On a side note: our nearly-synced upload times will never not be funny to me xD Like, we both upload so randomly yet we manage to publish the videos so close to eachother! +My newest repaint also features me using liquid green stuff for the first time AND a technique inspired by Stephanie Blaylock! She looks amazing, especially her dappling turned out so gorgeous, tho the light 'countershading' these dark Greys have turned out impressively well too. Makes me interested in doing my own, but I lack the supplies for that so far. XD I'd love to hear your thoughts on natural vs unnatural customs, to be honest. I've seen some stunning works during the past months, one of which is an intricately patterned Hippocampus and another extreme custom of a sitting Arabian horse with real hair. All in Classic or Traditional Breyer scale, I believe. I know some people don't like fantasy horses (I mean something with unnatural colours and patterns and with deer antlers, scales, a mermaid tail for a butt, etc.) or prefer a minimal to medium version (like your Kelpie horse for example). But I'm curious what you think of those. Whether it's worth 'butchering' a 60 dollar (or more) Breyer for them, plus all the work, or if you prefer basic edits or taking models as-is and re-colouring them. Doesn't need to be things you yourself would eventually do, just what you think about it and if or if not you like them and why. Oh, and I'm always curious about what favourite mutation or oddity people have. Brindle, Somatic, Appaloosa Odd-Spots, Mosaic, Manchado, etc.. Or what you think the most underappreciated horse colour (or gene combination) is.

I have been flirting with 1:35 and even 1:48 scale and they are tiny and, you guessed it, I want to make teeny-weeny tack, I think I can use flat dental floss painted to simulate leather (I got this from a lovely lady, Lady Miniac, who does miniature medieval books and scrolls and it looks like leather in miniature). I imagine I will need to simplify it a lot too. Hope you are keeping well and wish you and your loved ones a happy Christmas and a healthy and happy 2025 xx

I hopped online to look at PanPastels and they are expensive!! I want to know if im going to fully enjoy this hobby before investing into it thats all 😅😊
Ah thank youu! I think if you want to just try out the hobby, then trying out painting only with acrylics can be a good start. If you spend time blending and layering them, you can really get nice results, and it's great practise and a good foundation if you want to continue with more materials etc. I reccomend Marabu acrylic paint, ecpeically for white, but there are many brands that work. Feel free to ask if youre wondering about anything else :)
