I'll probably be against most here, but for me Ozzmosis was Ozzy's first record with a really good sound. If you listen to the final versions of those Ozzmosis recordings today, they still sound modern and clean, not drowned in that ugly 80s reverb. Those versions are an interesting look into history, but they sound dated. But I'm glad they decided to change producers and make Ozzmosis sound the way it does.
I was in Okinawa, Japan when Ozzmosis came out. I bought that without hearing a single note. Blew me away. I love it. I’ve always said it’s the absolute best record post Randy.
I remember hearing Ozzy in 1995 in an interview for MTV that he had spent more money than ever on that sound through the work of the album's producer Michael Beinhorn (Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marilyn Manson, Korn, etc.)
When this version was released, I was captivated. The saxophone and raw sound, IMO, make it better than the album cut. As an aside, a lot of people gave this album bad reviews and did not like the sound. But I think it was one of the best. It was heavy and dark. Plus, Geezer and Wylde were in the band. The songs ranged from sadness to anger, and even a few ballads. Ozzmosis is classic!
I'm here because Michael Wagener was just interviewed by Eddie Trunk and they discussed these songs. Michael was hired to make the exact same record as, "No More Tears". 7 songs were finished & mixed, but then the label asked Michael to make the songs sound like Soundgarden ( very dry and in your face) After a break in recording the label hired the Soundgarden producer. Michael said Ozzy hated what was done and thought these demos are 100 times better.
@@moongloomable no I prefer Ozzmosis because it reminds me of middle school in the mid 90s and the album was great and I loved listening to it. Still do.
oh MAN !!! I always wished to hear the saxophone in this version !!!!! wooow !!!! i love that jazz/funky/pop-rock vibe !!!! Kinda Lethal Weapon 3 soundtrack!!!!
Biggest mistake on Ozzmosis was changing producers the demo versions sound way better in every way. Zakk said he threw the tape of the finished version of perry mason out the window while driving 😆
It wasn't a mistake, it was a good decision. Ozzmosis sounds great, it's perfect. I like it much better than this. But it can be very subjective of course.
@I am Supernaut thanks for sharing ! Would be interesting (especially now with Randy Rhoads having to part us) for Ozzy to take some tangents much like Robert Plant has done outside of Zeppelin?
I love the beefy heavier drums on this demo version compared to studio. Not sure if this is Randy Castillo still or Mike Borden. Can’t remember if Randy was still part of Ozzy’s band at this point or if he had left. He was an Amazing drummer as well as Tommy Aldridge and Lee Kerslake. Shame Randy passed in 2002 and Lee in 2020 I believe RIP to them both.
@@ChrisRosenquist So Castronovo was only on the released (Ozzmosis) studio album? I know he’s on some of the demos out there. Randy didn’t come back til after Deen was fired-after the first leg of the tour. Ozzmosis had already been recorded. Castillo is on the video for Perry Mason, but doesn’t play on any studio tracks.
Hope Ozzy release a Deluxe version for this album that includes these demos and also the original version for Aimee, which I cannot found in any place here on TH-cam
A impressão que tenho é que nessa versão passa uma sensação mais de música romântica, não sei ao certo. Enquanto a versão do álbum foi feita pra ser obscura.
I lost a girl I used to date back when I was 18 too and she was a total metal head tattoo enthusiast that even put me to shame. She died a few years back from her problems after her stroke. I always think of her when listening to Ozzy
@@MichaelFougere Are all of the Ozzmosis demos during the same timeframe? Because I swear it sounds like his style of drumming on “Oh, No, the Bitch Won’t Go,” and I can’t find details. (Lightning fast double kick action…)
I have a vinyl rip of this from his box set. It skipped at some parts so I put snippets of this one to fill the skips. However, it gets blocked when I try to post it. How did you work around this?

Perfect! Besides Randy’s albums, Ozzmosis is by far my favorite.

Ahhh this version is finally back on TH-cam! I’ve really been missing that sax. Thank you, sir

Both versions are fantastic. Amazing song!
Very cool version, so sad the others didn't realized, so interesting... Love this song, but studio version so cool!!! Wow
Ozzy himself said he liked this version over the Ozzmosis version
I prefer this one
That's hard to believe, the sax ruins it and the vocals are very muddy. I'd like to see or hear that.
@@KeizerHedorah Look it up, the one on Ozzmosis really didnt sound that good unlike this one that sounded more in tune
@@ShadowSabrewulf look up the interview?
Nice and beautiful version...Love it Ozzy
omg I‘m in love with this version, thank you so much for uploading it!
Hands down my favorite song by Ozzy. Ozzmosis was my favorite album.
Really? Not Diary of a Madman?

@@JaroAtry Yeah Ozzmosis does sound more polished the sax was big in 80s pop songs just sounds out of place here.
The entire demos for ozzmosis were recorded with the No more tears lineup. It sounded just like that, it would have been an AWESOME record that way
Love the song, but not necessarily seeing Oz sing it ? Love the sax and back vocals ! Thank you

I really think Ozzy took inspiration from the Tears For Fears song Woman In Chains for this Gem 💖💖
Good!
Clearly with every breath from 1 blessing to the next Boo 🖤 I love you Ozzy
wow! nice version, thanks for uploading!!! LOVE OZZ ♥
I like this version way better!👍
Awesome
Very nice
This is absolutely the very best thing he’s done since the Randy Rhoads years.
And even this pales in comparison

Castronovo is on the studio version and some of the demos. He’s plays on Oh no, the Bitch Won’t Go that is a demo from Ozzmosis, too.
I like this alot
Goddam this is amazing
Fantastic
I like this
Excelente versión
❤ Awesomeness 🎉😊

La guitarra pudieron editarla pero el saxofón, wow! La hubieran lanzado como versión alternativa algo como balada pop ochentera.

This is the best album since Randy Rhoads.
Saxophone 🎷 !!
I found out today that an Ex girlfirend passed away. I never heard this version until today. Thank you.

🙏🏻 in the company of several broken hearts
A saxophone? as if it were music by George Michael
i believe this version has Mike Inez and Randy Castillo on it
Deen Castronovo is on quite a few demos, so I don’t know how anyone would know. Playing seems more like him.
@@PeachWNK this demo was recorded while they were out on the road for No More Tears. This track predates the Ozzmosis sessions by a few years.

I love this track, but the mixing was not quite there on vocals. Everything else was dramatically superior however.
I see Tim Capello
Sound totally disturb not clear
It's a bit out of time with itself. It's different.
I hated the sax. The chorus in the Ozzmosis is better. But the rest is very nice.
Thank god they took out that saxophone or whatever that horrendous noise is. Still cool to hear a different version though.
