sweet reel man, perfect yoyo reel for decades, I belive we got caught up with all the new tech in fishing reels, and forgot about those simple reels that got the job done for ages

100% agreed Tony! Everytime I do more research, seasoned anglers will always say they did it with mono on the 4/0 or 6/0 with single speed. I’m definitely spoiled with the new tech and still love it. Hope to get some yellows on it this season 🤙

@@Seastheday88 I would fill it out with 65 or 80 braid about 3/4 of the spool then top it off with 40lb mono for yoyo, yoyo is more of the reaction bite, so the heavier the line the harder you can pull them off the bottom

@@Tony67032 i was considering that after the fact 😂. Don’t even have a small reel to take advantage of the remaining 30lb but love how limp it is. Thanks for the suggestion on it. May do that before next trip 🤙

Also agree. Recently found a pair of Senators in my brothers shed and refurbished them. They look like new now and working perfectly. I read on Penn's promotional material that the Senator came out in 1936! And is responsible for more IGFA records than any other reel. What a legend!

@@pakde8002 yeap , it change abit from the start to when Penn took them of the shelfs, but yes tbey are some workhorse reel, we just got caught up on all this new tech , but senators accounts for tons of big fish caught way before spectra , when all the reels only had monofilament

Here in Indonesia I've had a really hard time finding good screw drivers. Seems everything is from China and the lowest grade stuff. Literally bought a half dozen screw drivers including a relatively expensive rachet driver set with 10 Phillips drivers but still can't open all my reels.
Theoretically I could order from Amazon but it will cost fifty bucks extra shipping for a five dollar screwdriver, so not really viable.

Very true, didn't consider that you'd have to get it shipped internationally. We do get spoiled with the convenience of Amazon here. I probably wouldn't know where to buy it otherwise. I went to my local home repair shop to source tools, but they're more for heavy duty versus precision products.
