  • This channel provides you with technological information on mechanical design (CAD). Mechanical Engineering design is the application of engineering principles and Mechanical engineering technologists are expected to apply current technologies and principles from the machine and product design. The Ceylon CAD will provide you with new and various designs, concepts, and knowledge to design, and Solid works are used to create all videos on this channel.

    I have designed many end effectors for palletizing and this is flawed. When you place two boxes on a pallet you usually have to place them next to another box. In your design the gripper cannot place the boxes next to other boxes as when it opens it pushes the other boxes.

      1.they planned to put a couple of boxes on the pallet in two rows (2 by 2) or as well as 3 x 3..then how did you said that is impossible? this is a EOAT of a robot arm.
      2.in case of one by one ,your are right. then need some modifications

    Fantastic. Do you have any UDEMy Training? I want to learn nice Mechanism little this. Sorry my english is not so good.

    Is this not a problem that it is twice as wide as the package itself. Can it be designed in a way that the tool width decreases when gripping.
    Festo ELGG electric axis with toothed belt and and two opposing slides is similar to yours.

      the concept has been designed as per the client's requirements.

    costs more than just using 2 pneumatic cylinder and it is over complex for what it does

      When gripping an object,How can you center an Object accurately ,between the two jaws using two actuators 😂
      Your poor knowledge doesn't work 😝

    • @raymondvanroest372
      @raymondvanroest372 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ceylonCAD Did I state anything about centering the object? No I only stated that it is costly and over complex, I can see that your design does center the items but what happens if the box is heavier at one end and causes a big imbalance how do you accommodate that? So go back to the drawing board and figure that out! can this mechanism be only opened a small amount to release the boxes onto the pallet without knocking other boxes of the pallet how are you controlling that.🤨

    • @ceylonCAD
      @ceylonCAD  หลายเดือนก่อน

      In this application, A robot arm grabs Only one box and moves the box to another location. Hence,when releasing a box, no impact between boxes.as well as no imbalance. The Design concept was designed as per the client's requirements

      @@ceylonCAD lets say you have 3 boxes on the pallet in an L shape format you place the 4 box in the remaining space when you release the box, the mechanism will push at least one box out of position so how is the release amount controlled, also your video depicts the mech grabbing 2 boxes not 1 so now the pallet has an L shape 2*2*2 leaving a small square in the center, as for balance personal experience has shown me some items packed in a box can be biased to be heavier at one end than the other, so balance does become a problem "I work with items that can weigh up to 3500 kg and one end can most definitely be heavier than the other". In the perfect world where a box is packed in such a way that the cog is dead in the middle of the package the mech would be ok and may meet the clients needs but there is no flexibility to accommodate imbalance if the cog is off to one end. I wouldn't discount my knowledge having worked in large scale warehousing for around 10 years with an annual product turn over of around $80M in 1985 to $140M in 2002, also on top of that engineering for almost 30 years.
