      The only thing he should have been able to do was block the challengers on the other teams but he wasn't even good at that. The wheel gun guy isn't butt hurt when he doesn't win the F1 world championship. Why can't Botas accept his number 2 position and help the team to the best of his ability?

    The worst offence against Bottas was offering him 1-year contracts every season to keep him on the edge. It was clear Bottas wasn't faster than Hamilton in any given season, but they still did it.

      Hamilton + Bottas would consistently lock out the front row, with Bottas taking pole over Hamilton often enough. Bottas' strength was always quali and that meant he was always in the fight. Checo has much better race craft than Bottas to be sure, but he's stuck racing mid field cars and by the time the pit window opens he's lost too much time to Max to even be relevant to his strategy.
      Having a decent wingman almost every race, is a lot better than a good wingman twice a season.

      The thing with Perez is that RB give him a car where he just cannot feel confident, he doesn't have any feedback from it, he expressed so as of late; And most importantly, he needs to take care of that car first and foremost, 1. Bc he can't have the luxury of breaking it again, and 2. He's a family guy. Then again, one may argue "yOu hAvE tO aDaPt tO aNyThInG yOu'rE givEn"... I wonder what do those people think now that Max doesn't seem to adapt to this car which isn't suited to his style... I know, they blame it on the car now lol.
      Don't forget that Checo won 2 races from Max on pure pace on the brief moment he could feel more confident with the car.
      TL;DR: Checo never was, and still isn't a bad driver. The next Schumacher? Obviously not. But it's just trendy to shit on him.
      P.S.: Now that I think about it it was trendy to shit on Bottas lol, and mald about why the hell didn't Merc fire him and put Russell in earlier.

Bottas actually took points off Max on one occasion, Turkey 2021. Outside of Baku, Checo wasn't really close enough to the front to threaten Lewis.
      Think of Silverstone 2021, a perfect example. Lewis has a 10 second penalty. Checo should be there to take the win and force Lewis to settle for second but he spun off after the restart and so was a non-factor in the race. Bottas was consistently third. He was a very solid driver. If Lewis had an issue, Bottas would be there to secure the points.

Meanwhile, Redbull also, obviously, used Perez to aid in Verstappen's championship push - I'm not sure why you think they didn't? Perez rear gunned for Verstappen all season long, and was particularly more useful to his teammate than Bottas was to Hamilton for the entire final quarter of the season. Most notably the final race, where Perez was left out on shredded tires just to hold Hamilton up, which is what prevented Hamilton from getting a free pit stop at the end the race, and where Bottas was so very far back in the race that Vertappen did get a free stop.

      The team orders in 2021 more were forcing Bottas to take engine penalty after engine penalty, they were stress testing an engine to give hamilton an advantage in the final 4 races. Also, for most of the season Max and Lewis were so far ahead that team orders just didn't matter, no other drivers that year really ever looked to be winning a race on merit.

    For me, the proof that Bottas would not help Hamilton for the championship was in Spain, Verstappen and Hamilton had stopped in the pits and returned behind Bottas (who had not entered the pits yet), Verstappen overtook without resistance, but Hamilton was held back for a few corners and Bottas could have simply gotten out of the way. In return, he secured the constructors for Mercedes

      Bottas had no purpose taking a faster lap point in this situation. The funniest thing is we saw a similar situation happen played out earlier that season when RB literally boxed Perez at Silverstone with the intention of taking fastest lap point away for Lewis which he duly did or later that season in Qatar when Max boxed for the fastest lap point
      The only reason Bottas was boxed was because the delta from him to Lewis pre stops wasn’t big enough for Lewis to box and get back ahead of Bottas it wasn’t for him to get the fastest lap

    • @rvfharrier
      @rvfharrier 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      For real, wonder if these same people had an issue with Red Bull pitting Perez from P10 in the final laps of Silverstone in order to take the FL point off of Lewis. That's arguably even worse because Sergio didn't even get that point, as you only get the point for fastest lap if you actually finish in the top 10. So RB clearly decided actively taking a point off of Sergio was worth it so that the point didn't go to Lewis, therefore benefitting Max. That'll probably just be logical championship management though lol.
