It's called Escuela Cubana de Boxeo, something like the "Cuban style". You need to be born in Cuba to understand. It's like dancing casino, which is very Cuban and it comes naturally, from watching others dance. I can tell a Cuban from other Latin Americans just from body language. So that's why Cubans are so good at boxing, and maybe because we were boxing since we were in 1st grade.

the few cubans that are able to escape cuba for the states to compete professional dominate the sport. Boxers like rigondeaux or louis ortiz are amazing boxers

Joel Casamayor, a star in pro boxing, wasnt even the top figure in his weight in Cuba. He went to Barcelona 92 (and won gold!!!) cuz Carrión got injured. Lorenzo Aragon arguably beat Floyd and at times was 2nd in Cuba to Kindelán, 2 time olympic champ. In Beijing, 13 nations had Cuban boxing coaches. There is simply no country with this school of boxing. If these guys had a fair chance to fight in the pro ranks from an early age, Cuba would be 2nd only to the US.

These boxers are good, but you have to see those Cuban boxers from the 70's, 80's , and 90's. The Giraldo Cordova Cardin was a tournament more difficult than the world championship . Those boxers who have gone pro they come to the pro boxing olds. The only Cuban boxer that resembles those Cuban boxer from the 70's, 80's , and 90's is Robeisy Ramirez.

Cubans always do well in the Olympics, but why don't they have a world champion that dominates every year?
A lot of Cuban boxers are not allowed to leave Cuba. The ones that do (Guillermo rigondeaux, Erislandy Lara etc..) do it by escaping without anyone knowing.

why are Cubans not dominating in professional boxing?
They are not allowed
forbidden to leave Cuba
Of course the budget is needed to sporting financiation, did you see the conditions of that GYM??. But in this area, the main problem is that Cuba have to carefully select whish athlete to chose to send to compete in a foreing countries, it can not be just the best, but the personel with less probability of desertion, it is not just politic, because if that is out of control then all good talent will just go away and that's all.
So, I do not think is a good idea for a any country to hardly prepare an athlete or what ever and it leaves lol

Because escaping cuba is a big risk to take,and if you're an established olympic athlete, then the risk becomes much higher.

The gym name is " olbein Quesada "
The name is " La Finca" ( The Farm) is where the national boxing team train.
That's gym its not accesible for the recreational boxing trainee type,cause its the national team headquarters.But in Havana (Old Havana specially),there are very interesting places to learn and practice.(RAFAEL TREJO ARENA example)
+Ireymy R can i go and practise box somwhere in cuba? i believe that is the best place in the world to learn box
Indeed,you may be able to train boxing in a cuban gym.You'll need to check in ,in a hotel in Old Havana area,(INGLATERRA,TELEGRAFO,PLAZA,SEVILLA among others)and try to get to the "popular arenas" around...(Not sofistificated at all and with a lot of materials limitation but certainly GREAT COACHING..)Try to search & watch right here some videos about it,like..."Boxing at Rafael Trejo in Cuba"part 1 etc...

y porque felix savon nunca quiso ser profesional pues muy fácil el estaba en su zona de confort porque como profesional existía Mike tyson y este le hubiera dado una reputisa y había más profesionales en su división que lo hubieran golpeado y por eso tuvo miedo y nunca debuto

يا معشر المسلمين في العالم الإسلامي، انتبهوا الخطر العظيم، انتبهوا لما تدبره إيران ولما تخطط له من تدمير وسحق للإسلام والمسلمين؛ لشدة عداوتها للإسلام والمسلمين، قال تعالى في اليهود: ﴿لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَدَاوَةً لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا﴾[المائدة: 82].
لا يشك مسلم في شدة عداوة اليهود والمشركين للمؤمنين بالله ورسله، وأن لليهود مطامع، ولكنها مطامع محدودة في أراضي المسلمين من النِّيل إلى الفرات، ولا يريدون نشر اليهودية.
وعداوة الرافضة للمسلمين تجمع بين عداوة اليهود والمشركين، ومطامعهم أوسع من مطامع اليهود؛ لأنها تخطط للاستيلاء على العالم الإسلامي كله، وتحويل أهله إلى روافض أعداء لله عز وجل ولرسوله ﷺ وللصحابة الكرام رضوان الله عليهم ومن تبعهم من المؤمنين إلى يومنا هذا.
إن للروافض من العقائد الكفرية ما لا يوجد عند اليهود ولا عند النصارى
1) منها: أن الأئمة يعلمون الغيوب ويتصرفون في كل ذرة من ذرات الكون، وهذا يفوق في الكفر عقائد اليهود والمشركين.
2) ومنها: أن للأئمة حق التشريع ويفترون عليهم من التشريعات الكفرية ما لا تطيقه الأرض ولا السماوات؛ فهم يشرعون الكفريات العظيمة وينسبونها لأهل بيت النبي -برأهم الله منها ونزههم عنها-.
لأنهم يؤمنون أن رسول الله محمدًا ﷺ خاتم النبيين، وأن رسالته كاملة، قال تعالى: ﴿الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا﴾[المائدة: 3].
ولأنهم يؤمنون بقول الله تعالى: ﴿أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ شَرَعُوا لَهُمْ مِنَ الدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَنْ بِهِ اللَّهُ﴾[الشورى: 21].
3) ومن كفريات الروافض: شدة عداوتهم لأصحاب رسول الله ﷺ وتكفيرهم، وهدفهم من هذا: إبطال الشريعة الإسلامية كتابًا وسنةً، تلكم الشريعة الغرَّاء التي حملها الصحابة وبلغوها بدقة عن الله ورسوله ﷺ، وجاهدوا الجهاد العظيم في تبليغها، وإلزام الناس بها، حتى دخلت أمم في هذا الدين على أيديهم.
4) ومن تلكم الكفريات الكثيرة: طعنهم في زوجات رسول الله ﷺ رضي الله عنهن، وقذفهم لأم المؤمنين عائشة رضي الله عنها، والتي برأها الله في عدد من الآيات القرآنية، وهذا الطعن يتناول رسول الله ﷺ في نظر كل مؤمن.
فهم يصورون أصحابه الذين رباهم على أنواع التربية على الإيمان والتوحيد والإخلاص، يصورونهم في أبشع صور الكفر، ويصورون أزواجه الشريفات التقيات في أخبث الصور.
فأي عداوة لله ولرسوله وللمؤمنين تفوق هذه العداوة الخبيثة؟!
يا معشر المسلمين في كل مكان، أعدوا العدة لمواجهة هذا الخطر والتخطيط الإيراني المدمر بالاعتصام بحبل الله جميعًا في عقائدكم وعباداتكم وجهادكم وسياستكم وأخلاقكم، وفي ولائكم وبرائكم، وابتعدوا كل الابتعاد عن البدع والضلالات كلها.
اجتمعوا على كتاب الله وسنة رسوله ﷺ، إذا حققتم هذه المطالب العظيمة رضي الله عنكم ونصركم على أعدائكم نصرًا مؤزرًا لا شك فيه.
قال تعالى: ﴿إِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ﴾[محمد: 7]، وقال تعالى: ﴿وَلَوْ قَاتَلَكُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوَلَّوُا الْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُونَ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا*سُنَّةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ اللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا﴾[الفتح: 22-23].
يا معشر المسلمين جميعًا -ومنهم أهل اليمن، وتونس، والعراق، وسوريا-، حققوا إخلاص التوحيد لله يعزكم الله ويكرمكم في الدنيا والآخرة وينصركم على أعدائكم.
وأعدوا العدة من السلاح، وأعتقد أن عندكم من السلاح ما يكفي وزيادة لتحقيق النصر على هذا العدو الرافضي اللدود وعلى غيره من الأعداء.
أؤكد ما حتمه الله عليكم من الالتزام الكامل بشريعته الغراء وتطبيقها في شتى الميادين، ومنها: حاكمية الله التي تخلت عنها أكثر الدول الإسلامية؛ فسلَّط الله عليهم أعداء الإسلام فأذلوهم وداسوا كرامتهم.
فتخلصوا من هذا الداء المهلك والمدمر بإعلان سيادة حاكمية الله ورفض ما يخالف هذه الحاكمية العليا.
ونرجو الحكومة السعودية الملتزمة بالتوحيد والشرع الكامل وعلمائها أن يحثوا ويشجعوا الدول الإسلامية لتحقيق هذه المطالب العظيمة.
ومنها: الحاكمية التي يجب أن يعتز بها المسلمون جميعا ومنهم أهل اليمن، وتونس، والعراق، وسوريا، ويرفعونها فوق الهامات اعتزازًا بها والتزامًا كاملًا بها ومواجهة أعدائها ولاسيما الروافض.
وفق الله الجميع لما يحب ويرضى
