasey lemon squeezy :)
