It's time for a new adventure! After having trekked through many of these games time and time again, I wanted to have one final ultimate challenge in the vanilla mainline Pokemon franchise... Can I beat, every SINGLE Pokemon game in chronological order in a hardcore nuzlocke setting, and without reusing a single Pokemon in any other game? For instance, if I use Bulbasaur in Red version, I won't be able to use it in Blue, Yellow, Firered, or any other game. Come along on this journey with me and find the struggles, the cuts, the innovations, the strategies, and the potential laughs along the way.

Rules of the challenge:
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch one Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

Mega Drain was raised to power 75 in LGPE, so it is essentially Giga Drain.

12:25 You're right, Giga Drain isn't in Let's Go. However, to compensate, they upped the power of Mega Drain to 75. They also upped Absorb from 20 to 40.

Great video! Your dedication to play through Let's Go Pikachu again without candies was great, and made a more interesting video. Glad to see my pal Starmie being a key part of the team in Eevee. The coverage moves go kinda crazy.
There's a reason Starmie's used as the main mon in Let's Go Eevee speedruns once you have access to it! It's crazy good.

I mean, its stats at level 8 are overall better than the best level 100 Oddish possible in normal games.
Oddish's stats in normal games max out between 174 and 294 depending on the stat. And that's counting natures.

Toxic is a funny situation when it comes to poison types. Instead of toxic becoming 100% accurate with Poison types, It bypasses accuracy entirely with Poison types like Hurricane in the Rain or Blizzard in the Hail/Snow.
I was NOT expecting Lets Go Pikachu to be basically an Oddish solo run. FUN!

@@Robin_hsr12 we're yet to see if he will go all the way to Volo or even the Arceus battle or stop after Dialga/Palkia like so many do. Hopefully he'll go all the way!

I must admit at first when I realised you were gonna solo LGP I was a bit disappointed as it didnt seem right to use only one encounter per run. Massive respect to you for doing it again within the spirit of this series. Seriously impressive stuff especially considering how long this challenge has been going. Keep it up definitely the most entertaining challenge run/series on TH-cam 🤝🏻
Level 8 with 200 stats, that's actually pretty damn broken, despite how much time it needs to catch all of them!

The Sandshrew mistake sucks even more when you realize you can trade for the Alolan version in Celadon City. That would be a second Steel Type to use against Agatha later.
I also realized that the reason they let you get Helping Hand is because you can activate the second Joycon to have another player use one of your other Pokemon in battle. That would allow a Parent to boost their kid's main Pokemon if they were assisting them through the game..
I didn't expect "Pyrrhic Victory" and "You rat bastard!" in the same video, but I love it.

No matter how many times I see examples, im constantly surprised at how frail Onyx is. A Charzard's Heat Wave doing 25% damage nearly one shots it, and a Golbat Fly doing half damage does 75%. Its pretty absurd

Fun fact, mega drain got buffed to have giga drain's power in let's go only. The same is true for absorb having mega drain previous power.
Also, solarbeam and sky attack both have 200 base power in this game, since there's no power herb nor weather to make those moves more reliable.
After all of Pokémon’s Oddish love following Path to the Peak, I too have a newlyfound appreciation for Oddish
While I do like FRLG more and think they are a better pair of remakes, I have a really big soft spot for Let’s Go Eevee due to a personal experience. When I first got into Pokémon (Sapphire, if anyone is curious) I knew NOTHING about strategy or type effectiveness. I just leaf bladed everything (even stuff like Golbat and Skarmory). I don’t even use items in battle because my mindset is “why waste a turn on an item when I can just hit stuff?” Despite all of this, I get to the Elite 4… and I can’t win. Not even with my level 70 Sceptile and a Kyogre, and I have to ask my cousin to do it for me. Fast forward to when the Let’s Go games came out. Eevee is my best friend’s first Pokémon game and he reaches the E4. He is really struggling, can’t win at all, and by the time he asks me for help he has no money and only a few healing items left. I post my character at the Pokémon Center in my game and carefully coach him through each battle. Which Pokémon to use, what attacks to use when, when to send a Pokémon into death water so he can heal another, and so on. After every battle, instead of using his scant items he would trade the full team over to me so I could heal them at the Center. In the end, the rival’s last Pokémon fell, and we won. It felt so satisfying to have been able to bring my own Pokémon experience full circle like that

Since you still haven’t used Milotic, it’d be a great option for BDSP, especially since i believe you can force an encounter with it due to dupes clause
I think it would be a great encounter if it was encountered earlier, but post gym 7 is a bit late for a core team member since you need rock climb to get to that part of Mt coronet.
Wow...right down to the wire. It's lucky you're doing this challenge now. When they inevitably remake gen 1 again for gen 10, this challenge will be getting to near impossible territory.
I'm doing a similar challenge and am wondering if I'll be able to handle whatever they do for the Gen 5 remakes. Unless they add more early-route Pokemon I've got nothing left. I can't even imagine what I'd do if there were more than 7 Kanto games to deal with.

Was wondering when Starmie would make an appearance, but it's often an mid-to-late catch in the games, so I am not surprised. More often than not you will have found a perfectly adequate Water and/or Psychic Pokemon by the time Starmie rolls in - and considering the rules of the series, I totally get it.

The unexpected approach to the first run, being entertained, but feeling slightly cheated that you just made an oddish THAT OP.
The first run again after realizing you felt the same way about it - and that run being relatively stress free…
And then BOOM - here comes Let’s GO Eevee - mistake after mistake lead to the closest you’ve been to wiping in I can’t remember HOW long.
From a Let’s Go game man!! Turns out those opposing Pokémon probably had some sort of EV investment, or at least really good IVs to survive all of those heavy hits from your team.
In the end, a flawless elite 4 after learning your lesson and recalibrating - you love to see it.

Some of the most fun watching this nuzlocke. Giving many Pokemon their time to shine
jessie and james aren't the only double battles. literally every battle can be a double battle because you can shake the second joycon to bring another person in to fight too.
These games have a bad rap, but I loved them. They were nostalgic and the catch mechanic was an interesting twist. The additions to the story were also really nice. Overall they were fun games and even if they weren't competitive, they were just a simple and fun play through!
That Eevee playthrough got surprisingly tense for a while there
Toxic hitting through moves like fly or dig when used by a poison type was an oversight. They fixed it in sword and shield version 1.3.1. Why it took 3 generations to fix it is beyond me though.
Been loving this series rather a lot. Definitely have an idea for a future Pokemon Nuzlocke….doing them with only the Evil Teams Pokemon 😂 could be rather….fun 😂
Hitmonchan has a lot more special bulk (110) than physical bulk (79), so every time you got confused as to why you took a lot of damage from physical attacks, that is the reason.
Also, Raichu's attack stats are both the same (honestly that surprised me when I i checked) at 90, so even though Thunder has higher base damage, Thunder Punch did more because of the previously mentioned higher special bulk on Hitmonchan.
Man could’ve just given us a video of a solo oddish and solo bellsprout run, but went the extra mile instead

I always have a limit on grinding where you need to have at least 1 party member in the party, this means that the level cap stops the mass candy grind from going too far

I know that a lot of people don't like the affection mechanics in modern pokemon, Hardcore Nuzlockers especially, but I personally feel like it embodies the spirit of what Nuzlockes originally were. It was someone who wanted each pokemon to matter, nicknaming them, making it if they faint they can never be used again. What mechanic would better reciprocate those feelings then a pokemon liking you so much they'd hang on at a fatal blow or get rid of status ailments? It almost feels like a reward for genuinely caring about your team as much as a Nuzlocke would have you do.
Anyone else find it a little funny when he makes comments about the level cap as though it's a problem with how the games are made and not the nuzlocke level caps being the problem there?
I got 3 things I want to comment:
1. I would've been satisfied with the LGP solo Oddish run being the official run. So long as you didn't do it again for LGE, I think it makes for an amazing showcase of how to cheese the game.
2. I totally respect that you don't want to use the gimmicks of the later generations, but since Beedrill is such a weak Pokémon and LGPE don't have abilities, wouldn't Mega Beedrill have been on par with regular late game Pokémon?
3. Since you evolved Clefairy right away and never used it in battle, does that mean you're going to use eviolite Clefairy in a future game?
As someone whose doing a hardcore nuzlocke of this game right now, ive had some real issues dealing with anything after celadon game corner. Im not surprised koga beat your a** for a bit. Game is surprisingly hard

I really think it was a mistake to not go mixed with Victreebel, it has an almost equal Special Attack, and as you find out, special grass moves go so much further in Kanto.

But i noticed that you counted oddish twice ! First on pokemon gold (even though you did not use it) and once there. So technically you can count one less "Pkmn used" in total.

I have a graphic at the end that reflects the total amount used and that lines up with the final total used in this video. I think there might have been a few hiccups in the counts with previous early videos but we've been keeping good track of it for a while now.
