all in all a really nice package! you get a tablet, an ultrabook a full operating system where you can actually do productive stuff, and one of the largest displays in its category + expansion slot! way to go hp
This started with a "don't just flame me" speech but there's too many similarities to fit in. Without Apple would this have: - Bare (non-treated) Aluminum chassis - Edge-to-edge glass with black border and single, thin rubber lift-off - Black, chicklet keys against aluminium plate - Pronounced wedge-shaped side taper to front - Spherical rubber feet and circular ridged polished metallic screws - Magnetic fastening which aligns and drops into place - Huge glossy logo, nothing like an HP laptop
The problem with this is, is that they made the full tablet with tablet spec and what looks to be the keyboard attachment with more specs which makes it extra thick
Search for document editors/viewers on your device's app market. I personally have used the following: Documents 2 Go, Quick Office, and Polaris. They all do documents, excel/graph, and presentation. Those are on the Android OS though, don't know about iOS.
holy fucking shit. this is the best most ultimate product i have been waiting for. seriously. iv seen other W8 hybrids but my god. its so beautiful, sleek. looks like an ultra book. then an amazing tablet. and 64gb of storage!! with micro sd!!! so good. im getting this for sure.
Google "tc1100", as you can see that one was released back in 2002 by HP. Now go play in traffic. HP = first tablet with round corners, no buttons in the front and 10" screen. HP = first to make a transformer (detachable keyboard).
Choices!!! Ach!!! I was looking forward to the Surface... but... ach! Way to go HP, you've wrecked my next three months of life. I've got to decide....
Man, I actually loved the design, the problem is that it looks like a Macbook Air when in laptop mode, and looks like a Ipad 1 when in tablet mode lol what were they thinking?
The point of Windows 8 is that they are both the same thing. The only reason tablets can't handle online gaming now is the OS (They are powerful enough), Microsoft is trying to change this with Windows 8. Bringing both experiences into one.
Great device. Almost lured me with interest to buy one soon. But got one concern: they should have placed all the ports on the tablet, not on the keyboard. I find it ineffective if I want this on the go but left my keyboard ib my house. Almost got me on the sales talk thing but good thing I spotted its loophole... just my personal concern. No harm meant.
Keyboard is the most obvious, and the design from thick at the back thinning down to the front is very similar to the Macbook Air. I don't hate the Macbook, in fact I'm using it right now as I type this. But if I'm going to buy a WP8/different device, I want something different.
One question, since the headphones jack is on the "bottom" of the tablet....when you dock it, it stays on the bottom blocking access to the headphones jack.......right?!
The idea of this is great, will of course depend very much on what processing and weight compromises you have to make. Microsoft could be on to a winner after all (who'd have thunk it?!)
The design is very similar to the mac book air, although I am impressed with some of those features. I just wish they made their own design, I even thought I was looking at a macbook air for a second.
Okay, this looks like a Macbook Air especially with the keyboard, very cool for me but one thing i am worried about is the apple lawsuits will probably be coming in for patents' on that. They hate their designs being 'copied' which i believe is a bit copied from the bottom.
It is a wedge shaped aluminum laptop, its not copying when there is only one logical way of doing it. Of course that won't stop Apple from filing a lawsuit over a patent they shouldn't have.
answers: apple: It's a mo' freaking detachable keyboard; apple did not invent curved laptops asus: this is a computer with detachable keyboard, not a tablet with attachable keyboard.
I like the name. "envy" as in, "we at HP are envious of the success of the macbook and iPad, and so have stuck them together." The camera sort of ruins the looks And I like aluminium on my macs, I'm not sure I like it on PC's
Apple will probably sue HP out of existence because of this product. Also I've used Windows 8 and the metro UI stuff gets boring and obsolete after 20 minutes so I stuck with the standard UI. Really haven't seen a need to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Just my personal opinion. :)
it's just similar because both are minimalist style, but i've got news for you my friend, apple didn't invent minimalism ... read more about minimalism at wikipedia ;)
Everyone criticises apple but they're the ones that take the risks. They came out with a really thin, really portable laptop (MacBook Air) which was expensive. Everyone laughed at it when it came out but now all the companies want to copy it. They make a multitouch phone unlike any other on the market. Everyone criticises it as it's expensive but now they all copy it. Apple comes out with a tablet and everyone says 'it's just a large iPod' and laughs at it. Now all the companies want to copy it.
what the hell is going on with the start screen?) anyway this tablet is great, i would say the greatest amongst all the transformers and actually all the win 8 devices. this is my next product.

I think the X2 looks a bit better as a clamshell than the other tablets with keyboards. Its that nice wedge
The problem with this is, is that they made the full tablet with tablet spec and what looks to be the keyboard attachment with more specs which makes it extra thick
No. There is a headphone jack on the left hand side of the keyboard portion as well. It was shown in the video.

nice christmas gift

totally getting the HP Envy X2
It puts the netbooks into history.
This is the future, and I can't fucking wait!
Windows 8 final version not out yet?
Nice one!! May think abt getting this
Google "tc1100", as you can see that one was released back in 2002 by HP.

i have a question john..k when windows 8 comes out... are all windows 7 computers prices will go down.?
Why did they put the HP logo on that MacBook Air?
This looks really promising!
hp plz make something just like that but with a 17.3'' display because it would be awesome
u are the next HP, the size and the colour of this keyboard buttons are the same as mac's keyboard buttons :DDD
I'll be choosing between this or the surface based on specs and prices.
Choices!!! Ach!!! I was looking forward to the Surface... but... ach! Way to go HP, you've wrecked my next three months of life. I've got to decide....
OMG these Windows tablets-laptops are just awesome!!!!
Now I can say Windows 8 will definitly be a HIT !!
You don't need the touchscreen in laptop mode, the trackpad has the same functions c:
Wow, how original HP. Basically copying the design of the MacBook Air and making it a notebook/tablet hybrid. Bravo.
I just want a damn laptop with a touchscreen damnit. why don't we have those yet at a reasonable price?
not just the macbook the magent system is like a apple smart cover but with a keyboard
Man, I actually loved the design, the problem is that it looks like a Macbook Air when in laptop mode, and looks like a Ipad 1 when in tablet mode lol what were they thinking?
Im surprised apple hasn't sued HP for the design of this hybrid. i deff. wanna buy one though looks great
The point of Windows 8 is that they are both the same thing. The only reason tablets can't handle online gaming now is the OS (They are powerful enough), Microsoft is trying to change this with Windows 8. Bringing both experiences into one.
As steve jobs would say when you make a hybrid product... " its not the best at being a notebook, and its not the best at being a tablet either"
I agree with the magnet idea and looks. Everyone tries to clown apple, while it seems they all copy apples design
Mac OSX won't fit on a small 10-11 inch screen, however Windows 8 is already designed to fit in such small screens.
Asus Transformers (or whatever they're called) with Windows 8 will slaughter this thing.
And to add to that, I think the only tablet at IFA so far that hasn't been hybrid was the ATIV Tab, and, well, that didn't look that good either.
I love all the emotion they put into it jajajajaja
Question is, why would ANYONE want this 11" laptop in tablet mode? How am I going to walk around with this?
Even though i have a mac I have to say that it looks pretty good.
Looks pretty sweet IMO. Not a fan of the hybrids though, but that's just me.
The idea of this is great, will of course depend very much on what processing and weight compromises you have to make. Microsoft could be on to a winner after all (who'd have thunk it?!)
and a mac looks like a laptop in aluminum, what a crazy world
i want this, envy X2 rules
possible lawsuits:
-apple: keyboard, and shape
-Asus: pretty much like the transformer....
I always like having a tablet that you can add more storage
The design is very similar to the mac book air, although I am impressed with some of those features. I just wish they made their own design, I even thought I was looking at a macbook air for a second.
That is sick!!

Mad windows 8 tablet pcs today

answers:
apple: It's a mo' freaking detachable keyboard; apple did not invent curved laptops
asus: this is a computer with detachable keyboard, not a tablet with attachable keyboard.
what was the price point?
the s3 wasnt even talked about in the trial... and its not, does apple have a tablet and a pc mixed together
Now i would buy that when apple makes one
I thought Apple patented the wedge on top of rounded rectangles...
look at all those finger prints
do a comparison between hp envy x2 and macbook air
not a windows fan but still looks awesome
you're right people dont think of the consumer's advantage
Kinda glad Asus doesn't seem to sue anyone they possibly can.
you can't sue someone over the keyboard
I like the name.
"envy"
as in, "we at HP are envious of the success of the macbook and iPad, and so have stuck them together."
The camera sort of ruins the looks
And I like aluminium on my macs, I'm not sure I like it on PC's
they're just covering all the bases. modern tablets offer to add a dock, so now modern notebooks offer removing the dock lol
Will it have microsoft word on it? I cant do things with tablets because of it!
cool design
the only problem... i can't find the site to make the purchase.. lolz...
Why is their no Windows 8 tablet with 1920 x 1080 display or 2560 x 1440, 2GB RAM, 8MP 1080P Rear camera, 2MP 720P front facing camera.
Then there is already no hope left in saving you.
All of these stuff is windows8 why such a surprise.
im getting this laptop/tablet
how much will this cost?
really cool thanks for letting me know :)
I am totally with you...WOW
and its like an ipad when dettached and it has the magnet system like the apple smart cover
So now HP is absolutely littering the Envy line now with basically everything that is metal?
Dear apple, please don't try to sue HP.
Do I hear apple calling lawyers?
Apple don't own the island key style keyboard. ASUS probably has a patent for the locking mechanism not the entire keyboard dock.
this looks great but things like this i wait for the 2nd generation because normally first have alot of bugs
So you can take off the screen of any laptop and it won't break? Cool!
I like the Dell xps duo just a bit more.
liked this one... but didn't get what's the processor was =/

Remind me of the MacBook air
Did they copy it a bit
I FREAKIN LOOOVED!
it's just similar because both are minimalist style, but i've got news for you my friend, apple didn't invent minimalism ... read more about minimalism at wikipedia ;)

Somewhere under all those fingerprints is a tablet.
This I soooooo much better than surface. It's a high power notebook and tablet
I wouldn't be surprised if Apple sued
because after 5 minutes of using a touchscreen laptop, your arm feels tired. The tablet is the answer to that problem.
With apple would it even be hybrid? Like none of your points are specific to apple. Prior art, sony already had them.
We also tried to make it look a MacBook as possible lol
LOL I think we all know who Apple is sueing next ;) This looks nothing like the Macbook Air! :P
Apple is going to sue them over the keywords
How much is it?
That's a huge tablet
what the hell is going on with the start screen?) anyway this tablet is great, i would say the greatest amongst all the transformers and actually all the win 8 devices. this is my next product.
