The only things to wreck Neymar’s career was: 1. playing in the prime years of Messi and Ronaldo 2. Leaving Barcelona 3. Getting injured so often I think it’s so weird that Neymar has actually been at PSG longer than he was at Barca (2013-2017 Vs. 2017-2023) like everything good about Neymar and how happy he was, happened during those 3.5 years he was at Barcelona. I think he should’ve stayed at Barcelona way longer- not only did he not get injured as hard in La Liga, but he clearly would’ve taken a way bigger role than Messi by now. I mean I’ll always respect Neymar and see him as one of the best to ever do it, but that decision probably costed his career- I feel like he could kinda do what ever kind of dribbling he wanted in La Liga, but no one wanted him to have that Brazilian flair in France- aka they basically wanted to snap his right ankle as often as possible. Neymar only stayed at Barca for 4 seasons but I still see him as a legend of the club.
well apparently, its his father the one who convinced him to move to psg. last week suarez told the media about his move and how both suarez and messi tried asking him to stay. for me, his movement is the biggest turn. ney was one of my most fav player, then till now, but, i won't deny how hard he's downgraded. if only, he stay at barcelona, everything might be different. tho deep down, i also don't know what he thought actually back then, but, yeah, maybe it's all written in his life by God. lol. and that's how i can accept whatever things that happened on him rn hahaha
Europeans have no idea but Neymar 2010 to 2012 was like god on earth here on Brazil, everyone was going to watch him, even if was to score against our club.
in brasil any pille of trash that can do some shity dribbles is a god, the problemes come when he comes to play whit the real men....then he sees is is not that good so he stars to run from the fights, start to drink get fat and just becomes another...WHAT IF...
At that time in Brazil Neymar was an icon to every kid, he was a young charismatic man who loved football and played like art, he was people like us people, he was hope. Everyone rocked a mohawk and dreamed to be like him, everyone gathered around this figure someway. It was a pleasure to grow up watching him play in Brazil, that were the best days of my life
Fr. When I was a kid all the boys in my class would be using that mohawk and we were feeling ourselves lol. Everyone was a fan of Neymar even those that cheered for the rival clubs, myself included.
The fact he is considered a flop with a champions league trophy winning a treble in a season he was so vital..being in the top 3 balloon d or ranking...etc is a testament to his potential and what he could have achieved.
His potential was "greatest player of all time" so the fact that he capped out at "one of the best in the world when healthy" feels like a disappointment
he was considered to be the one who finally surpasses the likes of ronaldo and messi but his ego caught up to him. He still is an amazing player without a doubt and he is literally tied with peles goal scoring record for the national team as of right now but he could've been so much more compared to where he is now.

Imagine if he never left Barcelona or get injured. What he could’ve become by now sends shivers down my spine. He could’ve been the next one to win consecutive Ballon d’Ors after the Messi and Ronaldo era, even though he aged. People hated on Neymar so much we all seemed to forget just how good of a footballer he is. There is no wonderkid to ever be as good and hyped as Neymar. Fans expected and he delivered. No what people dislike about Neymar is the personality. His ego dwarfs that of even Cristiano Ronaldo. However Cristiano was dedicated to looking after himself and Neymar wasn't. Incredible talent who achieved so much, yet could of achieved so much more had he not been more interested in fame and money.

But, for comparison purposes, although Ronaldo Fenomeno won the Ballon d'Or at the age of 20, he didn't compete against Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo living at the height of his career. Neymar was ridiculously brilliant, not only were there a lot of goals (136 in 3 years) but the goals were the epitome of plasticity. Rivaldo and Romário also had a brilliant start to their careers in Brazil, but did not win the Ballon d'Or early in their careers.

Before PSG and Barcelona, every club in Europe including West Ham wanted Neymar because he was that good. Even the great Ronaldinho has gave his blessings to Neymar during their time at the Brazilian League. Barcelona came calling and Neymar at one point was the 3rd best player in the world and played a key role for Barcelona in their treble winning season and the great comeback against PSG in 2017. Yes his time at PSG is at best mixed but he finished 3rd again in the Ballon D'or rankings in 2017. Neymar deserves respect for his career.
When I was a kid I always believed Neymar was the 3rd best player in the world. It's a shame he hasn't won a ballon d'or but he definitely could get one if he joins another club and performs well
Neymar and Griezmann deserve a lot ❤ both are unique types of players. One is a dribbling and skill king 👑 and the other is a all rounder maestro. If these two were not in Messi and Ronaldo generation then they both would have been the main rivals. Honestly both deserve at least a ballon d'ors each.
Another great tale happened in the game against CAP you show in the video (4x1). Right Before the game Antonio Lopes, CAP's coach, showed a newspaper photo of Neymar to his players and shouted: "this guy is not gonna do nothing against us tonight!". Then he tore the newspaper and stomped on it. As CAP's player Paulo Baier recalls, Neymar not only scored as he did it 6 times, with 2 goals been ruled offside... LOL! * BTW, Great work, mate! Love your videos.
The CAP coach was completely correct. A real prophet! As a grammar nerd (sorry), I will point out that he said a double negative, which makes it a positive. Neymar's not gonna do nothing = he will do something. And he did! I wonder if the coach felt like an idiot afterwards? On the other hand, a coach has to say assertive, encouraging things to his team.
The only player in my opinion I have ever seen that could realistically have gotten to Messi's level but bad luck, injuries and some bad decisions cost him dearly. I hope he has one last high point before his career ends.
Hey can you make a video the crazy story of Meazza, How Buffon became juventus greatest ever player, how Kante took the world by storm, how Van der sar became netherlands greatest goalkeeper, how Manchester United had to call Paul scholes out of retirement, how Lewandowski became the most dangerous striker ever, how Zola became a chelsea legend, the rise and fall of Mario gomez, how philip Lahm never got a red card and how Morata never realized his potential, how Matt LeTissier is the finest midfielder ever, how Alan shearer dominated football and finally How Raul scored 300+ goals for Reall madrid

Thats because it don’t matters how good a player is. If he’s not playing in Europe, It didn’t matter for ballon d’or. It’s simply not a worldwide prize. It’s an European only prize. 2000 Romario season in Brazil also was ridiculously good, and he wasn’t even in the top 10 list. Neymar was only nominated because all the hype over his name. I liked this doc about neymar. it's just missing 3 things. 1 - the scouter who discovered him in Santos, firtly watched a kid running through the stands without losing his balance... 2 - you should show neymar goal agains atletico mg when the defenders shocked into each other. 3 - and show his goal against Internaticional de porto alegre, almost a puskas.
My favourite player one of the most skilled players to ever play the game can't believe he got soo much and disrespect because of diving meanwhile most footballers dive when they know they can get a foul and everyone overlooks his talent and doesn't give him his praise🤦🏾♂️
Hahah I played the Copa Tv Tribuna de Futsal Escolar against Neymar's team (Liceu Sao Paulo) in 2005, here in Santos, and in many other opportunities at the AABB (Assosiacao Amigos do Banco do Brasil). I used to study at the Santa Cecilia school, which was owned by the former president of Santos F.C. - Milton Teixeira Jr, the Jr part is important because his family has a legacy in front of Santos F.C., his father, Milton Teixeira, was the president in times of Pelé playing for the team, particularly the time that Pelé got transferred to Cosmos NY. We had a particularly tough game in the final against Liceu. Neymar was outstanding. Since our school was owned by the president of Santos, 80% of our team was from the club youth team, due to the scholarship that the president offered to these (great) futsal youth players. Even this great team wasn't enough to beat him. I was benched this final and watched a legend be born. It's funny to see that kid becoming worldly famous. Now I have a great story to tell to many people around the world about the days I used to play against him in my hometown. Great video, great analysis, and great channel! Congratulations on your research, very deep and concise!
People will never forget how good Neymar when he was young for me he was the best young player I ever seen in Santos he made me love football even more

Why are all three forwards? It's hard for me to believe that none of the top 3 greatest players of this generation are goalies, midfielders or defenders.

i agree with most things but you're wrong, Riquelme was nominated(13th) for the Ballon d'Or in 2007 after winning the Copa Libertadores, Golden boot and MVP at the same tournament scoring 4 goals in the final and also took Argentina to Copa America final which they ultimately lost to Brazil. All this while playing for Boca Juniors, the biggest club in Argentina
Great video! Can you please do one on Rogerio Ceni? You mentioned him and was a monster of the Brazillian league, the first player to be nominated to a Baloon d’or while playing in South America (in 2005, when he got 11th place), someone who stayed as a one club player stuck in Brazil even after being considered the top 5-4 goalkeeper in the world multiple times. He holds many records, like the GK who defended the most penalties in history (51), who scored the most goals (131!), the player who played the most games for a single club in history (1237). The man was elected the best goalkeeper in the Brazilian league in 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008, year in which he also was elected the best player in the league. Let’s also not tall about the fact that he played until he was 42, from 1990 up until 2015. Oh yeah, one other thing. You know how Juninho Pernambucano is the all time free-kick top scorer in the world with 77 free kicks? Well, Rogerio Ceni has 59 (61 including friendlies). Anyways, I find it really interesting how he’s just completely unknown and not talked about in the world scene, even if he’s such a legend in the country, as he only played in Brazil (he also took part in the 2002 world cup, but he was mostly benched because of disagreements with the coach, even if for many it was clear he was the one who should be the national team’s goalkeeper).
Neymar without injuries and a little bit more of a jocky-competitive attitude = GOAT. But, I like reality Neymar, he knows that life is short , he cares about himself, and he cares about others.
While an amazing player, people don’t like him because of his attitude, and his constant diving. He has tarnished his own legacy, he has nobody to blame but himself
Neymar in Santos was the best player I have ever seen myself and by my standards. He didn’t care about anything he just did what he wanted.
@Marvin agreed and that party and other stuff increased when he moved to PSG
4 - his habit of getting injured eveytime his sister birthday
Neymar so unlucky he can’t even be the best player born on his birthday. Ronaldo has the same birthday
well apparently, its his father the one who convinced him to move to psg. last week suarez told the media about his move and how both suarez and messi tried asking him to stay. for me, his movement is the biggest turn. ney was one of my most fav player, then till now, but, i won't deny how hard he's downgraded. if only, he stay at barcelona, everything might be different. tho deep down, i also don't know what he thought actually back then, but, yeah, maybe it's all written in his life by God. lol. and that's how i can accept whatever things that happened on him rn hahaha

LOL!

I fell in love with football because of his skills❤️
Neymar in Santos was the best player I have ever seen myself and by my standards. He didn’t care about anything he just did what he wanted. Never seen anything like it, still waiting for anyone coming close to his skill level and confidence. Too bad he changed after moving to Europe but we have seen some glimpses of his true potential in PSG.
His career in Brazil was outstanding. Brazilians knew It already
dude I don’t know where you’re from but this is amazing, I’m brazilian and I’m impressed at how detailed and precise this video is
I remember almost every moment of this era, I’m a Corinthians fan and Santos is one of our biggest rivals but I loved watching them because of Ney and Ganso, which btw I think is the only point u missed to cover, because this duo was so iconic and Ganso was ridiculously good as well
Ney was legendary during this era
Ele é português
@@JVRD27 boa 👌🏼
Living so young during this era. The era of most probably the greatest players to ever exist and grace the grassy fields of football. I always loved Neymar when I was younger, rooting and cheering for him even though my family weren't as interested in football as me. This era, coming to it's end will always sadden me and Neymar will always sadden and joy me at the same time. What a player he was, what a player he is.
Neymar would never survive 80s or 90s brutality. Also Messi,CR are best this generation...not ever. So this was a fine era for Neymar, but he went to Barca and with that talent he was 2nd to Messi. Barca almost played around Messi that time who was better in scoring with creativity. Neymar in ATM with Griezi would destroy both Barca and Real. And he left Barca and chose psg.
Nunca vou superar dunga não chamando ronaldinho gaucho e neymar pra essa copa simplesmente o inimigo da estratégia
Most talented ever ❤❤
he is just another GOAT just like messi
Neymar is my GOAT. Like honestly he is super underrated and deserves ATLEAST 3 ballon d’ors
Neymar in santos was unreal.. In 2011 when internet and social media were not common yet, his name was spreading around the globe.. The hyped was almost as big as young R9.. Every kids wanted to be like neymar, every kids wanted to play like him, got mohawk haircut like him... Every skilled footballers were called junior in their last name to represent neymar... Hes already completed when hes came out same as R9.. Even messi and cr7 were not as hyped as him cause messi and cr7 were late bloomers... But footballer like Neymar will never come again... No matter how haters completely mocked or downgraded him.. Hes still the best wonderkid of all times and the third best footballer in Messi cr7 era... Theres no next neymar whatsoever .. Vini,Mbappe, haaland, saka, musiala or any of others will never reached even half of Neymar in santos....❤
2011 social media was pretty common dude, I don't know what you're talking about.
@@felipeemanuel5790 no... Only rich kid got computer and wifi... Any ordinary people including me in malaysia only had normal button phone with no internet at all.. in malaysia lot of people started using social media in 2014 when android phone was introduced ...
Neymar is a legend for sure. Miss him in his Santos days he was a god. I would say he’s in the top 3 /5 Brazil players which he is very hard to do
Sorry but you're dead wrong. Ronaldo R9 was the greatest teenage wonderkid ever. By the time he was 21 he had nearly one goal a game (more goals than Haaland at the same age), proved himself in 4 different leagues, won a fifa player of the year, won a ballon d'or, won a golden boot, was part of a world cup winning team at age 16 and was universally seen as the clear best player on earth. So really, all the time you wasted in this video was rendered pointless by the stupidity of the title. No. Neymar wasn't the greatest wonderkid.
Precisly...
Pelé is, by far, the greatest wonderkid that ever existed. At 23, he already had 410 goals and 177 assists, 2 WCs, 2 Libertadores and 2 Intercontinentals. At 24, he made 83 goals and 40 assists in 55 matches.
@@saidblanco7696 pele played in the Amazon's pre offside rule. His stats are meaningless.
@@gabkoost Offside was created in 1863, even before pro football was a thing. Pelé won 2 World Cups, 2 Libertadores and 2 Intercontinental Cups (against UCL winners Benfica and Milan) at 23. Ronaldo won 2 WCs, a Confederaciones and a Copa América. Neymar won a Libertadores, a Champions League, a Confederaciones and a Club WC.
-Ronaldo best year in Brazil (1994, 18 years old): 27 goals and 9 assists in 30 matches.
-Neymar best year in Brazil (2012, 20 years old): 52 goals and 31 assists in 72 matches.
-Pelé second best year in Brazil (1958, 18 years old): 75 goals and 18 assists in 53 matches.
-Pelé best year in Brazil (1965, 25 years old): 72 goals and 32 assists in 53 matches.
-R9 and Neymar best years in Brazil combined: 79 goals and 40 assists in 102 matches.
-Pelé best age in Brazil: 83 goals and 40 assists in 55 matches.
Pelé doubles Ronaldo and Neymar stats at 23. Young Pelé >>> Young R9 and Neymar.
@@saidblanco7696 Pele playing in the Amazon's with half the Brazilian national team at Santos means nothing to me and most people. Never proved himself in underdog teams. Neymar shouldn't even be mentioned in the same argument as its entire legacy is made of being in the shadows if Messi and losing with Brazil.
