This is one of those videos that reminds me that makeup is my sports. 😆 The commentary, the weekly updates, the yearly recaps, the excited fandom when you find a kindred spirit, rooting for different brands ("teams") and creators ("players"), deciding on the best "strategies" (formulas) ... Yup, better than football any day for me. 😉🏈💄
I am personally over the clean beauty trend. I like how it looks but I don’t like how quickly some things expire. Stabilizers in makeup should be a thing. I’m not sure how some of these brands get away with it. (I’m looking at you Kosas)
Agree! It’s the light caramel skin tone, hair and green eyes…she looks stunning. If I did this eye look w my dark hair, brown eyes and fair/cool skin tone… I would look ILL. I’m envious!❤
@@Jennifer-uc2ohme too !! I’m fair skin with pink undertone, brunette & hazel eyes … I don’t think I’d be able to pull off the stunning look she’s got going on! I too, am envious !
@Jennifer-uc2oh I've been trying to do this kind of thing on my fair/cool undertone but with cool purple & pink colours & trying to blend it down from my eyeshadow to my cheeks. It's a work in progress trying to get it right but it's fun to play with!
Your eye makeup is giving me modern day Jem from Jem and the Holograms and now it’s got me wondering how you would translate all those over the top 80’s looks to modern day.
I'm just a girl, sitting in her full glam, waiting for the 2016 makeup aesthetic to come back. 😂 I've been loving indie makeup even more this year and I'm trying to slowly corrupt my coworkers into doing colorful eyeshadow.
Same!!!! I want funny lip colors to be back, more glittery and metallic lipsticks, I'm sick of 'my lips but better' looks. For me a neutral lip is Tomboy from Melt which is basically an undead greige XD
I feel like Angie boosted Cosmic Beauty forward, that's how I found out about them and made a purchase. And I think glittery and shimmery lip products are gonna pick up next year
I picked up the Winter Wonderland palette because of Angelica and I am obsessed. I went so over-the-top with today's look because I was having so much fun playing. I'm a sparkly ice fairy princess now, that's my new journey. It's one of my top two favorite palettes of the year.
After the success of Yucca and the not so good feedback from Xenon I feel like she's gonna knock spring out of the park...I checked the trademarks and she's gonna have a Bloom Face Palette/Bloom Palette coming soon. The bloom products that already exist are my absolute favorite from the brand and actually what got me started on TH-cam myself so I'm super super hopeful she does it justice. 🌱🌺🏵️🌼🌱
@@YogaCheryl I think I'm in the space where I like both, but it just depends on what it is. Angie and Tina from The Fancy Face have definitely put me on to indie brands when I started my makeup journey. For palettes, I love indie. For some of the more base products like foundation and concealer and such, I prefer the mainstream.
I really was surprised by ELF this year. They make really good price/quality wise products, skin care and since I lost my job I had to cut down hugely on my spending budget. ELF made sure I had a great primer, skin care and even makeup and for a great price. I am very happy. And yes, I know a lot of products are dupes but they do it so well ❤
definitely think it was an indie brand year for eyeshadow! we've always known that they are hidden gems but as you said, some really did blow it out of the park.
I love this tag - so much fun! Thank you so much to all the creators in December giving us extra content! In these short daylight hours, I'm living! PS. I do not understand PH adjusting anything - all us humans have the same PH. Some of us have paler skin and some deeper, so it does look different based on that. It's not supernatural!
I loved your Oden’s Eye collab! It’s the only makeup item I’ve purchased since April. I can’t resist an Oden’s Eye palette and a collaboration with you makes it that much more special. Your brushes were an instant favorite. I had no trouble resisting the ND Xenon. A 5 pan was sufficient, and I didn’t even buy that!😂😂 Enjoy Vegas!
I definitely agree that we’re headed towards more makeup rather than less. It felt like that trend rose up during the mask wearing time, but we’re masking a lot less now. I think we’re seeing more makeup trickle in too with the latte and strawberry girl makeup, it’s still very subtle but it’s visible makeup as opposed to the original clean girl look
I bet Pat Mcgrath is producing all these pink palettes because she saw the numbers and she knows that they sell far better than anything else. Influencers get annoyed but her target customer (someone who can effort her prices) is happy to pay over and over again for and nude pinky palette. It's a shame because her first palettes were so cool and interesting
So sad to hear we will not be getting a prediction video this year. I think that is my favorite video at the holidays. But thanks for adding it at the end of this video!
I love these type of videos, where you talk about some of the "highlights" of the past few months. And, yes there haven't been many Christmas releases this year. On one hand I'm sad because I love the holidays and the palettes are usually quite beautiful but on the other hand I feel a slight "makeup fatigue" after all of the releases the past months, so a break is nice.
This year to me was the year of neutrals coming back. After a few years with lots of rainbow/monochromatic this year we really went back to neutrals. Also multi/duochromes or toppers became more mainstream and I'm here for it!
I agree that Cosmic Brushes/Beauty is terrific . . . quality and color stories! Their Winter Wonderland palette is gorgeous, and I personally appreciate that the brand owner decided to make it winter themed rather than specifically Christmas-themed. I have the Natasha Denona Midi Xenon palette and think it's gorgeous, but I also don't have the mini Xenon. In fact, I was planning on getting the mini Xenon, butr when the midi version was leaked, I decided to wait and choose between the two. Additionally, while I have gray and black eyeshadows in various palettes, I don't have a single gray-scale-focused palette in my collection. So, for my cool-toned skin, the midi Xenon works and serves a purpose in my collection, but I totally see how others might view the midi Xenon as obsolete, boring, or redundant. I never purchased the ND Yucca palette, but I do think I will be picking that up in the coming months since I love mustards, olives, oranges, and greens, and the palette continually gets rave reviews.
Looooooved it so much! I also think warmer cheeks are gonna have a comeback in the near future, and I’m definitely here for it! I’m also so looking forward to seeing more makeup being popular again ❤
If anyone is wanting great single eyeshadows in the similar colors as Merit singles, check out the makeup artist brand Mehron Makeup (found at camera ready cosmetics) has some of the best matte powder formula in those crease and blend out shades for fair to medium skin tones. They’re pigmented and blend so seamlessly that I find myself using the single in Espresso or Toffee for the crease color, regardless of what palette I use. Plus the Merit singles are just too much when it comes to singles. We don’t want to have to unscrew each one and then screw back on tightly when done. That’s annoying
Ooo love your look today!! I don’t think colourpop has been a flop this year…but it has for me. They’ve always been one of my favorite brands and I just haven’t had any interest in the majority of their releases this year. Which makes me sad! I hope 2024 they can spark my interest again!
@erinld2005 I agree with you! I wouldn’t say Colourpop is in their flop era but nothing really interested me enough to purchase except for products that I repurchased. I know this year has flown by way too quickly ☺️
IF, Cosmic (Brushes) Beauty, (I hate when brands change their names!) and Oden's Eye keep their prices reasonable I will continue to purchase from them. Very happy with ALL (and there's a lot) purchases from them. Bellabeautebar STILL hasn't even shipped my Basic Witch and Deinfluenced Palettes, ordered in early October, however has launched other products??.... I absolutely will NOT purchase from them again! ND, YUCCA PALETTE is STUNNING! I already had the mini Xenon palette and waited to see the reviews for the full palette, so happy, because the reviews were not good, (same as what you have said) and I am happy with the mini! 👍 Pat McGrath who?? ✋ Don't even look at her anymore....way too expensive for the same shades! Please Angie, let these companies know that we as consumers expect BETTER, if lower priced companies are able to give us exceptional quality without the sticker shock, I'll go there. ❤️
I finally got the Yucca palette from Natasha Denona and let me tell you… it was definitely worth the money! Love your channel! It’s been 3 years now that I’ve been watching your channel and you never disappoint. Hope the rest of the year for you goes great!
I don't typically get to buy new releases when they are first released so I can't do this tag but I love watching everyone else do it and learning about the best and worst of the year.
Love these make up tags. Because with all the new make up I need to know what’s good and what’s not. Thank you for your honesty!❤️ And yes, the Yucca and Winter Wonderland palettes are SO good!
I loved the idea behind the Glamlite horror collections. As an avid horror fan, I love seeing two of my passions come together in a brand that I'm interesting in trying!
I truly hope the barbie pink blush phase does not go away, I love that color blush! And you are so right about the Iconic London blushes, they are phenomenal!
I just love odens eye, I have so many eyeshadow palettes, so I have to pick and choose wisely what I buy, I own almost everything at odens eye that they have since last year at their Black Friday sale(2022), missed out on the collab with wolf(forgot what those were called) will not miss out ever again! So odens eye is always my first choice.
I think I've watched every one of these that you and Sam do every year. Now it gives me a Nostalgic Christmasy feeling, another tradition as the holidays approach❤
I got both ND Xenon and Huda's Pretty grunge. Unexpectedly, I reach for the Xenon a lot more, the shades are similar, but I see the subtle differences and I enjoy the pallete a lot ❤
Your eye look is awesome ☄️🔥❤️🔥... I went through a Michael Kors Sexy Amber travel spray, so I purchased a full size bottle for my birthday 2 months ago, and now planning my next fragrance purchase, which will be a lighter option.
You and Steff both put GXVE beauty on my radar! They're mid range prices which is ideal IMO, and they also had an amazing 50% off sale this past black Friday
With how the fashion industry is gripping to the 90’s and 00’s for makeup and clothing inspo, I feel like the natural progression is to revisit the celebrity fragrance era.
One of the big themes in 2023 was the grey/ neutral / cool story, which played out in 2023. Lots of people argued about ND not being cool toned enough. The is it pale pink or is it pale apricot arguments online regarding I Need A Nude was raging for a while. I was glad to see cool toned greys, taupes and others - top marks to Ghostface and Hersheys Cookies n cream palettes for delicate and punchy cool neutrals
Thank you for always doing the end of the year wrap! Also love your channel because you do so many looks with almost every palette, both mainstream & indie, and don't just stick to one lane so to speak. Even if it's not a palette that is your fave or preferred ones, it's guaranteed to give us a great look! Good for me since I look better in cool tones and was in a minority absolutely LOVING ND's Xenon palette!! Thrilled all of my icy grays, silvers and metallic blacks along with a pop of pink & deepest midnight could be found in one palette!! Crushing on the Berry Pop palette now so thanks for that one recently. Thank you Angie for all the great looks you serve and congratulations on your sell out brushes!! HNY!
Yes I’m a PML fan tired of the same thing. I want my original Motherships quality and color stories. I didn’t know how to use everything at the time but learned so much about light and shade and texture.
Totally agree with fragrances being the new it thing. I have really been impressed with Phlur this year- I tried 3 of their travel sprays and used them up completely.
As soon as I saw you were doing this I knew you were talking about the genitalia lipsticks in the ugly category for sure. I cackle every time you talk about them
I love the impact and velvety effect of the older melt shadows but as my eyes are aging they can look quite thick and emphasize lines... I wonder if they are growing with their audience and going for a formula that is more blurring?? I haven't tried the newer palettes so not sure 🤔 maybe that's a reach. for context I love oden's eye and kaleidos, mostly thanks to you and batty bean 😊
A lot of indie brands are doing great! I hope you're right about more perfumes coming. I'm crazy about fragrances, but for a long time, I haven't found the one that I die for
I got the Oden's Eye Holiday palettes last year and very glad that I did! I love the formula, and the colors are stunning! I definitely need to do some looks with those again soon!
Oh, and I forgot Odens. I am very excited to see you with what they do. I discovered them this year as well. I was able to purchase the Norris the Sol the moon. I picked up your pallets during the black Friday as well as the Christmas bundle I created amazing look with your pallet using the I believe it was the little ghost. I did a blue halo today.

HNY!
I’m obsessed with this eye look 😍 Your creativity is inspiring.
Boy I feel spoiled!! Thanks for another video Angie!! 💋
I also love the Yucca palette- one of the favourites of the year.
Totally agree that Bella Beaute Bar’s formula is one of the best.
Watching this on my night shift :) Love tags so much they're actually my favourite content to watch, they're so helpful to wrap up the year.
Thank you for including your predictions. I love hearing what you think about the trends
I’m so glad the odens eye holiday palettes came back!
Yes I’m a PML fan tired of the same thing. I want my original Motherships quality and color stories. I didn’t know how to use everything at the time but learned so much about light and shade and texture.
I am living for this bright pink eyeshadow 💞
Love the yucca palette ❤
Totally agree with fragrances being the new it thing. I have really been impressed with Phlur this year- I tried 3 of their travel sprays and used them up completely.
As soon as I saw you were doing this I knew you were talking about the genitalia lipsticks in the ugly category for sure. I cackle every time you talk about them
Love this warm pink eye with the baby blue top
I would love the cool tone trend to continue a bit, because it suits my skintone, I`ve not found the perfekt pink blush yet... excited for 2024! 🤩
Your Odens Eye Helaween palettes were faves of mine this year! The OG Hela is still a fave .
This year I’ve try many lovely indie brands for the first time: unearthy, singe, blend bunny..
I also fell in love with Cosmic Beauty and Odens Eye this year - thanks to you Angie :)
I 💯% agree re REM foundation. One of my favs.,
Stunning look 😍 I still cant believe how long your hair is now!! I love it. ❤
Best collab of 2022? Angie x Oden's Eyee, of course!
You are killing it with the last few eye looks.
It's so great to see all the good stuff in one place! (Must resist FOMO...). Your look is bold!
Those palettes from Cosmic Beauty look sooo beautiful, but I already have so many new palettes so I'll have to wait to try the brand
Your eyes are beautiful what eye shadow 💞 are you using?
This shirt with the hot pink is stunning!
