All know, is this very eloquent man, had an interview on the Today show, with that other winner, Matt Lauer, before he won for Best Actor, where his reply when asked what were his chances of winning went something along the lines of " he'd better win" came across like a threat!!!! Funny, how I can't find a clip of that anywhere. I don't hate any individual person. I've been brought up to respect all for who they are. Have become sick & tired of some groups thinking there special!!!!!
KOHF34 : Morgan looked like a proud papa. They both were excellent in this film. I remember I was a senior in high school when this movie was released. My history teacher wanted our class to see it, so, we all did, after school. We didn't need permission slips because it was not during school hours. This movie was fantastic all-around, including stellar performances by Matthew Broderick , Andre Brauger and Cary Elves.
Want to feel old? His son whom he mentions wants to make him an Oscar out of clay is John David Washington, the star of BlacKkKlansman and Christopher Nolan's upcoming TENET.
Class coming from an African American, yes; but not class to define the word itself. There are many others who can be considered to define class from the general population.
+j0shua1208 How do you come to find yourself so far within the depths of a posted Denzel Washington video? I don't understand trolls and how they(you) decide which posts to invade. The psychology is quite interesting to me. I realize being basically anonymous on the internet is empowering. Does trolling provide an adequate alternative to the lack of a voice you feel in face to face discounters?
"My son said he was gonna make one of these out of clay. Now I've got the model for him." Denzel always did know how to put his award wins into perspective with the rest of his life.
I first saw him in the TV series St Elsewhere many years ago. Even then you could see how good an actor he was. He's come a long way since then and truly deserves every award that he's ever won
He probably has a lot of admiration and respect for Denzel, since he'd worked closely with him. It's no different than any other actor/actress applauding proudly for a star they've worked with. :)
Denzal's new movie The Magnificent Seven looks f**kin amazing, have you seen the trailer? It's actually a remake of the original Magnificent Seven starring Yul Brynner.... Definitely will be watching at in the movie theatre when that comes out
"Glory" was just one amazing film and Denzel Washington's performance was priceless! His Oscar win was well deserved! The rest of the cast did a fantastic job too! Edward Zwick's direction was a masterpiece!
When I first saw "Glory", my immediate reaction was: "Denzel Washington deserves the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for that!" I'm so glad the Academy thought so, too.
Updiwasa Ikr?...he comes from the background of "method acting" you know, a *real actor,* someone who could pull his weight on the stage (where it really counts) unlike a movie or t.v. show where you can do a "million takes" just to get one line right lol!
A very, VERY underrated movie, full of terrific performances. If you've never seen 'Glory,' see it. It is unforgettable. Bravo to this actor for his role. The tear-running-down-the-cheek scene at the whipping is just incredibly moving. Wonderful stuff!!
Denzel's performance in Training Day is what officially inspired me to become an actor. He's definitely one of my top 6 favorites, along with: Morgan Freeman Robert De Niro Samuel L. Jackson Al Pacino Jack Nicholson
I just rewatched Glory last week, and it's a film that easily could have had *4* Best Actor/Supporting Actor nominations - Denzel, Morgan Freeman, Carey Elwes, & Jihmi Kennedy as Jupiter Sharts. Not to mention what I think as Matthew Broderick's most underrated roles he's ever played. Absolutely a modern classic...
The strength of Denzel Washington is that he is the type of guy who, if you ask him a question, he will tell you the absolute truth whether you like it or not while also mentoring you on how to improve.
Denzel needs to team up with Scorsese or Spielberg. I would like to see Him With Spielberg but i would be satisfied with him being in a Scorsese movie. What do you think?
Scorsese is brilliant but he is, without a doubt, a racist. All his movies drop the N-word without hesitation. He has never cast a black man for anything huge. The most notable black man he's worked with was Sam L Jackson, who's character was whacked by a Guinea. Guineas hate blacks a lot.
Granted Training Day was really good, But I think Denzel should've won for Malcom X and or The Hurricane...be that as it may, well deserved Oscar for Training Day.
I remember seeing glory when i was 10 or 11, my mom rented it from the video store. I remember not wanting to watch but by the end of it i was sobbing profusely and the movie touched me so deeply. I remember the scene when Denzel is getting whipped it hurt me so much. As a kid i didn't pay attention the academy awards but years later i was very happy he won. For me Denzel along with Tom hanks made me love Cinema more than just the Goonies and back to the future
man this movie made me cry buckets when I saw it and none more than denzels character broke down at the campfire. I was so glad when denzel won the oscar for that portrayal because he was amazing.
He deserved it, a thousand times over. Many say Training Day or other such movies were his best acting, but it was Glory to me. Arguably, the entire cast deserved an award for their work.
Denzel looks like his mom. That's why he is so handsome. And I can understand why he loves his wife Pauletta, she is a lovely person with a lovely personality. Truly friendly and giggly. Cute
One of the greatest and most talented person in Hollywood. Once he leaves Hollywood, he will always be remembered like Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, and Gregory Peck…
