  • I take you along through my everyday horseshoeing and what entails on a basic shoeing job for a horse that I have been doing for multiple years. Initially I thought I was going to have to do new shoes but the fronts ended up being thick enough to reset and I did have to do new shoes on the hind feet though.
    Drop a comment if you would like to see more everyday shoeing content and/or the ins and outs of a day for a professional farrier out there making a living.

    I just love watching you work and talk horse shoeing. Little taps here and there and even when you drop your tools, it looks professional lol. Most of all love the care and respect you have for your four legged clients.

    That horse got thin hoof walls, I’d be watching on hardly ever any raspin on them :0/

    Do you work in the Willamette Valley, Salem, Oregon? I have a horse that could use your experience, correcting his growth after a laminitis event in November. He is doing much better on
    Prascend and low sugar Hay I just need some help getting his hoof growth corrected. If you’re not available, could you recommend a fantastic Farrier near Salem?

      Well I actually got it for free like 8 years ago from someone about to throw it in the trash but I’ve put 3 liners in it over the years and it’s about to get its 4th liner!

    Do you have any issues with the fine side of the green tangs clogging up in the environment you work in?

      Just something I’ve learned to deal with no matter what rasp it is 🤷‍♂️ but green tang definitely has the best finish

      @@USAfarrier-pnwfarriershow I'm yet to find a rasp that doesn't clog 😅 used Save Edge for a bit then moved to Heller White now on Heller Green and think they're the best I've used so far, plus being bigger they help more with shifting the hoof of the heavy horses!

    When you say the sole is bottomed out , what do you see that tells you.

    • @USAfarrier-pnwfarriershow
      @USAfarrier-pnwfarriershow  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Meaning essentially the plane of the hoof is already worn away at the apex of the frog and cannot go any deeper with a hoof pick to decipher sole depth.
